I have to say, Archie, Trump has said some pretty crazy stuff of late. Even more so than usual. He can’t make up his mind who’s our enemy, the Fed Chairman or President Xi. He offered to buy Greenland, then changed his mind about going to Greenland after the the Danes hurt his feelings by turning him down. Then, he denied their turn down had anything to do with his change in plans. Then, he tweeted their turndown was the reason.
Also, he said he’d been thinking of lowering the tax deduction rate in our paychecks. Then, he said he’d didn’t think we needed to. The , he “orders” US companies to begin cutting ties to with Chinese companies over the tariff war he started. He sited a law from 1977. Constitutionally, it’s questionable he has that kind of power. Expect another court fight.
He claims our farmers aren’t hurting from his tariffs. Then, he has to give them $3-5 BILLION in subsidies (a.k.a. corporate welfare). Now he’s saying the farmers are only “hurting slightly.”
Trump’s approach to anything seems to: make big, lofty promises about what he wants to do. Then, lie his way out of the inevitable initial screw-ups. Then, blame everyone but himself for his lack of forethought and followthrough, leading to his inevitable grand failures.
Just you wait. Should Trump lose in 2020 (Lord, PLEASE! Let it be so!), I’ll bet you that he’ll blame everyone but himself for the loss. It’ll be a “r****d e******n,” or “my campaign committee didn’t do their jobs,” or “there’s a ‘deep state conspiracy’ that took the win away from me,” or “not enough Republicans got out and v**ed for me.” Anyone and anything else will be blamed should he lose the e******n. He takes ZERO responsibility for anything that even remotely makes him look bad.
He can do no wrong! He’s the “Anointed One!” Or, so he claims to be.
