I read with disgust the accounts of the recent White House party for the partisan Democratic National Committee in the June 24 ("Military servants") and June 28 ("Service warriors") items in your "Inside the Beltway" column.
It appears that uniformed military officers were ordered by some of President Clinton's "staffers" to act as waiters and domestics, and pass around trays of hors d'oeuvres, to the embarrassment of those officers, as well as many of the attending guests. The Washington Times Archives.
