I perfer German Shepherds they have a stronger bite than pit bulls. Or Doberman Pinchers but that is just me.

Ouch! My gut said that you could not be right, so I did a little checking. After exhaustive research (actually just a quick Google search), the results are in:

Pit Bull

"The Pitbull has become a breed synonymous with strong jaws, biting and danger. While this dog does not have the highest bite force of the dogs National Geographic tested, it is one of the top four. The Pitbull bite was measured at 235 pounds of pressure. It is the most highly recognized breed for jaw and bite strength."

German Shepherd

"Although the German Shepherd was originally bred as a herding dog, it has been used as a guard and police dog with good reason. This is a powerful and intelligent breed. The German Shepherd's bite measured 238 bite force, just slightly above the Pitbull."

Had I been asked, off the top of my head, which was stronger, I would not have gone with the German Shepherd. It's true after all. We learn something new every day.

That you would have to ask management. I just have to wonder about those who come to a political message board if they don't want to debate politics with those who think differently then themselves...

Maybe they're really insecure in their thoughts and are out looking for others to reinforce their opinions instead of challenging them. I suppose if you keep hitting the 'ignore' button, you'll eventually insulate your little world enough to keep out the opinions that you don't like and the world is so much more agreeable that way? That makes no sense, which means it's probably close to the t***h...

As for me, I enjoy a good argument. Sometimes I might even learn something new...

Ya think? The way these laws are set up, if you so much as sneeze in the direction of one of those alphabet soup identifying dummkopfs, you're looking at some serious prison time. It's all about 'equal protection under law', you know?

Nice candid, up-front admission by the Vice President. Finally the Left shows a little class.

Wow. That's two in one day. Harry Reid made some honest noises about the DNC today as well. As for showing a little class, be careful, don't count your chickens before they're roosted.

Why are you guys here if the only thing you are going to do is put people on ignore--and that goes to both liberals and conservatives. Are your arguments so fragile that only input from those who share our own ideology can be tolerated? That seems to be what it is and if that's what it is that's a sad way to go through life...

Good question. By extension, why is there even an 'ignore' option to start with?

Continuing on my exposé of all things dumb cop, here's the latest form New York's finest:

http://theweek.com/speedreads/669369/police-raided-familys-home-mocked-snapchat--realized-wrong-house?yptr=yahoo

"After handcuffing them, an NYPD officer took a Snapchat photo and shared it with the caption "Merry Christmas Its [sic] NYPD." The image — plus a second picture captioned "Warrant sweeps its [sic] still a party" — showed up in Snapchat's New York City story, visible to anyone in the NYC area."

Now, that's bad enough, but it actually gets worse...

"It was only then that the NYPD realized it had the wrong house, and the family publicly humiliated on social media aren't suspected of any crime."

I have no words for that. There is nothing in my college educated vocabulary to come even close to... That...

Yes, beer. Don't forget the beer. That's what agriculture was invented for.

This what you said:
I'd be out looking for 'real' criminals, not enforcing punitive 'victimless' crimes and harassing people for money because they fail to wear seat belts, etc..

maybe I mis copied and pasted.

I asked where I said that's 'all' they do. What you just quoted is my assertion of what I would be doing in their place. I didn't say they do, or don't do, anything. I have no 'inside' information on what it is that a cop occupies himself with all day (night). I have never spent a day in the life of a cop and honestly have very little interest in doing so. Seems to me you're assigning meanings and intentions to my words that are clearly not there. Please don't do that, it's not nice and has the potential to devolve into misunderstandings.

Yes indeed. One of the very basics upon which several of the others on that list are built. Why didn't I think of that?

Unfortunately those dogs are known to be vicious and for horrific damage when they attack...any person is going to be on guard to their presence and of course aggressiveness...Truly terrible how it was handled..

Not so, Linda! Just like any other dog, they're as vicious as they're taught to be. They're excellent pets when properly treated:

I have personally been around many of the 'bull terrier' breeds and can honestly say that pitbulls are no better or worse than any other. My father bred Staffordshire Bull Terriers as show dogs. Won a bagful of prizes. I remember this one in particular (not my Dad's) that was very skittish around people and would attack another dog on sight. Turns out his previous owner trained and used him in dog fights before my friend 'rescued' him. All of the others were the same as any other dog. Mostly stronger and tougher but all had similar temperaments.

They do have an amazing bite pressure and can inflict severe damage if they should attack. That's just another good reason to keep one around the house if a good guard dog is in order.

I have an English friend who owns a public house (bar, in American parlance). He lives above and lets his dog roam around downstairs when it's closed. He woke up one night to the sounds of a loud yell and a window being smashed. He goes downstairs to find the dog on a bench seat barking out of a broken window and blood splatters across the floor. He called the police who came, took statements, etc. and started their investigation.

A few hours later, the dog gets nauseous and spits up a fairly large chunk of meat. My friend called the cops again and they picked up this chunk of meat for analysis. Turns out it was our burglar's calf muscle. The dog had ripped this guy's leg apart and swallowed the muscle! Cops picked him up at a local hospital. Poor guy, loses a leg and still goes to prison.

The dog, by the way, was a Great Dane. (Gotcha! I know what you were thinking!) I never looked at him the same way after that. Personally, I prefer the Rottweiler. Now there's a dog!

I can't speak for what happened in this case. As for myself, if I were in that position, I'd have made every attempt to safeguard my dogs before they kicked the door in. Be kind of hard to do while handcuffed and locked in the back of a cop car though...

Who should have asked? The cops or the owners?
