At the heart of Congress' probe into the president's actions is his claim that former Vice President and 2020 Democratic frontrunner Joe Biden strong-armed the Ukrainian government to fire its top prosecutor in order to thwart an investigation into a company tied to his son, H****r B***n.

But sources ranging from former Obama administration officials to an anti-corruption advocate in Ukraine say the official, Viktor Shokin, was ousted for the opposite reason Trump and his allies claim.

It wasn't because Shokin was investigating a natural gas company tied to Biden's son; it was because Shokin wasn't pursuing corruption among the country's politicians, according to a Ukrainian official and four former American officials who specialized in Ukraine and Europe.

Shokin's inaction prompted international calls for his ouster and ultimately resulted in his removal by Ukraine's parliament.

I actually read the transcript and something that was absolutely stunning and what not only pundits but also Democrats warned about for years is: proof directly from the White House that a foreign leader is trying to get in Trump's good graces by telling him he stayed at his hotel.

The memorandum released Wednesday detailing President Donald Trump's phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky included a comment from Zelensky that anti-corruption watchdogs called clear evidence of the constitutional violations they've warned about since before Trump took office.

While most media reports on Wednesday focused on Trump's request that Zelensky "do us a favor" after the Ukrainian leader raised the question of buying U.S. military equipment, groups including Public Citizen and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) pointed out a less remarked-upon comment from Zelensky that the "last time I traveled to the United States, I stayed in New York near Central Park and I stayed at the Trump Tower."

Zelensky made the remark after the two discussed coordinating an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden with Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, and Attorney General William Barr.

The brief mention of Zelensky's patronage at Trump's property revealed "the for-profit presidency on full display," Public Citizen tweeted.

Trump's refusal to divest from his business when he took office opened the possibility that he could financially benefit when leaders like Zelensky stay at his properties, leaving the U.S. government owing a favor to foreign entities.

"This is what we've been warning about for years: proof directly from the White House that a foreign leader is trying to get in Trump's good graces by telling him he stayed at his hotel," tweeted CREW.

In a pending lawsuit against the president, which was reopened by a federal court earlier this month, CREW argues Trump's violation of the Emoluments Clause has led to unethical financial entanglements with the governments of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and other countries that send delegations to stay in the president's hotels.

I say that because he keeps committing impeachable offenses almost weekly if not daily.
Each and every day more evidence starts piling up he has long been suspected of money laundering in the papers just handed over from the German back known for money laundering is delivered to the FBI.
In New York state his lawyers dmanded if Trump tax returns were released that Trump would get complete immunity that's very interesting and it came from his own lawyers so evidently there's some criminal criminal activity with his taxes sorry wouldn't demand immunity.
This is all just the tip of the iceberg we now have proof that he did withhold money from Ukraine and he did strong arm the Ukraine by withholding funds all proven now. Any true-blooded American weather there Democrat or Republican should be behind removing this man from office.

Trump obviously is acknowledging he asked Zelenskiy for a favor by looking into the Biden thing and reporting back to his personal attorney, Giuliani. On the other hand Zelenskiy says he will do so, and discusses the anti tank weapons he needs to fend off attacks from Russia, which Trump does not tell him he is holding back on, in fact it was reported that Zelenskiy was blindsided when he found out that Trump was delaying or withholding the arms support that congress had appropriated the money for. It was Mulvaney that was blocking the funding, and nobody in the state department, pentagon, or intelligence could figure out what the holdup was. Everyone but Trump seemed to be aware that time was of the essence because of the buildup of tanks by Russian mercenary forces.

Trump personally stabbed the Ukrainian president in the back like the lying weasel he is, and I'm sure it has something to do with giving Putin the time to attack without losing a major number of tanks to sophisticated US antitank weapons. Zelenskiy had no way to anticipate that he wasn't good with Trump and he would be getting the military aid that was promised by the United States of America.

Trump is not making the US look great in the eyes of our allies...he looks pretty damn good to Putin though.

Trump wasn't after dirt on Biden, Biden provided that in a recorded video. What more could Ukraine offer?? LOL! In the transcript, Trump notes that the Ukraine president is surrounding himself with bad folks. I think Trump was just saying to look into that; who else was involved in getting the prosecutor fired and who worked with the previous president who capitulated to that demand, thus obstructing justice in the Ukraine.

The specific favor asked had to do with Crowdstrike, the company linked to the hacked emails and Hillary's server which was never examined.

Bottom line, Trump didn't need help from Ukraine getting dirt on Biden. Biden provided that in living color!
