I have a good GP, he has taken damn good care of my family for three decades. Any concerns I have about a v*****e or inoculation I will run by him as I do any prescribed medicine and will likely take his advice. Keep in mind v******tions eliminated smallpox with the last case in 1977. Smallpox k**led 300 million people in the 20th century and scared and blinded many more to put this in perspective all of the deaths caused by the Second World War totaled about 80 million. Polio which k**led and put American children in wheel chairs leg braces and iron lungs was eliminated in the US due to v******tions. It was almost eliminated world wide but religious conservatives in Southern Asia spread rumors that the v*****e was a western plot. This led to the attack and murder of several health workers ending the program, and condemning children in the area to a horrible and preventable disease. The world would obviously be better off with polio eliminated.

Similar consrervitive religious crackpots are sadly a threat to the public health of this nation. Misguided fools bought into a long discredited article by a British researcher that falsely linked v******tions to autism. The nutters who believe in little but eternal hell for non believers and every conspiracy theory, took the ball and ran. And now thanks to the internet the anti v******tion propaganda has spread; well v***lly. This new American death cult is ignoring basic public health knowledge that has been proven to work for over a century and now they are starting a deadly campaign against a yet to be developed v******tion.

I know three people it has k**led, two friends and an acquaintance. Two were in their forties and in good health, one put off going to the ER longer than he should have and may have survived if he went sooner. The oldest was in his 70s and had some health issues. He spent nearly a month hospitalized the last week on a vent in the ICU. His wife and kids could not visit him the entire time, or be with him when he died. This thing is getting to more remote parts of the country and many of you won’t have it effect you for a number of weeks. But it is coming, and it is far more dangerous than people believe.

California, the first state to call for a stay-at-home directive, now has 30,754 confirmed cases, with 1,050 deaths. Our population as of 2019 was 30.51 million. That's 34 deaths per million people.

I suppose if Michigan wants to unnecessarily die for their right to a haircut when they want one it is their choice. I'm wondering if they will be forfeiting federal aid as well? They are being foolish, and everyone knows it.
