Just another fictionalized scandal, created by "Cons" to discredit the President. "Cons" were so upset at not fulfilling their pledge, to make Obama a "One term President", that they resorted to creating phony scandals to discredit him.

I do not think you really under stand what makes up a staff of an officer and what that staff can and can not do. Staffs are not in the chain of command, so do not command troops. There job is to give advice to the officer who is in command of said unit. Unlike as you seem to believe the Germany General has not been appointed to command our Army in Europe, he has been appointed to be Chief of Staff for the officer who is in command of our Army in Europe. What the job of a Chief of Staff is to run the head quarters for what ever unit as well as to give advice to the commander, but he does not command troops at all. If I was the commander of the Army in Europe, I would love to have people on my staff who could give me advice on what the Russians might do and who would know more about this than the Germans who haven been planning what to do for years as well as maybe so from some of the Eastern European countries.
