The Bible in American Schools - 1700 to 1900

In early American church schools, private schools, and public schools, the Bible was used as a textbook as well as a devotional guide. The 17th century founders of American society discerned in Scripture the patterns by which God directed the whole of human destiny. . .Hence, the methods and aims of education were finally to be governed by the biblical revelation, and in the most fundamental way God was the one true teacher. This view of education was particularly evident among the Puritans who settled New England in the decades following 1630.

The Bible itself was used for learning to read and for reading in the schools; the ABCs were learned by use of Bible names like A is for Adam, B is for Boaz, C is for Caleb, etc.. Bible passages were selected to be read based on level of vocabulary. Bible stories and principles were taught; Bible history was learned by selecting historical passages for reading, and Bible principles were emphasized by memorizing the ten commandments. Attitudes toward God and the Bible were instilled by use of both prose and poetry extolling the Bible as God’s word and by reading the Bible both devotionally and to study English. Passages from Psalms, Proverbs, and the sermon on the mount as well as parts of the Pentateuch, Job, and the prophets were read to teach Biblical morality.

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

One. More. Time. Almost every president's party loses members in the midterm. The Republicans lost far less than the Democrats and will probably regain the House in 2020. There is zero chance the left wing loons will get the Senate, and not much chance you will defeat President Trump. The Mueller report has been released to Congress, with only a few sections redacted. These are required to be redacted by law. Every member of Congress is not cleared to read all of this stuff, and with Democraps leaking info like a sieve, and not being held accountable for their own violations, it is understandable why the unredacted version has been withheld. Most Demodips have not even read the redacted version.
Unlike his predecessors, President Trump refused to exert Executive Authority over any of the investigation, and you STILL say he didn't cooperate. He stopped cooperating after he was cleared of collusion and the Democraplets insisted on continuing a witch hunt, instead of addressing the myriad of problems facing this country. You people will pay in 2020.

The Democrap’s attempts to thwart the e******n of Donald Trump with a failed follow on plan to unseat him have failed miserably. They have signed on a short guy with an attitude, “Baboon Face Nadler” to carry the f**g to become “captain of the ship” reminiscent of the Titanic. The unsinkable Democrap’s ship has just encountered an iceberg (the investigation into their behavior in the past e******n). The ship is sinking, and Nadler is screaming at the top of his voice, “Stay The Course”. Yes the ship is going down, with some of the Democrap’s staying on board who plan to ride it out as the band plays on. Others are fleeing trying to get on lifeboats. Yes the relevance and credibility of the Democrap’s, the Main Stream Media and heads of our Weaponized Government Agencies is gone. The Democrap’s seeking e******n in 2020 are finished. Game Over!
