What do you mean by, “today’s USE of the second amendment”?
The second amendment (or the entire Bill of Rights for that matter) isn’t something one “uses” - they are a list of natural (inalienable) rights, a list of things the government can never mess with, limits against government. They are filled with negative words, like, “shall not be infringed”, “shall not be deprived” ... etc, etc.
Nobody has a “right” to drive.
Nobody has a “right” to tv, radio, or internet access.
Nobody has a “right” to healthcare.
But there is a “right” to keep and bear arms.
Am I being too critical here?
