House Republicans spent the week rhetorically hiding from a mountain of evidence that President Trump sought to extort Ukraine into helping him in the 2020 e******n. Over in the Senate, Lindsay Graham took a slightly different tact: physically hiding from an Iraq War veteran who had concerns about the commander-in-chief.

On Friday morning, Graham was confronted on Capitol Hill by Jeff Key, who engaged the senator about as respectfully as possible. Graham couldn’t handle it. Here’s the exchange:

KEY: “I see how you’re berated in the press and I honestly believe that you believe in our democracy.”

GRAHAM: “I do.”

KEY: “I’m a Marine, I went to Iraq. I believe as I believe that you do that President Trump is not acting in accordance to his oath, the oath that you took and I did to defend the Constitution.”

GRAHAM: [unintelligible stammering]

KEY: “You took an oath.”

GRAHAM: “Yeah I did, I don’t agree with you, I gotta go.”

Graham then abruptly turned his back on Key and disappeared behind a closed door. “Is that it?” Key said as Graham retreated. “That’s it,” the senator said before closing the door behind him.

Like his Republican colleagues, Graham has been unable to address the substance of the impeachment inquiry, instead opting to bash the process and indulge conspiracy theories about Deep State efforts to take down the president.

Sadly, his deflection efforts aren’t limited to cable TV hits. On Thursday, Graham, who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, launched a probe into Joe Biden’s relationship with Ukraine. The investigation comes a month after he was pressured to begin one by Trump and his allies. He refrained from doing so at the time, he explained to the Washington Post, because didn’t want to “turn the Senate into a circus.”

That's ok, the entire Russian witch hunt was based upon lies. Schiff said he'd seen unequivocal evidence that Trump colluded with Russia. LOL!

As for Ukraine, the one hacker was have in custody who claims to have done some of the hacking is from Romania. Fact is, the FBI, CIA and all other US intel agencies just took the word of Crowdstrike and didn't even look. We KNOW for a fact that the leaders of the FBI and CIA were in it for Hillary, trying to help her and hurt Trump.

The only thing we have that is definitely Russian are social media pages which also helped Hillary; those Russians were just disrupting and in actuality, making internet money with click bait, nothing more.

So, if you are correct, it shouldn't be a problem actually looking into it since it was never actually looked into.

Oh the hypocrisy of the left, who seem to think that the ends justify the means.

As an honest man, slatten, do you honestly believe Schiff when he says he doesn't know the whistle blower or who it is? Vindman?

As an honest man do you honestly not see the potential for corruption in the Biden/Burisma connection? As was said on Chris Wallace's show this morning, the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, if you don't look.

Also as an honest man, do you not see that Trump could actually be interested in uncovering corruption rather than getting dirt on a political opponent?

Going back to the Kavanaugh hearings, do you, as an honest man, actually think all those victims of abuse by Kavanaugh were real when not one corroborated any of the others??

Back to the quid pro quo, as an honest man, do you honestly think there truly was when the only "evidence" is what people thought or assumed to be or understood to be but not a single one can say that Trump articulated that to them; when not a person on the planet can say Trump told them he wanted the investigations in exchange for the military aid?

As an honest man I will say that I too, think Trump wanted the investigations in exchange for the military aid to a degree, but it was released and we have nothing, although in Ukraine there has been a criminal referral of H****r B***n and Burisma to their version of their investigative/legal agencies. So, it would appear that Ukraine actually got the message as well as they got their military aid. And in the US we are now going to investigate the very same thing with a treaty of information exchange/cooperation fully in place.

But again, do I, as an honest man, see this as getting dirt on a political opponent or investigating corruption where there happens to be a political opponent? I certainly could not see that Trump would be blind to the fact that the corruption he wants investigated is bad for the democratic party. Certainly not, but does that mean it should not be pursued? Do we give a pass to p**********l candidates?? Would that be in the best interest of the country or honest with the American people?

I think my point has been made here. The funny thing to me is taht the democratic party could actually beat Trump on a combination of issues AND character but they, themselves, lack the character to rise to that challenge. Instead, they have gone to the extreme left and have, in fact, attacked those of their own who espouse more traditional democratic values.

Trump can be impeached but not unseated. That's a fact. There is corruption here that needs to be rooted out. That's a fact. It's time to do that, rather than continue this circus charade. Amazing as it sounds, Trump has the high ground on this and people are seeing more and more who and what the democratic party is about; they see Schiff and like me, that is all they need.

Who gives a rats ass what your opinion is. You know hardly any Law. I've read your posts and you are nothing more than a walking talking point. And a bad one at that. The Judge could be on solid ground, however; he is biased. In actual court of Law would probably have to recuse himself if he was going to hear the case. There are just as many learned opinions from Legal experts that say this was not impeachable. Russia's a joke. Their economy is the size of Italy's. Their one aircraft carrier is broken down. Trump has given neighboring countries much more lethal assistance than Obama did, yet you are so blinded by partisanship you don't honestly compare. China is the real enemy. Since all you wuss liberals have suddenly turned into hawks please tell me what our National Interests are in the Ukraine except to keep the industrial war complex healthy? Please keep up your whining and impeach Trump. This is the death nail for the Democrats in 2020. My opinion is backed up by the latest swing state polls and Independents being polled.

Like your former icon used to say, "Have hope." Just don't be too disappointed when your hopes are shattered by yet another Trump win.
