Yes! One "living language" may change as time ticks on, but the commercial and cultural advantages of one language better cements the unification of a stronger nation. Remember the lesson taught by the Tower of Babel: Those handfuls who understood each other went their own way.

Albeit Spanish or English, a "living" language is always changing. Try to fully comprehend if not read Chaucer's ye olde English from the get-go. I recall a teacher of old English literature saying "knight" was pronounced "ka-neet" back then.
Probably the biggest recent radical change of a word is "gay."
Anyone recall the cartoon show soundtrack song of "having a gay good time" in The Flintstones? Believe that was the last time "gay" was used commercially for "happy."
Martin Luther King was leading marches (that just a time fix--not an association) when I read an editorial that lamented the homosexual adoption of "gay," since the word had seen much use in poetry and so forth.
No sense crying over a living language's evolution. It can be resisted, but I would not be surprised if English and Spanish somehow melded over centuries to come. I vaguely recall a prediction made at the trurn of the century that "Anglos" such as myself will be outnumbered here in a surprisingly short time.

I am a basically independent who used to sometimes v**e Democrat on the local level at least 10 years ago. On the p**********l level,the last Democrat v**ed for was Carter. One time. Realized Carter was a huge mistake and v**ed for Reagan. As fast as Reagan won, the Iranians released all those American hostages. They did not wait for Reagan to get into office. I gladly v**ed for Reagan again.
Now it has devolved into being repeatedly forced to v**e Republican for the lesser of two evils. Last two times it was either the RINO or the Demonrat C*******t, who has called the Constitution he swore to defend a "list of negatives."

I've listened to Juan's liberal reasoning on Fox. He's one of those nice ones someone like me can rarely agree with yet still like. He is fair enough to be trusted with hosting The O'Reilly Factor every once in a while when the boss is gone. And he does a good job!

We will all need to speak Mandarin Chinese as well as Spanish the way things appear to be going.

Retired after 21 years as a state corrections officer, I (many years apart) stopped two escape attempts when assigned to a tower (other days working every post there was). #1 involved 2 guys and #2 was one guy. Both times a warning shot settled things. I was mentally prepared to "shoot to stop" (aim at torso center mass) if I had to fire again. Oh, and if someone breaks into my house tonight, I have a 12-guage I'm not afraid to use. Same goes for the .45 in my car glove compartment should I be forced to defend myself on the road.

I was against the Vietnam War back in '69 when I got drafted. They put me in the Marines where I was "trained to k**l" as they liked to call it. Guess they still do. I never got out of the Carolinas during the two dinky years I had to serve. But being in the Marines with a promotion to corporal for meritorious reasons always looked good on a resume.

Never had to shoot to k**l but during that second escape attempt I had the dude square in my sights before and after I put the warning shot into the air. Torso center mass is a heart shot by the way. If I let that convicted felon go he could have k**led, raped, at least hurt somebody.

So-o I should never take a life for any reason? Hm?

Well, putting a bullet in a groin and leaving the cur to bleed out in a cell with a drain would still cost one bullet. I'm just trying to be economical here.
