Think a moment blade the very definition of a conservative is that they do not want change. We see thise every day in the varied rants of the current right wingers.. Back in the day of our revolution, the conservatives did not want to change from being part of the most powerful nation at the time.. they wanted to stay with King George.. and so the ran away, hid, did NOT fight the king..

In contradiction to your thesis that conservatives abhor change, that is not, and has never been the conservative outlook at all. The following lays out some of the main points of the conservative idea on changes.
1. We are all for changes that prove to be necessary and desirable for the nation and the citizenry.
2. We ask for some form of proof or analytics that better define the necessity and desirability.
3. We ask for model efforts, trial runs in for instance one of the states to be able to see the change in action and make corrections before expanding the change to the nation as a whole.
4. We are cost-conscious and do not wish find we have bought a pig in a poke, so realistic cost analysis is in order.
5. If it is an emergency situation, we cut a few corners to fix the problem, but want to revisit the whole thing real soon to set it properly.
6. We deeply reset the number of programs that have been slammed through the congress and the presidency, only to find it to crash and burn inside a few years at a great loss to the taxpayer . Some of us resent the whole idea of uncontested, undebated funds earmarked for constituencies by the billions.
7. We have supported the military very strongly, believing that we reach peace through strength.
8. We support having a budget and sticking to it as best we can.
9. We listen to the people and what their needs are not what we decide to do on our own.
10. Recognize that we are a minority within the Republican Party, and cannot move things along without the full support of all republicans, which limits the conservative agenda seriously. I am NOT talking here about Republicans but real conservatives. They are not synonymous. Much more can be said, but this sets the tone.
When we look at the social side, all we can do today is shudder. We list PC, Woke, T***s, CRT, dumbing down the schools, and quite a few other tax and spend mistakes of the left as totally irresponsible and contrary to our values as Americans. These kinds of changes are not uplifting for the people, they are confrontational, sexist, and immoral. Conservatives want none of that! We will change back!
Ever think that ideas and people both evolve over time? A conservative today is not the same animal as those of even just 10 or 15 years ago, and as for King George's time, big evolutions. I dare say no one is the same as their early adulthood now!
