No matter how smart some think the original writers of the constitution were, they had no idea how the country would change since 1788.

For instance, why is the 3rd amendment still part of the bill of rights? It is useless, and will never be used, since the founders had no idea about standing armies and forts.

And why do cons always talk about being originalists in their interpretation of what the founders meant, only up to when they are in power and want to support their policy, such as the horrible, criminal Citizens United for corruption and greed.

And it is time to get rid of all of the nebulous, confusing language about what some thinks that some meant in 1788.

No matter how smart some think the original writer... (show quote)

The Founders based our Constitution on Natural Law and the nature of people. Nowhere is there a mention of technology, specific weapons, air travel, f****l f**ls, etc. Only the nature of man is considered. Any statement about what the Founders could or could not predict about the future is not relevant in any form or fashion.

The simple t***h is the nature of man has not changed. Nor will it.

Take another look at the what is being reported; violent crime and property crime. The report you are quoting DID NOT include any drug trafficking offenses. In New England, i*****l i*******ts account for the great majority of drug trafficking. This is a prime example of selective statistics being used to prove a predetermined, false conclusion.
