C*****e c****e is just a myth, except in Lake Erie

Parts of Toledo and sw Michigan are experiencing problems with the water supply. The problem has been growing for the past 10 years, but the c*****e c****e deniers (Limbaugh) and those who h**e government agencies like EPA and ODNR must not live anwhere near NW Ohio.

Wonder what the "experts", "geniuses" and self-proclaimed "know-it-alls" will say when this problem spreads to their water supply?

Don't suppose the lake freezing over completely had anything to do with this? Lake was nothing but an ice cube, first time in 14 years so I'm sure that is g****l w*****g!

Really, ice forms in heat?

There is some research on biofuel from algae... maybe this will end up good.

Algae Blooms happen quite regularly in large bodies of water. However, this one was larger than normal and casused a problem for a short period of time. Unfortunate, but managable. They had to have known it was going to happen, fairly visible and predictable. They should have been prepared. Another "Crisis" that could have been averted with some prior planning and implementation.

I weep for the condition of our countries great water resources, but in erie's case it is changes in agricultural practices that is causing the stimulated algae growth. I'm modestly familiar with the problem here in MN. It is illegal to use any phosph**es within the 7 county metro area, and very strict regulations on surface fertilizing on AG lands. There are several ways of injecting fertilizer into the soil that greatly reduces runoff, and limits soil degradation.

Grow up and stop drinking their kool aid.

If I were you I would worry more about erie's walleye population after the asian carp eat everything in sight.

Just saying

From what I understand Erie was a toxic waste sight but through tremendous effort has been an incredible environmental cleanup success. At least when it comes to being a walleye fishery.

There are dozens of contributing factors, but we must differentiate between human pollution and c*****e c****e. These are 2 fundamentally different concepts and it is irresponsible and dangerous to try and blame every environmental problem on c*****e c****e instead addressing a real underlying cause.

It was awhile ago but some school entered into a cross country run with an algae car, came in 3rd or 4th, great mileage but not very particle. My interest is there but big money doesn't seem to be.

Weather you believe there is c*****e c****e or not The problem in Lake Erie is man caused. Man caused the situation man can fix it.The problem is pollution causers and those who benefit from the pollution causers resist all efforts to stop pollution and deny any fault in the problem they cause. The reason---Money.

Lake Erie was declared DEAD in the 60's.

Remember we share that lake with Canada.

Why do you suppose it's only been the last 10 years? Did you ever hear of over farming land? Did you ever hear of $7.00/bushel corn because of ethanol? Did you ever hear of farmers trying to plant every inch of land - road to-road? One side note: how much did you pay for the last steaks you bought in a grocery store? Because of very poor farming practices, farming has polluted most of the standing water (ponds, lakes) and most of the rivers in America.
In 1959 the "plume" of dirty water (fertilizer) in the Gulf of Mexico from the Mississippi River run off was only 3 or 4 miles big. The last time I checked this "plume" extended into the Gulf about 60 miles. How do I know? I saw it with my own 2 eyes from the cockpit of a jet.
I don't know where you live but in my state (Midwest) the temperature has been ~ 12 Fahrenheit degrees below "normal" (?) all summer long. (What's normal?)
I think you better call al gore and ask him to send some g****l w*****g to the northern hemisphere, but then he can't, because someone a little more intelligent and powerful than any human controls everything.
