Getting rid of Acting Director of the IRS Steven T Miller by Mr. Obama does nothing to answer the problem of targeting conservative groups in 2010 when the problem first arose. At that time Douglas H Shulman was director and he resigned just after the e******n and had served from Mar 24, 2008 until Nov 9 2012 with Miller serving as Acting Director Nov 10 2012 until his resignation May 15, 2013 so he didn't make it to early June when an appointment was to be made. Looks and sounds like a big smoke screen to me.

Cats, flowers and veggies and The Constitution of the United States. i have been to Monticello three times. Did you do Ashlawn right up the road?

On June 6, 1993 Ashlawn was the last thing on our trip that day. On that trip I sent a letter to each one of our kids and they forwarded it to the next and when it got around the sent it back to me for posterity. Got twenty three of the twenty four back. At Ashlawn, Monroe's home, I learned that it cost early Presidents to serve their country. In Monroe's case he was $73,000.00 poorer. Ashlawn was the end of the day and we were tired. We were fresh for Monticello so some of that I have a more vivid memory of and did not have to check my letters of the trip, but I did remember that early Presidencies cost those who served a good chunk of money.

I still don't think you look like that, but that you're just a cat lover. That picture reminds me of Thomas Jefferson, upon visiting his home they said he would have four or more open books on a turn table that he kept revolving for information on the topic of interest at the time.

Aren't most of these shootings happening in gun free zones? Why aren't the laws being enforced? Maybe we would be safer if there were no gun free zones and people could protect themselves. If one or two of the office victims at Sandy Hook had been carrying nothing more would have happened and it would not have been listed as an attack, since four death have to take place to be listed.

Sounds like it got out of hand before we realized it.

First time around Mr. Obama made a remark about a police force bigger than the military that most people missed. An armed public can curtail such a force if they have the ammunition. And where did all the bullets go!

What ever happened to "shotgun weddings", or is this a long tale of government doing a job that was better handled by private individuals. I know I may be kidding a bit, but there is that kernel of t***h in there somewhere.

As a 3-4 grader in the late 1930's I thought it was awful that the United States did not join the League of Nations. I thought everyone thought like we did. I have also discovered selective hearing since then. I have also realized that what I think someone is saying is not what they mean. Their words make me think they are saying what I want to hear. Sometimes a person will tell you what they want, and you have a very different idea as to what they are saying. I guess they call it spin today. Some people are very good at telling us what they are going to do, but we hear it differently or what they tell us slips by at the time. To me it seems that our President is very good at this. A likable personality doesn't hurt a bit. Put a winning smile along with it also goes a long way. Of course our nature is often to accept first impressions, and also hating to admit we are wrong. And I also believe that Executive Privilege can mean, "I'm up to my eyeballs in it so bug off." Also when Ms Rice is confronted with five appearances, and "He" responds with "Why don"t you put the blame where it belongs," we accept it. Many times the best defense is a good offense. Thinking people often don't think, and if we fess up right away it's okay.

The add above Quick Reply is one for DNA Testing. My understanding is that we can all trace back to Africa, and I accept my founder to be Adam no matter what ethnicity or race. Looks like one more attempt to divide "We the People".

The picture you have posted is that of a lynx, I believe, a member of the cat family. Your remarks were well formed and reasonable. The term catty carries a definition of quietly or slyly malicious; spiteful, and your statement does not appear to be any of that. You seem well reasoned and open. I often jest but if I need to explain I have failed.
