Southwest Airlines announced Thursday it will reduce its workforce by 2,000 employees and cut service to four airports after posting a major loss to begin the year.

CEO Bob Jordan said in an early morning news release on the company’s first-quarter results that it would adapt and seek growth to end the year and that the changes announced were necessary to achieve that goal. Southwest lost $231 million — or 39 cents per diluted share — from January to March, the release said. That is compared with a loss of $159 million — or 27 cents per share — loss for the same period in 2023.

How ridiculously entitled are the pro-Hamas "protesters" storming college campuses and setting up illegal encampments across the country? With numerous arrests and suspensions taking place, some are now demanding "amnesty" so that their actions don't impact their future careers.

No, I'm not kidding. The terrorist supporters want to avoid the whole reaping part of sowing and reaping.

Maryam Alwan figured the worst was over after New York City police in r**t gear arrested her and other protesters on the Columbia University campus, loaded them onto buses and held them in custody for hours.

But the next evening, the college junior received an email from the university. Alwan and other students were being suspended after their arrests at the “Gaza Solidarity Encampment,” a tactic colleges across the country have deployed to calm growing campus protests against the Israel-Hamas war.

The students’ plight has become a central part of protests, with students and a growing number of faculty demanding their amnesty. At issue is whether universities and law enforcement will clear the charges and withhold other consequences, or whether the suspensions and legal records will follow students into their adult lives.

Why would Maryam Alwan think the worst was over after she was taken into custody? Did she think that being arrested was just a performative exercise to provide her with clout among the pro-Hamas contingent? The answer is that she probably did think that. I'm sure Alwan fully expected not to be charged and for her suspension to be lifted immediately. That didn't happen, and now she wants "amnesty."

Well, I'm sorry to break it to her, but that's not how any of this works. In the real world, when you lash out and break the law, leading to your arrest, that record follows you. To the extent that it prevents her from getting a good job later, those are the justified consequences of her actions. If these terrorist simps didn't want to take the ride, they shouldn't have bought the ticket.

For international students facing suspension, there is the added fear of losing their visas, said Radhika Sainath, an attorney with Palestine Legal, which helped a group of Columbia students file a federal civil rights complaint against the school Thursday. It accuses Columbia of not doing enough to address discrimination against Palestinian students.

“The level of punishment is not even just draconian, it feels like over-the-top callousness,” Sainath said.

Every single one of them should lose their visas. Being in America as a foreigner is a privilege, not a right. If you come here and break the law, you have no business remaining here. To call that draconian is ridiculous. If anything, the punishments doled out so far have been too lenient. T***h be told, these students should have all been expelled, not just suspended.

More than 40 students were arrested at a Yale demonstration last week, including senior Craig Birckhead-Morton. He is due to graduate May 20 but says the university has not yet told him if his case will be submitted to a disciplinary panel. He worries about whether he will receive a diploma and if his acceptance to Columbia graduate school could be at risk.

“The school has done its best to ignore us and not tell us what happens next,” said Birckhead-Morton, a history major.

Notice that Craig Birckhead-Morton expects the university to operate with order and fairness. Yet, he provided none of that when he helped set up an illegal encampment that prevented Jews from entering buildings and harassed them with genocidal slogans. He shouldn't get his diploma, and he certainly shouldn't be accepted into graduate school after his behavior.

All of this makes sense when you realize most of these "protesters" think like children. Many of them are affirmative action students who got into these schools over far more qualified individuals because of the identity boxes they check. Their entire lives, the system they detest has given them special treatment and helped them move forward. Is it any wonder they expect that same treatment again?

Webster's defines “i***t” as a “stupid person” or a “person of low intelligence.”

Lenin found i***ts “useful” if while in their state of low intelligence he could manipulate them to propagandize the masses.

Lenin and Stalin were said to privately despise i***ts but found them extremely helpful in keeping society “loyal” under their tyrannical grasp.

Sadly, with the departure of the Soviet Union, neither their i***ts nor their usefulness seems to have been extinguished. In fact, those who foment h**e against what is good have found their numbers to be necessary in order to achieve the level of media exposure they have as it pertains to the pro-terrorist demonstrations taking place on American campuses.

This morning’s headlines are the most recent example. We in America awoke to a story that had been sourced from the Hamas terror group and amplified by the useful i***ts at CNN. The story claims that “mass graves” are being found in Gaza next to hospitals where the IDF has supposedly been burying all of the victims of the Gaza conflict.

Going so far as to attempt to evoke the “mass grave” language that Hitler was blamed for, CNN – a major global “news” voice repeated the information from Hamas without one ounce of due diligence.

CNN has done this a lot.

Supposed Palestinian “death tolls” have been expanded more than a hundredfold of what they actually are, there is never an explanation of truly innocent Palestinians vs Hamas operatives, and the list goes on.

There is also never a mention made as to the overwhelming loyalty to Hamas that the people of Gaza hold – more than 95% supporting the terror group.

Prime Minister Netanyahu produced the evidence that the graves in question were dug by Palestinians and dug months before the recent “discovery.”

Nevertheless, the lackeys take the Terrorist’s words and print them as fact.

On the American campus the George Soros foundations then take the supposedly “reported news” and whip up violence on campus after campus here. These useful i***ts then recruit other useful i***ts to “protest” or encamp, and recently have begun to block classroom access and physically attack Jewish students.

When asked why they were participating—multiple students on multiple campuses responded by saying they were unclear what exactly they were protesting for (…or against.)

Cue the next round of idiocy as elected class i***ts like Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Thlaib run to cameras and denounce “police violence” when they are called in to break up the destructive protestors.

So much idiocy, so much waste, so much h**e.

STOP.

The uninformed, misplaced and maladjusted could have their wish granted if they weren’t such people of low intelligence.

If they joined the side of good and simply demanded that Hamas—a terrorist group—put down their weapons, surrendered the evil doers, and released the hostages. Everybody could go home in peace.

That’s how simple this conflict is.

It is the morally right ending to the conflict.

And it IS how the conflict will end.

It simply could just happen in peace if the outrage, hostility, and anger were spent in telling the terrorists what to do instead of the law-abiding supporters of Israel.

But because of the i***ts, the conflict rages on.

But that’s the thing with i***ts, from the White House to the campus, from CNN to the New York Times, they are being “used.” And the problem with “useful ones” is being unable to tell if they enjoy being used or not.

Sometimes, good parents raise bad kids. It is possible to do everything right and still churn out a real piece of post-digested food. It happens. It just doesn’t happen very often, which is why it’s pretty easy to look at the mutant mob and professional protester class currently staging mini-Beer Hall Putschs they hope will weave together into a one, large real opportunity for them to murder as many white people, normal people, straight people, non-obedient people and especially Jews as possible. F*****ts always have a real problem with Jews.

So, where did all these bi-pedal piles of garbage on college campuses in blue states across the country come from? It’s really easy to just say “bad parents,” and it’s also true – most of their parents truly suck. They’re probably “down” with the cause, proud of their little Goebbels wannabes and aspiring Himmlers; happy to drop more than the average American annual salary on the further indoctrination of their drone. But these goose-stepping goon squad members wouldn’t be able to exist without an education system that keeps them ignorant of history and unable to think for themselves.

Progressivism – be it in the form of c*******m, socialism or f*****m – requires an unquestioning, obedient population to thrive. Luckily, it is human nature to question things, either in a quest for knowledge or simple curiosity. That means most people’s minds are not fertile ground for stupidity. But some people’s heads – much like most OPP l*****ts – are naturally full of fertilizer and not much else – a vacuum of intelligence in which these poisonous ideas take root and flourish.

It is not surprising that an American student would have no idea what the story and t***h behind “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is. Honestly, it’s not really an issue on this half of the planet. What is surprising, and a testament to just how effective the Democratic Party has been in indoctrinating kids, is how even after these protesters learn that it is a literal call for genocide against Jews created by terrorists and terrorist sympathizers, these morons still chant it.

At no point in the process, no matter the similarities between what the N**is did and what these new N**is are doing, does it occur to any of them that they are actually what they claim to h**e.

You have to be a special kind of stupid to miss it, or woefully educated by a system no longer teaching kids to how to think, just to conform.

This is what happens when the walls of your public schools are littered with f**gs and pictures dedicated to the sex life of the purple-haired, pierced, g****r-dysphoric lesbian literature major from Smith College or frustrated theater nerd who studied ethnic dance at Brown who is now teaching 2nd graders how basic addition and subtraction are colonizing ideals created to advance both the patriarchy and w***e s*******y.

But bad school systems can only exist if bad parents allow them to. I’m not talking about in major Democrat-controlled cities where no one in the political class gives a single damn about who schools are graduating kids who can’t read, they aren’t going to college at a high enough rate.

I’m talking about the well-to-do suburban, chardonnay-sipping mom with the “ready to virtue-signal” excitement should (fingers crossed) at least one of their kids turn out to be “t***s.” The parents who order several copies of the latest children’s book published by NAMBLA because it might get “banned” by an elementary school, but would burn down the place should a kid bring in a Bible. They elect like-minded people to the school board, then stop paying attention or caring about failure to teach or anything except the fundraiser to collect money to help all the 22-year-old illiterate in their own language and unable to speak English i*****l a***n “10th graders” on their “sexual assault in every district in the state” tour, while making sure to set aside a little extra for some touch-up work on their face and neck tattoos.

These are people who are such stereotypes that if they weren’t real and you wrote fiction about them it would be considered some kind of h**e crime.

They suck as parents, belching out entitled brats with walls of participation ribbons and zero accomplishments. Arrogant and ignorant, born on 3rd base while demanding high-fives from everyone like they’d hit a triple. Either spanked too much or not enough, their kids inflict all the anger and confusion that goes with never coming within a country mile of receiving the approval of their pharmaceutically numbed birthing persons.

Now they’re on campus, calling for the extermination of everyone who won’t bow down to them while their parents act with all the concern a tornado has for the destruction in its wake.

Parents who moved to a status city with highly ranked schools never bothered to care about what the schools were teaching or whether or not their kids were learning. Now they’re in the quad, picking up where Hitler left off. These reliable Democratic Party v**ers are everything wrong with the country.

I’d say them and Joe Biden are everything wrong with the country, but Joe Biden is one of them, no need to separate. His kids went the drug abuse route rather than activism, but the starting line was the same. The upbringing was the same.

What we’re watching now is the end result of a failed public education system more interested in making sure students can name more pronouns than states or presidents; they can count in microaggressions but can’t do math. None of which is by accident – an educated population able to think for itself would never tolerate what Democrats do or v**e for them to do it in the first place.

The millions of i*****l i*******ts storming the United States border as a result of President Joe Biden’s reckless policies is no accident.

With Biden’s approval rating too far gone to recover and the 2024 p**********l e******n getting closer, the Democratic Party needs a solution to save themselves.

Insert a broken border— which allows for millions of i*****l a***ns to v**e in U.S. e******ns.

And who will they v**e for? The candidate who is rolling out the red carpet for them.

Republican lawmakers have warned that i*****l a***ns could r******r to v**e and cast b****ts in favor of Democratic candidates, swaying the e******n in Biden’s direction.

“If you look at what’s going on at the border when you’ve got so many i*****l a***ns pouring into our country, imagine the efforts used to get them to r******r to v**e and that’s what this is all about,” Secretary of State Michael Watson (R-Miss.) “It’s about control, it’s about continuing their power, and unfortunately that puts our country in a terrible position, so it’s immediate and it’s something where we hope they will respect our request to stop the program.”

Democrats have high hopes that their immigration policy will import v**ers to make up for the loss of Biden v**ers due to his policies that have caused issues in America such as inflation and crime.

A left-wing University of Utah student admitted to Turning Point USA and conservative commentator Charlie Kirk that the reason Biden refuses to close the border is so that he can secure millions of v**es that he otherwise wouldn’t receive from Americans.

“How many i******s are coming across the border every day? Kirk asked, noting about ten to 15,000 i*****l i*******ts are crossing the border daily.

“And they’re all gonna v**e Democrat,” the student admitted. “The i******s, they’re coming here. They’re gonna v**e Democrat and we’re going to win.”

The student then proceeded to say “Who cares” about the millions of i*****l i*******ts crossing the southern border and saying he believes the U.S. should adopt a “one world government.”

According to a recent Axios Vibes survey by the Harris Poll, more than half of Americans support mass deportations of i*****l a***ns— including 42 percent of Democrats. Crime, drugs, and violence were their top concern with a wide-open southern border.

In addition, 30 percent of Democrats and 46 percent of Republicans also believe in ending birthright citizenship.

I’m not going to dive too much into this unless liberal commentators want to kick this hornet’s nest. Republican South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem wrote in her new book that she had to put down the family dog, Cricket. It had behavioral issues, so it went off to the farm. Noem was trying to get the dog to assist in pheasant hunting. It failed, so it was k**led (via Associated Press):

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem — a potential running mate for presumptive Republican p**********l candidate Donald Trump — is getting attention again. This time, it’s for a new book where she writes about k*****g an unruly dog, and a smelly goat, too.

The Guardian obtained a copy of Noem’s soon-to-be released book, “No Going Back: The T***h on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward.” In it, she tells the story of the ill-fated Cricket, a 14-month-old wirehaired pointer she was training for pheasant hunting.

She writes, according to the Guardian, that the tale was included to show her willingness to do anything “difficult, messy and ugly” if it has to be done. But backlash was swift against the Republican governor, who just a month ago drew attention and criticism for posting an infomercial-like video about cosmetic dental surgery she received out-of-state.

[…]

On the way home from the hunting trip, Noem writes that she stopped to talk to a family. Cricket got out of Noem’s truck and attacked and k**led some of the family’s chickens, then bit the governor.

Noem apologized profusely, wrote the distraught family a check for the deceased chickens, and helped them dispose of the carcasses, she writes. Cricket “was the picture of joy” as all that unfolded.

“I h**ed that dog,” Noem writes, deeming her “untrainable.”

“At that moment,” Noem writes, “I realized I had to put her down.” She led Cricket to a gravel pit and k**led her.

Noem is a potential running mate for Donald Trump. She might have p**********l aspirations in the long run, too. Yet, while this story isn’t disqualifying, it rehashes the 2012 game the media played with Mitt Romney and Seamus. The Romney family pet got placed on top of a car in a carrier after a diarrhea incident in the 1980s. It’s not a game worth playing, liberal media. Have you forgotten that Barack Obama ate a dog? When Jim Treacher was at the Daily Caller in 2012, he found that out. Obama wrote about it in one of his books:

With Lolo, I learned how to eat small green chill peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy). Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths. He explained that a man took on the powers of wh**ever he ate: One day soon, he promised, he would bring home a piece of tiger meat for us to share.”

Yep, that’s Barack Obama, writing about his childhood with his stepfather Lolo Soetoro in Indonesia, from Chapter Two of his bestseller Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.

“So what? It was a long time ago,” you say. “He was a lot younger. Customs are different there. He was just doing what his stepfather told him. And hey, you can’t even prove that the dogs were ever left on top of a car, you r****t.”

Hey, wh**ever you have to tell yourself, libs. Say what you want about Romney, but at least he only put a dog on the roof of his car, not the roof of his mouth. And whenever you bring up the one, we’re going to bring up the other.

It’s no fun when we push back, is it? That’s why it’s so much fun.

And let’s not forget Commander Biden’s resident Cujo, who got the boot from the White House because it couldn’t stop chomping on other people. Democrats have a worse track record on this; nothing tops eating a dog.

Also, Obama, you’re a monster.

A Quick Bible Study: Jesus was Jewish – Fact not Opinion
Myra Kahn Adams ~ April 28, 2024

Born and raised Jewish, Jesus found me at age 20. He “found me” because I was not seeking someone about whom I knew nearly zero. However, I did know that Jesus was Jewish, a startling fact I learned at age eight.

One day, my paternal grandmother talked about numerous famous, talented Jews, both living and dead. Considering the Jewish population's size, she marveled at their tremendous impact, influence, and contributions to every aspect of society. Then Grandma Kahn exclaimed, “Even Jesus was Jewish!” That shocking news contributed to my growing confusion, disgust, and dismay over why our family did not celebrate Christmas.

Throughout my life, I have met adult Jews who did not know that Jesus was Jewish, which I believe is an intentionally hidden and rarely discussed fact. Here is a true story:

Years ago, I chatted with a gentleman at a party who mentioned he was an Orthodox Jew. That information prompted me to ask what, at the time, was my favorite question: “Why was Jesus born Jewish?” His answer was memorable, “Jesus wasn’t Jewish,” he replied. My jaw dropped, and initially, I thought he was kidding until realizing he was not. After a short conversation volley, he said, “Well, that’s your opinion,” I answered, “Not an opinion but a fact,” and he walked away.

Among my fellow Jews, there is much misinformation and “f**e news” about the Jewish Jesus, starting with my deceased parents. During Christmas time, a few years before my mother passed, I told her that she had something in common with Mary. I said, “You are both Jewish mothers.” She looked at me quizzically and said, “I thought Mary was a Catholic statue.”

Years before that, when visiting my parents in Florida, my extremely non-religious father was arguing with me about wearing a cross and upsetting my mother. I calmly asked him, “What religion was Jesus?” He yelled, “Jesus was Catholic.”

Now, let's turn to what the Bible says about “Catholic Jesus,” who descended from King David. We learn he was a rabbi who taught and quoted Hebrew scripture in synagogues, celebrated Jewish holidays, debated and interpreted the Torah, met face-to-face with Moses and Elijah at the T***sfiguration, was buried according to Jewish customs, and so on.

Due to space considerations, most of today’s passages are about Jesus speaking in the synagogue, proving He was Jewish.

Matthew’s gospel, the first book of the New Testament, was written to educate and prove to Jewish readers that Jesus was their Messiah. Matthew showed that Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament scriptures and Messianic prophecies through His ministry. Matthew’s opening verse was intentionally provocative:

“This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham..” (Matthew 1:1). Matthew mentions that Jesus taught in specific synagogues:

“Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people” (Matthew 4:23).

“Coming to his hometown, [Nazareth], he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked” (Matthew 13:54).

In the “Sermon on the Mount,” Jesus proclaims his mission:

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them” (Matthew 5:17).

The “Law” to which Jesus refers is the first five books of the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible, also known as the “Torah” or “Law of Moses.” The “Prophets” are Hebrew Bible books such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and many more. When Jesus states that He came to fulfill “the Law or the Prophets,” He refers to the entire Hebrew Bible.

Mark’s gospel records that Jesus healed a man in a synagogue, while Luke wrote about Jesus’s dramatic confrontation with a demon who knew Jesus:

“In the synagogue [at Capernaum in Galilee], there was a man possessed by a demon, an impure spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice, ‘Go away! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!’ ‘Be quiet!’ Jesus said sternly. ‘Come out of him!’ Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him” (Luke 4:33-35).

Before that revealing story, Luke reported a synagogue event where Jesus quotes from the prophet Isaiah. Jesus reveals that Father God has anointed him to preach, heal, liberate you from sin, proclaim salvation, and announce the arrival of the Messianic Age. As a result of His reading, Jesus had a public relations problem that we quote afterward:

“He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day, he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:

‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.’ Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down.

“The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, ‘Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing ’ ” (Luke 4:16-21).

The synagogue audience understood the gravity of Jesus, saying, “Today, this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing,” and reacted accordingly:

“All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. They got up, drove him out of the town, and took him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to throw him off the cliff. But he walked right through the crowd and went on his way” (Luke 4: 28-30).

We only scratched the surface, proving that Jesus was Jewish. Spread the word to your Jewish friends if you dare. Some might be as startled as eight-year-old Myra.

When you visit one of the many Malls in the nation, there is always a map at the entrance with a big X showing "You Are Here!" We are either at, or exceptionally near, the crossroads of economic collapse. Just what the originators of the Federal Reserve system long ago intended. virginiagentleman

The Federal Reserve has a $34.5 trillion problem.

And the problem is growing.

Yes, I’m talking about the national debt.

How is the debt the Fed’s problem?

It hamstrings the Fed’s ability to fight price inflation.

In a recent interview, Crescat Capital macro strategist Tavi Costa told Kitco News that soaring debt levels could ultimately render the central bank “powerless” and “irrelevant” in the price inflation fight.

That’s because the two primary weapons the Fed uses against price inflation are interest rate increases and balance sheet reductions. Both become increasingly difficult to wield as the national debt spirals upward.

"At some point, the debt problem is going to be so large... that will cause the Fed to become almost irrelevant because they can't raise rates,” Costa said.

Every day that interest rates stay elevated raises the U.S. government’s borrowing cost. Rising interest rates drove Uncle Sam’s interest payments to over 35 percent as a percentage of total tax receipts in fiscal 2023. In other words, the government is already paying more than a third of the taxes it collects on interest expenses, and those interest payments are rising every month.

The federal government spent $288.01 billion in interest expense to finance the national debt in the first quarter of fiscal 2024. That was more than national defense ($238 billion) and more than Medicare ($168 billion). The only higher spending category was Social Security at $351 billion.

And yet the borrowing and spending continues.

The Biden administration blows through over half a trillion dollars every single month. The national debt eclipsed $34 trillion for the first time on Dec. 29. It grew by a half-trillion dollars in less than five months. This is a massive amount of fiscal stimulus during a time when the economy is growing normally and employment is strong. Costa said, “There is no reason to see this level of spending outside of the political reasons of e******ns coming and so forth," adding that the spending is “feeding a structural inflationary problem.”

“There are many inflationary structural pillars … but one of the main ones is reckless fiscal spending.”

The Federal Reserve Knows Borrowing and Spending Is a Problem
This is no secret to the Federal Reserve. In fact, a 2022 paper published by the Kansas City Fed admits the central bank can’t fight price inflation with monetary policy alone.

Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago economist Leonardo Melosi and John Hopkins University economist Francesco Bianchi authored the paper. In the abstract, they state, “This increase in inflation could not have been averted by simply tightening monetary policy.”

In a nutshell, federal government fiscal policy adds to inflationary pressures and makes it more difficult for the Fed to effectively wield its monetary policy weapons.

“Trend inflation is fully controlled by the monetary authority only when public debt can be successfully stabilized by credible future fiscal plans. When the fiscal authority is not perceived as fully responsible for covering the existing fiscal imbalances, the private sector expects that inflation will rise to ensure sustainability of national debt. As a result, a large fiscal imbalance combined with a weakening fiscal credibility may lead trend inflation to drift away from the long-run target chosen by the monetary authority.”

In this paper – published by the Fed – the authors concede that merely tinkering with interest rates won’t slay inflation if the government continues to spend far beyond its means.

Also, notice that Melosi and Bianchi admit that the government depends on inflation to enable borrowing and spending. In other words, Uncle Sam leans heavily on the inflation tax.

The federal government not only depends on the central bank to keep its borrowing costs down by suppressing interest rates, but it also counts on the Fed to enable its spending spree by soaking up some of the debt.

The U.S. Treasury depends on the Fed putting its big fat thumb on the bond market in order to facilitate government borrowing. As the central bank buys bonds through quantitative easing, it creates artificial demand and holds interest rates artificially low. This allows the U.S. Treasury to issue more bonds than it otherwise could at a lower interest cost.

And how does the Fed pay for these bonds?

By printing money… the ONLY culprit behind inflation… an INCREASE in the money supply (notice that I didn’t say price inflation).

The central bank doesn’t literally print $100 bills in the basement of the Eccles Building, but the effect is the same. The Fed creates digital money, sends it to the seller, takes possession of the bonds, and then holds the Treasuries on its balance sheet. This process is called “debt monetization.”

Without the central bank's mechanizations, the U.S. government wouldn't be able to borrow and spend to the extent that it does. Congress wouldn't be able to sustain deficits running in the trillions of dollars year after year. Instead, it would have to rely on direct taxation and borrowing smaller amounts for shorter terms. Because higher taxes are politically untenable, the government would be forced to constrain its spending, putting a natural check on both the warfare and the welfare state.

But with the Federal Reserve monetary operation in play, the government can borrow and spend far more than it otherwise could. And that means the government is bigger than it otherwise would be.

Melosi and Bianchi also tacitly admit that the Fed isn’t going to win this inflation fight and warn we could be heading toward stagflation – IMHO, we already are..

"When fiscal imbalances are large and fiscal credibility wanes, it may become increasingly harder for the monetary authority to stabilize inflation around its desired target. If the monetary authority increases rates in response to high inflation, the economy enters a recession, which increases the debt-to-GDP ratio. If the monetary tightening is not supported by the expectation of appropriate fiscal adjustments, the deterioration of fiscal imbalances leads to even higher inflationary pressure. As a result, a vicious circle of rising nominal interest rates, rising inflation, economic stagnation, and increasing debt would arise.”

The Fed paper authors called it “a pathological situation.”

“Monetary tightening would actually spur higher inflation and would spark a pernicious fiscal stagflation, with the inflation rate drifting away from the monetary authority’s target and with GDP growth slowing down considerably.”

This is exactly what is happening. The latest GDP data shows economic growth slowing and price inflation pressures rising.

The point is there are limits.

We have fully exceeded those limitations in both firepower and volume.

The vast majority of mass-k*****g shooters were on psychotropic drugs... something we're never told.
