While I disagree with your last sentence, your first assertion is correct. A lawsuit alleging inappropriate behavior on the part of the police department is the appropriate method to address the matter.

As every police officer knows citing the wrong law as being violated is grounds for dismissal of the charge. This police officer cited the wrong law.

Someone has perverted the golden rule. I always ask why time must be allowed for Muslim students to pray, but prayer in school is illegal. I guess it means "Christian" prayer is illegal. One would almost begin to think that Lucifer is trying to destroy Christianity in America. I wonder what reason he could have for doing that? Maybe a better question would be, why are Christians letting him get away with it?

Prayer in school is not illegal. Administration lead prayer is illegal. If Muslim students choose to pray 5 times a day, there is nothing inherently illegal. If a Christian student chooses to pray at anytime during the day there is nothing illicit in that, either. If a teacher, assistant or other administrator prays with students, that is illegal.

If you think I have misread, cite the paragraph in which Sharia Law was given as the reason the judge ruled the way he did.
The Pennsylvania Halloween beating: Some asshole went to a Muslim neighborhood dressed as an undead Mohammed. Amazingly the people there were offended. When asked to leave, he didn't leave and instead provoked a fight by throwing a punch. Why not inform yourself of the details. Before making an ass of yourself.

The judge said he deserved what happened to him. And my opinion is that is a correct assessment

You find the beating of someone and being found in a US court law to be justified according to Shiria Law as offensive or that someone tried to correlate 2 acts of muslim insensitivities in one article to illicit a particular response from its readers.

Personally I'm offended that your offended lol

The beating wasn't justified by Sharia Law. The judge just said the man deserved it.

The police department was not Muslim. Thus, its orders were not "Muslim insensitivities."

Reading comprehension. What did they teach you in school?

I find it patently offensive to link two unrelated events in one article.

The beating of a costumed individual without context, is hardly an appropriate conclusion to this article. Changing the intent from informing to convincing. I have the ability to think for myself. Thank you, very much.

What religious tenet of Christianity prohibits going to a mosque?

Religious doctrines are not the reason for refusing to go to a mosque.
Should a PD promise to send officers to a religious institution to "learn about religious doctrines?" Probably not.

Do two wrongs make a right? No.

The officer's refusal to obey a direct order is insubordination, not some sort of religious expression.

Unless there is a religious doctrine in the cult the officer attends prohibiting entering other faiths' houses of worship, he is totally in the wrong.

I'm curious about something. Since President Obama has deported more i******s than all the other Presidents combined, how is it that i******s can be counted - and not get deported?

How do they know the numbers of i******s getting legal work? Why were they not reported, then deported? How does the Congress/WH know how many i******s there are in this country and NOT know where they are - and deport them?

It's easy to spout numbers that help one make a point, but not so easy to answer the questions that result. I am just surprised that more people aren't asking these questions - and demanding answers.

Here is one method for such a determination:

Total known legal working age persons = A

Total known legal working age persons filing for unemployment = B

Total known jobs = C

Total i******s working in known jobs = D

C - (A - B) = D

Using this method, how would you find the location of the i******s?

A survey was taken last week and asked "what are the 10 amendments of the constitution called" only 3 out of 10 knew the answer was the Bill of Rights. A lot more questions were asked with the same sad results..

There are twenty seven amendments to our Constitution.

"What are the ten amendments to our Constitution called?"

Quite the confusing question unless the qualifier "first" is inserted before "ten."

I've always wondered how they pull an ice core without completely destroying it by the change in pressure? As we all know a hundred feet of ice produces incredible amounts of pressure funny things happen to H2O at those pressures. One of those funny things is due to the pressure the H2O isn't frozen through out the entire sample.

It is very difficult to accept ice cores as anything, but absolutely fascinating. We can't know the past by them, but we are learning a great deal from them.

It is pretty hard to find an accurate natural account of past weather and temperature. But it is simple to manipulate the data from ice cores, tree cores, sediment layers, etc. to prove what you believe. Just like reading the future in bones, intestines, tea leaves, and other portentous omens.

I am not trying to convert anyone--if ones word isn't good enough then swearing to a false god isn't going to validate it. An atheist doesn't believe in god therefore to swear to one would be a false validation--and that isn't what we want in a oath where one is going to defend the United States is it!

But this particular article was about a man who converted to Atheism. In 2003 he was a Christian, in 2007 he was an Atheist.

So it occurred to me the statement "false god" was an attempt to proselytize. And I was curious why you are proselytizing.

I am sure if you asked some of these bible thumpers why the religious people were punished too, they would tell you God works in strange ways.

Logic is a stranger to the h**ers.

Liberian Archbishop Signs Statement Linking Ebola and Homosexuality

Archbishop Lewis Zeiglier

Liberia’s top Catholic official join more than 100 religious leaders in linking that nation’s Ebola outbreak to homosexuality, lending his support to a prejudiced and potentially dangerous statement according to The Daily Observer.

Archbishop Lewis Zeiglier of Monrovia joined a Liberia Council of Churches meeting this week, which discussed a “spiritual response” to the epidemic that has claimed more than 1,000 lives in West Africa and caused a state of emergency in several nations. The meeting, a potential response to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s comments that ignorance and religious practices were contributing to Ebola’s spread, released a unanimous resolution which said in part:

“God is angry with Liberia, and that Ebola is a plague. Liberians have to pray and seek God’s forgiveness over the corruption and immoral acts (such as homosexualism, etc.) that continue to penetrate our society. As Christians, we must repent and seek God’s forgiveness.”

The resolution also suggested the government restrict movement for three days of fasting and prayer, something which Liberia’s Catholics had already done this week.

Being gay is illegal in Liberia and same-g****r marriages are banned, which has been insufficient for some politicians and clergy. Legislation was introduced in 2012 that would have sentenced anyone convicted of being in such a marriage to death. A Catholic priest used his Easter homily to attack President Sirleaf’s silence on the question of marriage e******y.

AmericaBlog points out that Archbishop Zeiglier himself harshly condemned lesbian and gay people in April, warning that God would punish Liberia if it allowed same-sex marriage:

“The Archbishop said Liberians are ‘whole-heartedly’ engaging themselves in this act and that is being promoted in the country.

“The Catholic Archbishop also stated: ‘Where are we going as Liberians if we are advocating for homosexuality? Are we not calling for curses upon ourselves? How will a man marry his fellow man, this is an a*********n. These are the same things that brought down Sodom and Gomorrah.’ “

Negative comments against L**T people are often made by members of the Catholic hierarchy, but Archbishop Zeiglier’s support for a resolution linking the deadly Ebola outbreak and homosexuality is particularly dangerous. In an anti-gay climate like Liberia’s, an archbishop’s words can easily be used to justify discrimination and violence against L**T people. This is doubly true when an epidemic like Ebola has created a climate of intensified fear and people are seeking an easy scapegoat.

When several African bishops made anti-gay comments in May, essentially endorsing the discrimination of L**T people, Bondings 2.0 asked how the Church can respond. At that time, we quoted CNN columnist LZ Granderson who called on Catholics to end their silence on anti-gay laws, writing:

“To move Pope Francis’ question from a global headline to global change, Christians must stop allowing silence to be the de facto weapon of choice against the senseless persecution of gay people.”

Looking for a first step to make your voice heard and counter voices like Archbishop Zeigliers? Participate (again if you have already) in the #PopeSpeakOut campaign, asking Pope Francis to condemn in no uncertain terms laws and language which encourages prejudice and violence against L**T people. The reason you fear Ebola. Is because you don't understand it. Biology.

Ebola is as contagious as HIV. Its incubation is less time measured in weeks. Its mortality rate is higher so less carriers survive. The vast majority of Ebola victims are poor. What will they do walk to America?

Your ignorance of biology is why you fear Ebola in America. Why not cut the fear mongering, and inform yourself?

Rather than ignoring the facts, fearing the horrible Ebola v***s?

Good personal hygiene and refraining from sexual promiscuity will prevent your grandchildren from contracting Ebola.
