When your kids leave the K-12 system you pay for their college AND the K-12 school tax as well. No vouchers ever, in either case.
When your kids get a job, they have to start paying both the property tax AND the K-12 school tax (owning or renting), along with their Parents.
This "system" ensures, by definition, a waste of human and material resources, reducing the education of our young ones to a mere "self esteem" enhancement, much to the clamor of the parent taxpayer.
They just want to get their money's worth, no wonder! Everybody must get a trophy or else, what??

Where I'm from the property taxes are due twice a year. Once in May then again in November.
