Corruption in NY? There sure is.

Here’s one way for campaign contributors to finance a lifestyle: Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again PAC’s eye-popping $37,561 per month rent at Trump Tower in Manhattan covers office space for just three employees, The Washington Post reported Friday.

“This may not be the most efficient use of donors’ money,” quipped the Post, which noted that the 5,490-square-foot space on Trump Tower’s 15th floor could comfortably accommodate 30 workers. The three employees the PAC lists there often work from home, according to the Post. A security guard told a visiting Post reporter on a weekday that no one was in the office.

HuffPost reported the massive rent payments last month, noting that Trump’s campaign committee paid the same amount for the same office all four years he was in the White House, even though the campaign headquarters were in Virginia. The MAGA political action committee is essentially a reformulation of Trump’s campaign committee.

At Trump Tower, meanwhile, other key tenants have either quit the building or fallen far behind on their hefty rents during the C****-** p******c.

The company that once manufactured footwear for former first daughter Ivanka Trump, for example, was $1.4 million in arrears, according to a lawsuit filed by the Trump Organization earlier this year. Marc Fisher Footwear used to occupy the entire 22nd floor and part of the 23rd floor in the formerly trendy Fifth Avenue highrise that used to be Trump’s primary residence and the setting for his “Apprentice” reality series.

A shady “business school” once chaired by Kardashian mom-ager Kris Jenner accumulated nearly $200,000 in rent arrears by last October, according to another Trump Organization suit.

The MAGA PAC took over Trump Tower offices in March that the Trump campaign once occupied. For several months, it also paid $3,000 a month to the Trump Organization to rent a retail kiosk in the building’s lobby — even though the lobby was closed — the Post reported, citing federal campaign filings and sources.

Believe it or not, the self-serving payments don’t appear to be illegal. The PAC has few restrictions with no expiration date, leaving Trump free to spend its money on his own businesses for “as long as he wants,” according to the Post.

That doesn’t mean it’s not wrong, critics noted.

“He’s running a con,” Paul Ryan, a campaign finance expert at the watchdog group Common Cause, told the Post. “Talking about political expenses — but, in reality, raising money for self-enrichment.”

Liz Harrington, a spokesperson for Trump’s political operation, defended the rent.

“We are paying market rate for leased office space used to help President Trump build a financial juggernaut to help elect ‘America First’ conservatives,” she told the Post.

Trump, the first president to hang on to his businesses and brazenly promote them in the White House, has often steered taxpayer, campaign and GOP money into his own pockets.

In just one instance, he arranged a lavish trip to his golf resort in Turnberry, Scotland, for his family and their entourage after meeting with Queen Elizabeth in London in 2018. Former Vice President Mike Pence also went out of his way to stay at Trump’s golf resort in Doonbeg, Ireland, during an official trip to Dublin in 2019.

Various PACS, supporters and the Republican Party have spent millions of dollars at conferences and parties at Trump properties, from Mar-a-Lago to the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. And Trump is currently hitting the Secret Service with stratospheric lodging costs at his own golf resorts.

When Trump mused about running for the White House in an interview with Fortune magazine in 2000, he predicted he would be the “first p**********l candidate to run and make money on it.”

In 1986, Trump prevented the foreclosure of Annabell Hill’s family farm after her husband committed suicide. Trump personally phoned down to the auction to stop the sale of her home and offered the widow money. Trump decided to take action after he saw Hill’s pleas for help in news reports.

In 1988, a commercial airline refused to fly Andrew Ten, a sick Orthodox Jewish child with a rare illness, across the country to get medical care because he had to travel with an elaborate life-support system. His grief stricken parents contacted Trump for help and he didn’t hesitate to send his own plane to take the child from Los Angeles to New York so he could get his treatment.

In 1991, 200 Marines who served in Operation Desert Storm spent time at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina before they were scheduled to return home to their families. However, the Marines were told that a mistake had been made and an aircraft would not be able to take them home on their scheduled departure date. When Trump got wind of this, he sent his plane to make two trips from North Carolina to Miami to safely return the Gulf War Marines to their loved ones.

In 1995, a motorist stopped to help Trump after the limo he was traveling in got a flat tire. Trump asked the Good Samaritan how he could repay him for his help. All the man asked for was a bouquet of flowers for his wife. A few weeks later Trump sent the flowers with a note that read: “We’ve paid off your mortgage.”

In 1996, Trump filed a lawsuit against the city of Palm Beach, Florida accusing the town of discriminating against his Mar-a-Lago resort club because it allowed Jews and b****s. Abraham Foxman, who was the Anti-Defamation League Director at the time, said Trump “put the light on Palm Beach – not on the beauty and the glitter, but on its seamier side of discrimination.” Foxman also noted that Trump’s charge had a trickle-down effect because other clubs followed his lead and began admitting Jews and b****s.

In 2000, Maury Povich featured a little girl named Megan who struggled with Brittle Bone Disease on his show and Trump happened to be watching. Trump said the little girl’s story and positive attitude touched his heart. So he contacted Maury and gifted the little girl and her family with a very generous check.

In 2008, after Jennifer Hudson’s family members were tragically murdered in Chicago, Trump put the Oscar-winning actress and her family up at his Windy City hotel for free. In addition to that, Trump’s security took extra measures to ensure Hudson and her family members were safe until the murderer was arrested.

In 2013, New York bus driver Darnell Barton spotted a woman close to the edge of a bridge staring at traffic below as he drove by. He stopped the bus, got out and put his arm around the woman and saved her life by convincing her to not jump. When Trump heard about this story, he sent the hero bus driver a check simply because he believed his good deed deserved to be rewarded.

In 2014, Trump gave $25,000 to Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi after he spent seven months in a Mexican jail for accidentally crossing the US-Mexico border. President Barack Obama couldn’t even be bothered to make one phone call to assist with the United States Marine’s release; however, Trump opened his pocketbook to help this serviceman get back on his feet.

In 2016, Melissa Consin Young attended a Trump rally and tearfully thanked Trump for changing her life. She said she proudly stood on stage with Trump as Miss Wisconsin USA in 2005. However, years later she found herself struggling with an incurable illness and during her darkest days she explained that she received a handwritten letter from Trump telling her she’s the “bravest woman, I know.” She said the opportunities that she got from Trump and his organizations ultimately provided her Mexican-American son with full college tuition.

Lynne Patton, a black female executive for the Trump Organization, released a statement in 2016 defending her boss against accusations that he’s a r****t and a bigot. She tearfully revealed how she’s struggled with substance abuse and addiction for years. Instead of kicking her to the curb, she said the Trump Organization and his entire family loyally stood by her through “immensely difficult times.”

I am not going to refute those lies in their entirety, I will say that if any of those tall tales are true the Loser did any good deeds with money he had due to fraud. I am not sure a person gets kudos for spending stolen money.

Something else to think about when considering corruption (but not reported in the MSM).

All the way back in May, we outlined how the Clinton Foundation had taken in $100 million from a collection of Gulf sheikhs and billionaires, along with millions from private businesses, who expected — and received — special access to the State Department's top official, Hillary.

In his 2015 book "Clinton Cash," author Peter Schweizer showed how during Hillary's years in government "the Clintons have conducted or facilitated hundreds of large t***sactions (either as private citizens or government officials) with foreign governments, corporations and private financiers." He called the sums going to the Clintons "staggering."

And when the t***h or no, as snopes points out there is no difference for any president but it makes for good gossip, yes??? Sure it does~~Lets try to keep it factual~~~~

Security measures of this level are not specific to the Clintons; the homes of all Presidents are treated this way, as (to a lesser extent) are the homes of former presidents. (In 1981, for example, the Secret Service spent several months providing round-the-clock protection, at a cost of tens of thousands of dollars per day, for an empty Pacific Palisades, California, home owned by Ronald and Nancy Reagan, even though the Reagans no longer lived in or used the house, and even though it was vacant and up for sale.)

The costs of installation and maintenance for security systems at the properties of current and former presidents comes from public funds, because the protection of first families is viewed as a right and proper charge upon the nation. The Secret Service does not divulge the costs of its protective details, but it’s believed to be in the range of tens of millions of dollars a year for each former president.

The Clintons’ home in Chappaqua is served by the White Plains office of the Secret Service, which was already well-staffed before the Clintons’ home purchase (largely because many consulates maintain houses in the area). The arrival of the First Family shifted the office’s workload from 90% investigative and 10% protective to 80% protective and 20% investigative. The office was there before the Clintons bought into the neighborhood, and it will continue to be there even if the Clintons sell the house.

In 1994 Congress changed the rules governing protection of former Presidents, limiting future ex-Chief Executives to only ten years’ worth of protection after they leave office (with the exemption of then-President Bill Clinton). However, that rules change was overturned in 2013 by a measure that restored Secret Service protection to all former U.S. presidents and first ladies throughout their lifetimes, as well as for the children of former presidents until they are 16 years old. (Former presidents and first ladies are free to relinquish this Secret Service protection, as Richard Nixon did in 1985.)

The Clintons have always been subject to rumors of the “Slick Willy” variety; that is, ones which play upon a recurrent theme of their taking advantage of loopholes and benefits they’ve a legal, but not moral, right to. In the world of popular lore, they are often perceived as candy grabbers, greedy little children set loose in an enormous sweets shop funded by the taxpayer. This rumor is another of this kind, an expression of widely-held public opinion. It’s gossip, but it’s what the public is thinking, set down in the form of a story.

There was a kernel of t***h underlying the gossip here, but that kernel has been so distorted that it hardly qualifies as the t***h any more. As Lloyd Grove reported in the Washington Post:

It is a standard arrangement that the Secret Service provide payment to homeowners for space used by the agency in such situations. The Clintons did not take it upon themselves to “charge the Secret Service rent.”
The amount provided is based on a government formula, not set by the homeowner, and in the Clintons’ case this amount was $1,100. (Note that this figure was not chosen by the Clintons, and it was well short of their monthly mortgage payment.)
Most important, although regulations call for the payment of this amount, the Clintons did not in fact accept any money from the Secret Service.
