The weekly Wednesday night Bible study at Chicago’s Maypole Avenue Church of Christ was a little more than half-an-hour old when 24-year-old Kenneth Baines entered the church.

Turns out Baines had no interest in the Bible study.

Instead, he saw another man sitting in the church. Baines allegedly pulled out a gun announced to him that he was going to rob the place.

No word on how Baines acquired his weapon, considering how strict Chicago’s gun laws are. LOL !!!!

It was his job to inform the President that he would be recusing himself before he took the job. Jeff Session was at one time an honorable man, I believe he has been c*********d. Mike

Dear President Trump: Please Read This Before Bombing Syria
What is our business in Syria? Part of the reason President Trump was elected was MAGA. How does bombing Syria accomplish that? What does the United States gain by spending possibly billions on arms that won't accomplish s**t? How does acting aggressively against an undeclared "enemy" when we don't know if they are the culprit of a crime and are supposedly fighting against who we say we are fighting against, ISIS, Help America?

This whole thing makes me think that if I read that a guy across town beat his wife (which I deplore) I have the right , because I deplore it, to come over to his house and take a ball bat to him with no consequences to me. Just what are our responsibilities in that area of the World? Why not let the actors there work it out and if we're asked for help, consider whether it's in OUR BEST INTEREST long term. Mike

Proper response in Syria
Why are we responsible for what happens in Syria? If it's the destruction of ISIS, Assad is doing that. I've thought for a long time that our role should be to stand with Israel and let the Muslims fight it out amongst themselves, which they have been doing for centuries. That's one of the reasons they, while out numbering the Israelis, can't beat the Israelis.

If our worry is ISIS. Shut our borders and control who comes in here. Sending missiles and cruise missiles into Syria is a total waste of money and won't accomplish any objective other than to thump our chest, look what we can do. Mike

Well, Virginia You Asked For It
Talk about tax dollars, just got my tax bill. I've always gotten money back despite trying to figure out ways to break even through withholding. Well the wife and I are retired and are on SS and for the first time we'll have to pay $2,646.00 to the federal govt. despite $15,500.00 in medical bills for 2017. That doesn't take into account $1000.00 in charitable contributions which we won't be making in 2018 but putting into an account to pay next years tax bill. Ain't America great under the azzholes in DC, both sides. Mike
