How have you been?

Tried the last couple of months. The planneddemic and this bizarre e******n has about 'whooped' me. The spike is so bad in this country, but especially in this area. My wife is more afraid than ever.City Hall is closed again, this time for 3 weeks so far.
Many, many people still come to the doors and knock even though we have signs, ( 3'x3')(or 91.44 cm. sq.), at every entrance and there is information on the door, and I try to help them. I have pretty much all the applications that are available and including tax relief for veteran widows and rental assistance for those who have lost jobs due to C***d. City Hall is a hotbed of too little or plain old misinformation.
The e******n has me worried. I hear that they will NOT take away guns, but will just make ammunition super expensive. If that happens, the black market will boom! Not to mention amnesty and Social Security for 11,000,000 i*****l a***ns. He's appointing Obama's cabinet who appointed Clinton's cabinet, there by making the swamp bigger than it was before Trump.
Of course, the e******n was the biggest sham ever pulled in the history of the world! Various courts have thrown out over 50 cases not for lack of evidence, but without even hearing the cases! The thing is, it's no longer 'there is no fraud' to there is fraud but it's not enough to sway the e******n'. So, now it's a question, yes there is fraud but how much is too much, and if there was too much, was there enough to tip the e******n results in Biden's favor. The Democrats say no, but they're the ones being accused.
I'll get off of my stump now.
I've had 3 good doctor reports recently. My kidney function was unchanged, which is good. My family doctor said I was doing well and that my A1C had dropped, not in target yet, but a definite improvement, and my liver doctor has taken me off of stage 4 and reversed it to stage 3, and that's a BIG improvement.
I've got my bike 98% finished! I'm sending a couple of pictures.
Well, I hope you and yours are well and happy and strong,
Your friend,
David

I was shocked to learn that The Emancipation Proclamation was only in respect to those states that succeeded from the Union and refused to rejoin voluntarily. The states that came back to the Union could keep their s***es, as well as the northern s***e owners. That was the case at the time it was written.

Get woke!!!!

I didn't get woke but I sorta got a slap in the face...sorta. The other day ( 2 maybe 3), Biden was very proud of an appointee that he couldn't remember his name. Then, he spoke about an agency that has been closed since 1979 as thought it was still up and running!Somebody on Facebook posted it and I saw it...it was right there. Yesterday, I tried to find it on the web and POOF! it couldn't be found! I looked and looked. Facebook's Mark Zukerburg announced that Facebook would delete any posts that contained any negative speculation about the stealection.
WHAT? Am I living in America or 1940 N**I Germany?

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will share the award as Person of the Year, and once again beat scumbag trump. Now the scumbag will have even more to whine, cry and snivel about, as he departs from the white House to face possible criminal charges in New York.

Not bad for a rod sucker and a doddard.
I heard Kamala got pulled over the other day. The cops said assume the position and she lay down and spread her legs!
We for sure don't want Trump to get any recognition, all he ever did was to get some enemies in the middle east to agree to peace.

BARCELONA — Last month, when Sweden’s TV4, the largest broadcast network in Scandinavia, sent political correspondent Ann Tiberg to cover the U.S. e******n, her producers were so afraid of the possible mayhem awaiting her that they insisted she pack a bulletproof vest, helmet and gas mask. Understandably: The United States had often appeared out of control in previous months, and not just due to C****-**. The president had urged his followers to v**e twice and cryptically told the m*****a group the P***d B**s to “stand by”; peaceful protests sometimes turned ugly, devolving into l**ting and the occasional fatal shooting; showdowns between armed groups were widely predicted for E******n Day.

Happily, Tiberg didn’t need the combat gear. “There was no violence, and not a lot of c***ting — the system worked. And people showed up in numbers never seen before. I thought that was so impressive. That’s what I brought back to my viewers: The U.S. pulled it off.”

Citizens across the Atlantic cheered the e******n results. “Europeans were overwhelmingly happy that Trump lost and Biden won,” says Jon Henley, political reporter for the London-based Guardian. But now, “they’re looking on in shock, horror and disbelief — saying this is not right and this is dangerous.”

But they are paying attention now. “People are deeply dismayed by what they’re seeing unfold,” says Dave Keating, a Connecticut-born politics reporter now working for French, German and British media from Brussels. “Particularly damaging is that the last few weeks have called into question the rule of law and political stability in the U.S.” And at least some political analysts are worried that the violence expected during e******n week may instead take place when the E*******l College v**es are finalized in January and Trump’s fantasies of overturning the results have become moot.

American p**********l e******ns are, naturally, always big news everywhere in the world, but media coverage in Europe is now awash with stories about Trump’s cries of stolen and illegal v**es as well as his mad legal/political dash to overturn the e******n, competing with news of Joe Biden’s Cabinet nominations and his plans to return to the Paris climate agreement and his pledge to revive the t***satlantic bond. Some European media outlets, as well as American, have even called Trump’s machinations an attempted c**p, although Europeans who have lived through actual c**ps tend to have a high bar for use of the word. “We usually think of c**ps as armed, rapid and decisive,” Henley noted. “This, for the moment, is not armed, and it’s certainly not rapid or decisive. But if you look at its intent, and where it might end up, then we probably should consider this a c**p attempt.”

Brussels-based political scientist Roland Freudenstein, director of the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, sees the glass of democracy half-full, as well as half-empty. “On the one hand, the U.S. democracy redeemed itself in the eyes of Europe because the madman was not reelected. On the other hand, there’s a huge discrediting of the U.S. democracy by the incumbent who is basically hollowing out the democratic process from the inside.” Trump’s refusal to accept the results of the e******n is not just weakening American democracy, Freudenstein says, but also democratic governments all over the world. “We always expected he would cause trouble and mischief, but even moderate Republicans thought this would stop after 10 days or two weeks — but it’s not stopping.”

For Marius D**gomir, Director of the Center for Media, Data and Society in Budapest, who grew up in Romania where his family once huddled around the radio listening to Radio Free Europe with the volume low and the drapes closed, Trump’s recent attacks on the e*******l process along with his actions over the past four years are heartbreaking. “America was the model and the dream for Eastern Europe, especially after 1990. But it’s not anymore,” he says, “especially after Trump.”

Seeing Trump place family and friends in positions of power while continuing to make money from official visits to his hotels and resorts was reminiscent to D**gomir of the kleptocracies that emerged after the breakup of the Soviet Union. His colleagues kept asking, “‘Is it really possible for the American president to do wh**ever he wants and to mix his business interests with the position he has, to do bad things with impunity?’ We are used to that in Eastern Europe — but to see it in America was strange,” he says. “People lost the appreciation they once had for America” — all the more over the past month when Trump went after anyone who failed to bend to his insistence that he’d won. The difference, says D**gomir, is that somewhere like Romania or Bulgaria, Trump probably would have prevailed.

Trump’s latest actions have branded him “a saboteur” in France, says English-born historian and author Andrew Hussey, a professor now based in Paris. “He’s regarded as trying to subvert the democratic process” — a big deal in France, where the republic is rooted in that very ideal, which is regarded quite seriously.

“France is now looking at the United States with a mixture of glee and disgust,” he says — with even right-wing parties, like Marine Le Pen’s National Rally, now distancing themselves from the current White House occupant whom they once cheered. Then again, admits Hussey, France “always has a love-h**e relationship with America. They love American pop culture. But they look at the arrogance of someone like Trump and wonder how a so-called republic could allow one individual to wreck it — and sabotage its foreign and domestic policies.” Recent editorials in French papers are quick to condemn Congress for not reining him in long ago — all the more given these past weeks of attacks on the American e******n results.

The GOP’s complicity and outright support of Trump’s attacks is perhaps what most galls European thinkers. “That over 200 Republicans haven’t stood up and said anything is absolutely ridiculous,” says political scientist Freudenstein. “It beggars belief that grown-up politicians can act like this.”

Okay, I stand corrected.

What ultimately happened to the Dutch West India Company brewery.?

I really don't know. I couldn't find anything about it. The company I mentioned was a Dutch trading company, ( I seem to have a recollection of that in school). New Amsterdam covered parts of present-day New York, Connecticut, Delaware, and New Jersey. Evidentially, they got into it with the Brits and the king's men won!
That's all I could find out.

Which is the oldest continuously operating brewery in America. Not the Dutch West India Company is it? Is it still in business?

Yeungling was Chinese. And is still operating.

The Smithonian Magazine say that a German immigrant named David G. Yuengling started the brewery in 1829 under the name Eagle.
It's actually not Chinese owned but is still in the Yuengling family. Robert Yuengling, Jr. Is the present sole owner.
The Dutch West India Company established a colony in America on Manhatten Island called New Amsterdam in 1624. It was conquered by the British in the mid 1660s and renamed New York, after the Duke of York.

I've seen all of that but I've seen NO conservative r**ts, burnings, destruction of property, l**ting, and taking of lives, people and cops too.
I've seen no conservatives run people out of their restaurant.
I've seen no conservatives harassing people trying to eat at s restaurant in numbers.
I've seen no conservatives hit people with fists, sticks, rocks, bottles, bricks, or knock them out.
I've seen no conservatives spit on cops or use a bullhorn in their face.

I HAVE seen liberals do all of these things and more. I'll take a threat any day over burning my house down, or burning my business down, or stealing me blind, or beating the crap out of me.
