Kevyn, Actually lemmings (rodents) are very industrious and work year round ....they live in Arctic areas and build homes, find food, try to fight predators , and in general are not the 'sham losers' that most people ( including myself at one time ) believe them to be. They are great swimmers and can populate so fast that about every 4+/- years they can overpopulate their existing habitat. They will then migrate, sometimes in large numbers, and jump into water to try to swim to a new location.
