A conservative says that statements are true but there are reasons for that t***h so it isn't valid. Now there's an opinion piece that many conservatives can get behind because the history of greater economic strength in the US during periods of Democratic leadership just can't be acceptable.

Alabama Republican Party removes four legislative candidates from primary b****t

Tripp Powell, who is seeking the Alabama Senate District 21 seat in the November 2022 general e******n, was removed from the Republican primary b****t over the weekend.

The Alabama Republican Party removed four candidates from its primary b****t over the weekend, alleging they had supported Democrats in violation of party rules.

The party’s bylaws give the GOP's candidates committee broad discretion to disqualify candidates. But some of those removed from the b****t said Monday they thought the party had arbitrarily applied the rules.

Tripp Powell, a Tuscaloosa businessman who was challenging Sen. Gerald Allen, R-Tuscaloosa, in the GOP primary, said Monday the reason given for his removal was a $500 donation he made to Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox when he sought the Democratic nomination for governor in 2018.

FIRE COLLEGE: New program at Alabama Fire College will help firefighters around the world

A 2007 Alabama Republican Party rule allows the removal of Republican candidates who “publicly participated in the primary e******n of another political party or publicly supported a nominee of another political party” if they held public office as a Republican at the time. But Powell said in an interview Monday he wasn't an elected official when he made the donation.

“I did not feel like the rules were applied fairly to my case,” he said.

A spokeswoman for the Alabama Republican Party said John Wahl, the chairman of the state party, was not available for comment Monday afternoon. The bylaws and rules of the Republican Party do not provide an explicit appeal process.

The party also removed former Rep. Elaine Beech of Chatom, who was looking to return to her southwestern Alabama House seat, which she represented as a Democrat from 2010 to 2018. Beech said Monday that the party told her she had not met a six-year waiting period for former officeholders to run as Republicans.

Alabama GOP bylaws allow the party to deny b****t access to anyone who “is not officially recognized as a Republican” and require candidates to follow a procedure for switching parties. But the rules on switching parties only mention elected officials. A 1994 “sore loser” rule imposing a six-year ban on b****t access to those who run in general e******ns after losing a GOP primary only appears to apply to those who run in a Republican contest. (The rule also says it "does not include all of the reasons for denying b****t access.")

“Basically I think they didn’t want me in the party, since I had been a Democrat all my life,” Beech said in a phone interview on Monday.

The party also removed Teresa Rhea, who had been challenging Sen. Andrew Jones, R-Centre, in a Gadsden-area Senate district. Jones challenged Rhea’s candidacy because she had v**ed on a Democratic b****t in the 2017 U.S. Senate e******n; that her husband, a retired judge, had served as a Democrat, and that she had attended Democratic fundraisers.

Rhea, who v**ed in the 2018 and 2020 Republican primaries, told The Gadsden Times that she disagreed with the party’s decision but would “respect” it.

Anson Knowles, a Republican candidate for a House District seat in Madison County, said he was removed from the b****t in part for previous work with the Libertarian Party in Madison County in 2015 and 2016. Knowles, who serves on the county’s Republican Executive Committee, said he planned to work for GOP congressional candidate Paul Sanford, a former state senator.

More: Alabama Legislature will stay in GOP hands, but some shifts could take place

“I want to contribute and do something positive for the party to demonstrate, indeed, that I am a Republican,” he said.

Powell had a little under $178,000 for his state Senate campaign as of Feb. 2, according to his most recent campaign finance report. He said Monday he was “still exploring how the next step goes,” including looking at appeals or the possibility of an independent candidacy.

“What I know is there has been a lot of support from a lot of different people saying I shouldn’t take this,” he said.

What should serve as a warning of dangerousness in the US is that a person who claims to be a veteran of US military service managed to avoid civil rights training while s/he was in the service of our nation.
It has been well documented that the ignorance of the past has led medical personnel who are thoughtless to believe that the myths about the strength of our black brothers and sisters is responsible for less sensitivity to pain.

Investigations are the way law enforcement determines what has happened. Here's hoping it is straightforward and honest.

A man k**led someone who broke into his home. Now he's reportedly being investigated for murder.

A man in St. Louis, Missouri, is being investigated for murder after he k**led an intruder who broke into his home over the weekend.

What happened?
The incident reportedly occurred Sunday evening on the 3900 block of Dunnica Avenue in the city's Dutchtown neighborhood, the St. Louis Dispatch reported.

Police said a 34-year-old woman broke into the 46-year-old man's residence at approximately 6:20 p.m. That's when the man confronted the woman and placed her in a chokehold until she died. By the time officers arrived on the scene, the woman was dead.

The Post-Dispatch reported that police took the man into custody and are seeking warrants for first-degree involuntary manslaughter. The Associated Press and other media outlets, however, have reported that police said they are investigating the incident as a homicide.

Information about the incident remains scarce. Police have not released the names of either of the individuals involved, nor have they provided any more detail about the incident not included in this report.

TheBlaze reached out to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department on Monday seeking more information but was unable to get an immediate response. This article will be updated as more information becomes available.

What else?
Missouri is a "stand your ground" law state, meaning it has legislation on the books that aims to protect residents who injure or k**l someone while defending themselves or a third party.

But according to KTVI-TV, Missouri lawmakers have recently tried to strengthen the state's law. In December 2021, Republican state Sen. Eric Burlison filed legislation that would grant criminal immunity to residents who use deadly force in self-defense unless the force is used against an on-duty law enforcement officer.

Under Missouri's current "stand your ground" law, someone using deadly force in self-defense is required to prove he or she reasonably believed such force was necessary to defend themselves.

However, the current law does carve out a protection for those who use deadly force against someone who unlawfully enters their property or place of occupancy.

According to the statute, a person is allowed to use deadly force in self-defense if "such force is used against a person who unlawfully enters, remains after unlawfully entering, or attempts to unlawfully enter private property that is owned or leased by an individual."

It is good news that once again law enforcement and social service agencies are able to, with the support of US taxpayers, apprehend hundreds of criminals and assist many victims of trafficking. I do wonder why approximately 200 of those arrested were not accounted for.

Nearly 500 People Arrested in California in Human Trafficking Sting Operation

Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva coordinated a state-wide law enforcement effort annual multi-agency statewide initiative that focuses on rescuing victims of sexual s***ery and human trafficking. The annual campaign also works to identify and arrest their captors, and disrupt demand for victims. The operation occurred the week before the Super Bowl, conducted at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.

“All across the state, law enforcement agencies joined us to send a message to pimps, exploiters and buyers that it is unacceptable to buy another human being for sexual purposes,” Villanueva said.

In a Contra Costa County suburb, authorities captured a man allegedly running a nationwide prostitution ring. A search with a warrant discovered two handguns, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, a shotgun, body armor and 100 rounds of ammunition, according to the sheriff.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco described how his department uncovered people involved in the shadowy business. He said task force officers placed decoy advertisements on popular classified advertisement websites commonly used for the solicitation of prostitution. The officers then responded to people who replied to their ads. Once an agreement for prostitution was reached any customers who arrived at the agreed-upon meeting place, were arrested.

Other task force officers responded to escort advertisements that were posted online in the area and negotiated for acts of prostitution. Females who showed up to meet the undercover officers were interviewed. Women whom officers determined were not victims of human trafficking were arrested.

“Task force officers also made contact with two adult females believed to be victims of sex trafficking,” Sheriff Bianco said in a statement. “Initial investigations led the task force to believe these subjects were being forced to engage in acts of prostitution against their will.” He said their identities would not be released but three dozen men and women arrested for solicitation of prostitution were identified by name, age and city of residence.

Two people were arrested by deputies and charged with additional crimes.

Austin Spargo, 25, of Murrieta was also charged with carrying a loaded firearm; and Juan Lopez, 25, of Perris was charged with possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

Advocacy group Saving Innocence CEO Alan Smyth confirmed big sporting events “absolutely garner an increase in trafficking of both adults and minors.”

Reading a headline correctly is inadequate.

KEY POINTS
The White House responded Monday night to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to recognize the independence of two breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine, levying a number of sanctions on the region.

President Joe Biden signed an executive order that prohibits new investment, trade and financing by U.S. persons to, from, or in the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic regions of Ukraine.

European leaders also condemned Putin’s announcement and issued fresh threats to respond to the “blatant violation of international law.”

WASHINGTON – The White House responded Monday night to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to recognize the independence of two breakaway regions of eastern Ukraine, levying a number of sanctions on the region.

President Joe Biden signed an executive order that prohibits new investment, trade and financing by U.S. persons to, from, or in the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic regions of Ukraine.

“To be clear: these measures are separate from and would be in addition to the swift and severe economic measures we have been preparing in coordination with allies and partners should Russia further invade Ukraine,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki wrote in a statement announcing the executive order.

Psaki added that the Departments of State and Treasury will share additional details of the Biden administration’s actions.

Putin’s decision to recognize the breakaway areas in the Donbas came in an hour-long televised address Monday evening.

A senior Biden administration official described Putin’s address as “a speech to the Russian people to justify a war.”

“This wasn’t a speech just about Russia’s security. It was an attack on the very idea of a sovereign and independent Ukraine. He made clear that he views Ukraine historically as part of Russia and he made a number of false claims about Ukraine’s intention that seems designed to excuse possible military action,” said the official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to share details of the Biden administration’s next steps.

The official also said that the U.S. and its allies will continue to monitor Russia’s actions in the region and will respond appropriately should there be further aggression against Ukraine.

“We’re going to take additional sanctions actions tomorrow and if Russia takes further actions, I suspect there will be further responses to those actions. That’s how we have handled this until now and that is how we will continue to handle things going forward,” the official said.

A UN Security Council official confirmed to NBC News that the group will hold an emergency meeting Monday at 9 p.m. ET. Russia currently holds the rotating presidency of the 15-member Security Council and will be running the meeting.

Earlier on Monday, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said he requested the urgent meeting of the U.N. Security Council.

Meanwhile, the State Department relocated diplomatic staff in Lviv, Ukraine to Poland on Monday evening.

“Our personnel will regularly return to continue their diplomatic work in Ukraine and provide emergency consular services,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken wrote in a statement announcing the update.

“The fact that we are taking prudent precautions for the sake of the safety of U.S. government personnel and U.S. citizens, as we do regularly worldwide, in no way undermines our support for, or our commitment to, Ukraine. Our commitment to Ukraine transcends any one location,” Blinken added.

Blinken reiterated U.S. calls for Americans to depart Ukraine immediately, adding that the security situation remains unpredictable and may deteriorate with little notice.
Blinken is slated to meet with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Tuesday at the State Department.

The nation’s top diplomat had previously agreed to a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov this week. A senior Biden administration official declined Monday night to say if the meeting was still scheduled and referred questions on the matter to the State Department.

You said it, wcs.
I like this source of info as well. Despite the propaganda on the right production has increased under Mr. Biden. It is expected to grow more in the next 18 months. The h**ers forget how we got to be independent, it isn't f****l f**l producers who are being damaged it is the people who are travelling, unwilling to hunker for any reason, health or economy.

https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=50978

After declining in 2020, the combined production of U.S. f****l f**ls (including natural gas, crude oil, and coal) increased by 2% in 2021 to 77.14 quadrillion British thermal units. Based on forecasts in our latest Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO), we expect U.S. f****l f**l production to continue rising in both 2022 and 2023, surpassing production in 2019, to reach a new record in 2023.

Of the total U.S. f****l f**l production in 2021, dry natural gas accounted for 46%, the largest share. Crude oil accounted for 30%, coal for 15%, and natural gas plant liquids (NGPLs) for 9%. We expect those shares to remain similar through 2023.

U.S. dry natural gas production increased by 2% in 2021, based on monthly data through October and estimates for November and December. In our forecast, improvements in drilling efficiency and new-well production will contribute to production increases of 3% in 2022 and 2% in 2023.

U.S. crude oil production dropped slightly, by an estimated 1%, in 2021, but we expect it to increase by 6% in 2022 and 5% in 2023. We forecast that, in 2022 and 2023, crude oil prices will remain high enough to encourage growth in the number of active drilling rigs and continued improvement in drilling efficiency.

U.S. coal production increased by an estimated 7% in 2021, driven by increased demand for coal because of rising natural gas prices. Coal's comparatively lower prices made coal more economical for use in electric power generation compared with natural gas. In 2020, U.S. coal production had fallen to its lowest level since 1964. We forecast that coal production will increase 6% in 2022 as coal-fired electricity generators rebuild inventory levels. However, we forecast that coal production will only increase by 1% in 2023 as demand for coal in the electric power sector declines.

U.S. NGPL production increased by 4% in 2021. We expect U.S. NGPL production to increase by 9% in 2022 and then by 4% in 2023. Because NGPLs are a coproduct of natural gas, our forecast for rising NGPL production is linked to our forecast for rising natural gas production.
