Can’t “balance our checkbook” and we don’t have a spending problem? Riiiiight.

(CNSNews.com) – Inflation-adjusted federal tax revenues hit a record $739.5 billion for the first quarter of fiscal year 2015, but the federal government still ran a $176.7 billion deficit during that time, according to the Monthly Treasury Statement.

Each month, the Treasury publishes the government’s “total receipts,” including all revenue from individual income taxes, corporate income taxes, social insurance and retirement taxes (including Social Security and Medicare taxes), unemployment insurance taxes, excise taxes, estate and gift taxes, customs duties, and “miscellaneous receipts.”

In constant 2014 dollars, the $739.5 billion that the federal government collected in October, November and December of 2014, which is the first quarter is fiscal 2015, was $65.8billion more than the $673.7 billion it collected in the first quarter of fiscal 2014.

In fiscal year 1998, which is the first data available on the Treasury website, the government collected $568.5 billion in the first quarter of 1998 in inflation-adjusted revenue. This means that since then, revenues have increased by 30.1 percent.

Although the federal government brought in a record of approximately $739.5 billion in revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2015, according to the Treasury, it also spent approximately $916.1 billion, leaving a deficit of approximately $176.7 billion.

First, the article whitewashes the t***h about Chick fil a, claiming they merely stood for traditional marriage. They contributed over 5 million dollars to anti-gay organizations, one of those considered a h**e group by the Justice department. The author made those school officials who refused to support the Chick fil a sponsor to be against free speech and traditional marriage. Very misleading. There are four other reasons Chick fil a should have been disqualified, employee discrimination one of those.

As for stupid, what party does not have some truly star-spangled numbskulls. (How many states in America?) My money would be on Bachman to beat out Biden in this category or at best a photo-finish.

One has to openly wonder why some people still listen to the lunatic rantings of Rush Limbaugh. This is a blowhard who clearly wouldn't know the t***h if it bit him in his oversized fat ass. The propaganda and disinformation minister of the extreme far right is an embarrassment to humanity and arguably the worst slime that ever crawled from the sewers of broadcasting. Rush is the most foul of all rotting scum that a cesspool could ever fester. The most vile and odorous bile that could ever stink up a waste treatment facility or garbage dump. The sewage that flows from this insecure and pompous jerk is a diatribe of lies that would make Goebbels look like a rank amateur. If a******n was ever a moral imperative for society, it was most certainly missed opportunity in this case. That one person could ever make the three stooges look like Harvard intellectuals is surprising to most, but enough of the pleasantries.

Any savvy  journalism or communications major will tell you that the excrement spewing from the sewer that is Rush Limbaugh's mouth is, like this piece, an op/ed at best, or a calculated act of treason at its worst. Rush Limbaugh makes his fortune by disseminating outrageous lies and fomenting discourse. Anyone who could stoop to the subterranean depths that this human cancer does on a daily basis must truly be soulless or the bastard child of the devil himself. (My apologies to devil worshippers.)

Those that truly follow the news know that Rush has always been willing to disregard facts and reality in order to serve the overlords of a twisted far right political ideology. Many conservative commentators are willing to spin or massage the facts of a story to fit their brand of politics, but Limbaugh is an undeniable media s**t, willing to whore himself out for cash no matter how big the lie. Rush is incapable of reasoning any compromise between left and right that might best serve the interests of our nation, possibly the result of years of oxycontin drug abuse which has fried what little brain he might have been born with. Rush only knows one thing, h**e speech. Like Adolph Hitler, his agenda is to beguile those who dare to lend an ear, or might unwittingly listen to his message of political anger and hostility.

A great many Americans are starting to see the person behind the curtain for what he truly is, a d******e cockroach that does nothing but spread disease to society. Our great country is a melting pot of color and race, but Limbaugh chooses only to see white. America is made up of many political ideals, flowing from liberal to moderate to conservative, but Rush can only see the very far right. Blue does not exist in the color spectrum for the king of all wing-nuts, only red, which matches the anger that he readily dispenses in his perverted form of patriotism.

The FCC should have done its duty years ago and pulled this whack-job from the air, ending his reign of social terror on our public airwaves. For that matter, the American Psychiatric Association could also have stood up and made the case for his forced incarceration into the most secure nuthouse in the land. Sadly none of this has taken place, yet, but for now we still have the one option available to us all, as a nation that struggles to recover from bad capitalism and years of far right ideology and two horrid Bush administrations, turn the knob on your radio off! We will all be better off for it.

So in your opinion, shooting b****s should be free and legal? The ignorant rebel rousers in Ferguson are spouting that same rhetoric as being true - and you just confirmed it. NO ONE should be k**led by police - just because. The Grand Jury could find no compelling probable cause to justify a criminal complaint in this case. The fact that the guy was unarmed WAS taken into consideration, but was found to be irrelevant.

The majority of wife beatings are committed by w****s, so wives should be encouraged to k**l their husbands for beating them. The majority of embezzlement cases are committed by w****s, so w****s property should be up for grabs by b****s, because w****s are thieves anyway. How far does this kind of reasoning need to go?

The book had some kind of reference to a******n in it. These fools got together and tore out all of the pages referencing that subject. In a city near where I live and where I do much shopping, a 1% sales tax is due to expire. The sales tax was v**ed in to pay for a new jail, but that is now paid for. The city is now having a contest to determine what to spend the money on, to keep the sales tax. I asked the Mayor why they don't just let it expire and save people the money. The answer was " once people have become used to paying a tax, it doesn't make sense to let that money go"

When I asked what they would do, if another project came up that was vital, but they had already spent the tax on something else, the Mayor said that they would simply go to the council - and ask for more tax. Which I assume would also become permanent. Well, who would a thunk?

The top income tax rate went back up to 39.6 percent over a year ago — for singles making more than $400,000 a year or couples making more than $450,000. The increase was part of the “fiscal cliff” package that Congress passed on New Year’s Day of 2013.

Capital gains rates also increased in 2013 under the same “fiscal cliff” deal — but not nearly as much as this email claims. For long-term gains (on assets held more than one year) the top rate went from 15 percent to 20 percent (not 28 percent), and also applied to individuals making more than $400,000 and couples earning more than $450,000.

The top rate for dividends also went up to 20 percent (not 39.6 percent) in 2013 as part of the same fiscal cliff package, and also only for those with more than $400,000 individual or $450,000 joint taxable income.

It’s true that the estate tax was once effectively zero percent — but only for people who died in 2010, not last year. The top rate went back up to 35 percent for those who died the following year, and (under the fiscal cliff deal) to 40 percent for those who died in 2012 and thereafter. Furthermore, the rate is still zero percent for any individual who dies this year and whose estate is valued at less than $5,340,000. The threshold for filing an estate-tax return was set at $5 million in 2011, and is indexed for inflation each year.

The claim that the fiscal-cliff tax increases were “passed with only Democratic v**es” is false. The deal passed by a v**e of 89-8 in the Senate (including 40 Republican v**es in favor) and by a v**e of 257-167 in the House (with 85 Republican v**es in favor). The package made permanent the 2001 Bush tax cuts for all but very high-income earners, avoiding tax increases that otherwise would have taken effect Jan. 1, 2013, when the “temporary” Bush tax cuts were scheduled to expire.

And "Income Payroll Tax" is a head scratcher that only lunatics seem to know what it means...
