I ain't been on this in a long, LONG time, and having been away all that time made it super easy for me to notice, even if it were not so blatantly thrust to the fore, that this Plaza has, and is being used, via 'false f**g' postings from the organized Left, to manipulate (yes, again) the way we think. Free speech is crucial to Liberty and our Republic, and I am fully supportive of it. (You Marxists take your inversions and go pound sand.) The earmarks of healthy discourse are absent too often for a reasonable person to NOT notice.
Now that I've aired that warning, it's great to be back, and I'll be here more in the immediate future. Thank you!

In the past, as noted above, we succumbed to financial security with s***ery, h**e in Jim Crow Laws, greed and prejudice concerning Native Americans, fear in incarcerating fellow citizens without due process, and power in alliances with dictators. Yet, again, we overcame those errors because we are a Republic that cherishes the principles of liberty. But today we are facing the biggest challenge ever and our greatest enemy: ourselves. We need to break this ideological impasse and that means all of us must work hard and selflessly, overcoming our fears and prejudice, our need for safety and power, if such wonderful ideals are to survive another generation. To be truly free is not legislated by Congress and maintained by the courts but an individual act of will with a heart for those ideals.
What does it take? This is what I see.
Intellectual integrity demands an active resistance to confirmation bias and a determination to earnestly seek the t***h. I read and listen to Fox News, CNS, the Federalist, and other highly conservative, even alt-right, reporting everyday. I do not go a day without. I even started a thread recently written by the Federalist. I was taught to play the Devil's advocate with my most sacred beliefs, but especially those that are emotionally charged. Feel anger or h**e or fear: the need to step back, pause, and probe deeper has tripled. This by no way means that I or anyone else will come to the right conclusion or t***h every time or maybe even half the time (though I like to thinks so). It only means that loyalty to an ideology or distrust of the opposition is not nearly enough to keep America free and safe. Far too many here seem content to hivethink and lockstep. This nation is crumbling because of it. Stalwart d******eness, not a foreign enemy, will bring down this country. The petty and selfish efforts of patriotism by partisanship will be the eventual end of this “great experiment” of liberty. Say “E pluribus unum” now to a crowd and a r**t would break out. But that is this Republic's true motto: we have to start living it!

It seems that moldyoldy is one of those unfortunates located somewhat left of center, but is nonetheless (I believe) an American, fully entitled to his or her view and opinion. Despite the fact that that opinion is one I was unable to let stand un-challenged, it's still his or hers. That makes the expression of it valid as any words I used in reply thereto. But I'd be remiss to merely read and accept it. I loathe to the point of hatred of the undeniable fact that there exists the d******eness we have in our country! I'll also admit that when I switch instinctively to the defensive attack of such, that while I won't back down, I've done nothing to heal. I do hope that my verbal venom will give cause for thought by my philosophic adversary, but that is beyond my control.

YES. I favor a ban on muslims. ALL non-US Citizen muslims. I favor a permanent type ban as opposed to any temporary ones. Muslims who are US Citizens are the only exceptions.
