I found this a most enjoyable read. This is one part of history I know little about and could not begin to authenticate or disprove it without some amount of research. But it seems very well written and believable. Did you write this or was it was it purloined in part or total from someone else? No matter, it was still impressive.

Were you thinking of Savik (Vulcan father of logic) or of Q, the the existentialist anarchist? Anyway, that wasn't quite my thought. I could just never get my justification concept around the idea of a Christian-type God creating us, his most precious invention, granting us free will and the ability to know good from evil and then leaving out simple things like, say, the ability to regenerate important body parts. He, She or It has the where-with-all to engineer some of the most complex biological systems (here I'm leaving out evolution) that we, as mere mortals, can imagine, but grants that ability to lizards, earthworms and others that are apparently only here for us to reign over. So, leaving out my logic flow chart, I can only come to the conclusion that God is damned good at detailed biology and physics, but not so good at the macro view of quality of life. Kind of like putting Deep Blue in a car and forgetting the windshield wipers and the door handles. This can only be intentional or accidental. So, he is either an i***t savant or a sadist.

As an agnostic I read the back and forths with bated vision (to coin a term or possibly to create a spoonerism) and find differing values in both sides. However, I've found one possibility that I haven't seen explored. If a "God" does exist, could he be an i***t savant?

Just want to thank the members of this thread. Been watching OPP for quite some time and have engaged in some of the topics but have quit (for the most part) doing that. I completley despise most of the so called discussions that rapidly degenerate into name calling and forays into vindictiveness. Make your point by reason, not by degenerative sophmorisms.
Anyway, I've thoroughly enjoyed reading all the posts, and I do mean reading, not skimming. I must admit, however,to many side forays into wikipedia and the dictionary for both context and meaning.

You neither refute nor explain, you just attack. This seems to be a common tactic for the left (and sometimes the right, but not as often). The moral high ground you attempt to seize is actually a morass and if I don't agree with you I HAVE to be wrong, by definition.
