Well, for the most part, they're absolutely correct. That's why the Tea Party movement was created. It's also why Donald Trump is having the success he's having (partially).
And, I am inclined to be in agreement with most of the Libertarian platform. There are a few sticking points that I disagree, but mostly I agree with Libertarians. I am especially aligned with them on fiscal policy, partially on foreign policy, the role of government, constitutional principles, etc. Freedom, being the overarching goal.
That being said, they've never been able to get out front, raise the capital and put forth a viable candidate that can compete with the establishment parties. That's why Ron and Rand Paul ran on the Republican ticket.
The Republican party used to be the conservative and constitutional principled party. However, the establishment progressive faction of the party has taken over most of it. There are but a handful of guys in Washington that are principled constitutional conservatives (not just in name, but in action). And one of those guys is TED CRUZ.
Therefore, it is my contention that if you claim to be a conservative or a conservative leaning Libertarian, then TED CRUZ is the overwhelming obvious choice.
Donald Trump is only in the race to destroy the Republican party and help Hillary win in November as he has NO intention of actually being the president. I have a much deeper theory on Donald Trump's intentions and situation that prompted him to run, but I'll spare you that one.
Kasich is also still in it to block Ted Cruz from winning the Rep nomination outright. Kasich recently accepted $700,000 from George Soros to help fund his campaign. Kasich appears to be campaigning to be Donald Trump's vice prez. He has no chance of winning anything and every chance of playing the spoiler to Ted Cruz.
Everyone knows that billionaire George Soros is the antithesis to all things good for America. George is behind Hillary to get her elected and Kasich is his "Judas" helping him get it done. And it appears that he is well on his way to getting what he wants.
