It's because change is scary. Clinging to the familiar, no matter how destructive, gives people a false sense of comfort. We are a nation of cowards. When we hurt, we want pain medicine, right NOW! When we drive somewhere we want people to get out of our way, right NOW!
We have no patience anymore, no tolerance and no desire to experience discomfort of any kind. We would rather pretend that somebody else will fix things, while we maintain our comfort level.
All the squabbling and insults here, are generated by fear. Fear that what someone says may be right and their world view wrong. Anger is merely an expression of fear. Trying to " convince" someone of something is impossible, but giving them the information is always valuable. You never know when something will stick.

I am in a very dark place...... When I looked closely and very honestly at the plight of "my people" against the onslaught of the w****s,,, I saw that it was inevitable,,, that war would come,,, even the indian would accept no less, and the whiteman and more importantly their Government, meant business.

When I listen to people like Gov Cuomo today, I realize the depth of hatred on the left is equivalent in its f*****m to the N**i party,, they just don't have the t-shirts made, and I understand where we are going.

I cannot "share" my country with leftwing f*****ts, nor will I live among them in peace, because their idea of peace is subjugation, and soft tyranny/r****m.

The fight is coming, but the constitution will be restored, it just remains to be seen how rough it has to get before the politicians feel the heat and obey, the people of this country,,, either way, I know which side I will ally with,, and it isn't the libs/democrats....

A reasonable post or thread that sidesteps falling on either side of a controversial issue but instead looks to bring both sides together in a reasonable discourse, will usually be ignored or act as a playground for the disaffected of either side.

Ipnmajor, banjojack, AuntiE, slatten49, oldschool, and a number of others have their replies and threads become sawdust in the wake of buzzsaw extremism.

It seems to be reasonable, fair and balanced, is to be obsolete in these discussions. Show h**e and get numbers. Be popular, lol.

I don't know if they are or not. I am not suggesting anything about giving away America or being conquered. I just asked how you would feel about the idea you brought up. Are you agreeable to the Mexicans taking California back or not? I got the impression that you were putting down America for annexing California and other territories.

Maybe this is why there's so much attention on a third way these days... Libertarians are tired of conservatives and liberals yelling the same words at each other... and blaming each other for the same things.

Anyway, I wanted to comment on the heightened concern about c*******m that I noticed on this thread.

I think some folks here are confusing c*******m with totalitarianism. To it's credit, c*******m is a very democratic system. It just never got off the ground. What happened in every c*******t revolution, was essentially a hijacking. People like Stalin were not truly c*******ts. They were opportunists that took advantage of the chaos created by popular movements like c*******t revolutions and when the smoke settled THEY were the ones in control. They promised the people c*******m but never delivered - instead, the Russians, the Chinese, Cubans... they all got tyranny. They got *some* socialism but probably not as much as we got. Mostly, they got tyranny - posing in a c*******t suit and passing out c*******t membership cards.
