If god so loved the world that he gave his only son to save it, why did he make the rule that his son's sacrifice was required to save the world?
Our actions have consequences.
And perhaps in order to atone for the greatness of our sin, the greatest sacrifice must be made.
And even if there was just one sinner in the world, Jesus still would give his life to atone for the sins of that person.
This shows the limitless love that God has for us, that He gives His own Life to save us. Both collectively and
individually.
And some say, 'well, God knew that the time that Jesus would be in the grave would be short, so no big deal...'
They are missing the point. Jesus shows us the way. His death destroyed death so that the Gates of Heaven are now open to us, and as He is the Resurrection, so we shall join Him in our Resurrection.
It's all about us. We are God's children. God loves us and wants us to freely choose to return home to Him.
And God's Creation is a creation of Law, of Cause and Effect, of Nature. Who are we to suggest to God that His Laws are flawed? This is the height of arrogance!

Yes, this is very true. The Catholic Church is the Church Militant and is vehemently h**ed the most by the evil one and the demons.
I recently heard an exorcist comment on the Bible. There is one particular passage of scripture that demons cannot stand to hear, when Jesus proclaims to Peter that he is the Rock upon whom Jesus will build His Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
This illustrates the reality of the battle raging in our midst, with the Church on the offensive and the powers of evil hiding behind the gates of their stronghold, but those gates will be destroyed and evil will be vanquished.
We have a powerful weapon, if we
decide to use it, against which Satan has no defense.
Humility.

" BALTIMORE, MARYLAND: An uproar erupted this week over an email from Johns Hopkins Medicine's chief diversity officer, Dr. Sherita Hill Golden, listing groups she defined as 'privileged', per New York Post.
"In a monthly 'diversity digest', Golden categorized white people, heterosexuals, cisg****r people, males, Christians, English speakers, and other groups as having a set of 'unearned benefits'. Her comments set off a v***l backlash on social media, with many critics voicing outrage and condemnation over the definitions. "

She is right about only one thing. Christians have not done anything to earn the benefit of Salvation in the Lord. Christians are the beneficiaries of the Lord's infinite, unconditional Love.
imagine the FORD emblem. The name "FORD" inside an oval. Or, of you will, inside a circle. Hence, FORD is circled. The problem is circled.

I agree. They were really popular before I was old enough to care. Now, i find them boring. I do remember listening to the 8 track of Deep Purple tho
Deep Purple is one of my favorite bands π
I think they are still active but no original members? I know Jon Lord died.
I only listen to the "Smoke on the Water " era of the band. A few great albums. With the heavy bass, lower octave organ and guitar they really had a "Purple " sound!

I totally agree that Pearl Jam is one of the better 90's groups. If it wasn't for Nirvana I would like Pearl Jam a lot more. As it is, when I want grunge, Nirvana is my flannel.

You're right! That IS a cool waltz.
The entire album "Waiting for the Sun" which includes that song is VERY unconventional and VERY cool.
In fact, Pearl Jam's "Alive" contains a guitar riff that copies the main riff in "Five to One" from Waiting for the Sun.
I know this because I play both songs on my guitar πΈ π

Read the novel "Lamb- the Gospel According to Biff, Christ's childhood pal" by Christopher Moore.
A very funny yet poignant novel with a surprise ending.

Between the years 1861-1865 the United States found itself in the midst of a bitter civil war over the issue of s***ery, and several other serious disagreements. By the time the North won the war nearly 620,000 soldiers had perished. There were many in the North who were so embittered that the South had d**gged them into such a deadly conflict that they wanted the South to pay dearly.
At the end of the war, a group of Southerners gained an audience with President Abraham Lincoln. His gentle, kind and friendly personality quickly softened the hearts of his once-hardened foes and the Southerners left the interview with a deep respect for the man who had been their bitter enemy. Not long afterward, a northern congressman criticized Lincoln for "befriending the enemy!" He suggested that he should have had them shot for being t*****rs instead of welcoming them!
I love Lincoln's response. He said, simply , "Am I not destroying my enemies by making them my friends?"
If you're serving the Lord β- you can expect your share of enemies. Don't let a root of bitterness grow up because of them β- but rather, seek to win them over with gentleness, kindness, and even love. Show your enemies the Lord's grace and His peace through your Spirit-controlled response...and in so doing, you'll "heap coals" upon their heads! Satan wants to provoke you through their hatred and opposition. Don't let him! Instead, shock your enemies β- not with angry retaliation...but with Spirit empowered LOVE! Win them over; with so much work to be done, we need all the help we can get.
