Well, for the last 4 years Obama and his supporters have been saying his plans and policies are thwarted by those dastardly Republicans. Can we now conclude those nasty Republicans were right and the lack of Obama policy is now proven to be successful? Perhaps you have a different interpretation of what all this means to share with us.

Perhaps you should consider how low the unemployment would be if the right had not worked so hard to ensure people would have no place to go for a job. I am not particularly impressed with what the so called left did to improve the economy, but it did work to a degree in spite of the republicans.
Now I will work as hard as I can to help create a situation in this country that mirrors what just happened in Greece.
I am convinced the people are waking up to the treachery of the right and will understand the need to elect people like Liz Warren and Bernie Sanders.

The most since Pres. Bill Clinton was in office...that statistic skipped right over two Republican presidencies.

The jobs outlook improved significantly over the course of 2014, with the economy adding 2.95 million jobs. That total was the most of any year since 1999.

The monthly pace of job creation also accelerated during the year to 246,000 jobs on average, well above the 194,000 mark for 2013.

Excellent posts.

I would like to preclude the inevitable BS from the right about how the unemployment figures are r****d to make the stats look better. Of course they are that was a trick dreamed up by the ronnie ray gun group to try to sell the shinning light bull s**t while they started the dismantlement of the social safty net. I hoped back then that a democratic president would change it back to the way it was before ronnie.
I keep thinking we may actually some day elect a democrat and that might get corrected along with the revival of the anti trust laws and so many other important things.

I know it is out of the question to expect that one day you folks might learn something but hope springs eternal.
None of you noticed that the first lady spent time in Arabia and did not cover her hair or face, no muslim would do that. Most women who visit muslim countries at least ware a scarf, what she did was a direct rebuke of the muslim tenants and a very strong statment and a disavowal of the religion.
It didn't come as a shock to the president, he knew what she was planing and went along with it.
They are unfortunately both christens. A condition that I see as no different. I believe that if we could somehow dispense with all religion the world would be a much better place.

What you are saying makes me think of the current trend in kids sports. Everyone gets their little generic trophy. All winners, no losers. Winning no longer means more than losing. Is that what you think the little bit of dignity is that everybody needs?
Well, no thanks butthead. I worked a good portion of my life on commission and if I decided I needed a raise, the board just met. I'll just depend on myself and my abilities, thank you very much. You can keep your damned one size fits all prosperity

[quote=CounterRevolutionary]Greed is not the motivating factor behind American entrepreneurs. It is passion. It is curiosity. It is love. It is a special character of risk takers who harness their passions productively instead of being cat-burglars or pickpockets. Why don't the Democrats understand this?[/quot

Are you saying we have two types of people,Entrepreneurs and pick pockets?
I don't begrudge anyone the opportunity to start a business and make a lot of money if they are lucky. I want that to happen and I have some experience in that area but having succeeded in business I think people should try to help others live better and help people of a like mind who have not yet started their business to succeed rather than going to extremes to prevent others from living in a decent fashion.
It is not a zero sum game, everyone can succeed to a degree and a gain for one does not t***slate into a loss for another.
We do not have to be at war with each other and we could do a lot of good for all if we tried to work together for the betterment of everyone.

So what are you trying to achieve? Making everybody equally poor, or unequally rich?

If it could be worked out I would opt for equally rich. Of course that is absurd but people should have a chance for a bit of dignity in their life and the opportunities for that are going away for everyone other than the 1% at a rate exactly proportional to the national divergence in income.

I aware of Helmsley's attempt to evade taxes - and if you think she was the only, or even the biggest, you are a complete fool. The largest tax c***t in American history was a guy named Marc Rich - and he is far more famous for having been pardoned without ever paying a dime in back taxes, a dime in fines, penalties or interest, and never spent a second in jail. His pardon was brokered by a guy named Eric Holder and his pardon was signed by a guy named Bill Clinton. As you've obviously heard about Leona, there's a bit of a chance you've heard about this 3.

As to equitable tax cuts, you're great knowledge of history and investing suggest you probably don't realize that if a tax is cut 10%, he who pays 100,000 in taxes will have a bigger cut than the who pays 100.

...and what era are you referring to as being so wonderful?

I don't give a damn about helmslys tax c***ting, she was rich so of course she was a tax c***t. I was referring to that one statement she made. I thought at the time it was good that she felt that way because that seems to me to be the way it should be.

Calling a person an i***t while posting i***tic comments is striking as hell. First, there is no evidence whatsoever that any such collaboration ever took place - except for in your scattered brain.

Let me give you a basic lesson in investing. If you buy a stock at 1 dollar and it rises to 10, you've made exactly nothing. If it then declines to 50 cents, you still have lost nothing. Until the stock is sold, you can neither have a capital gain or loss. The fact that you don't know that suggests either you had no money in the market - or that you did and you proved the old adage correct - a fool and his money are soon parted.

YOU, my Dear, are severely Misinformed! Remember what Pres. Reagan said-----"It's not that democrats don't know anything...it's that so much of what they know isn't true." Check back to the Iraq invasion. If Pres. Bush was fooled by lies, so was Powell, congress and the UN. YOU shouldn't be fooled by lies!

I don't think most of us were fooled, we pretty much knew they were lies. We are guilty of not working hard enough to stop it.

I have no idea what history you think you know - further, I'm shocked that anyone would assign Leona Helmsley such a prominent place in economic history - and Reagan reduced taxes for everyone - not just the 1%.

With the prominence you've given Helmsley, I'm sure you are a unique historian.

By the way, is there a reason why you ignored the current French lesson?

Helmsley was all over the news with that crap. How's that for a why? The economy was really quit nice in that era,I know I enjoyed it. If you think ronnies tax cuts were equitable I suggest you take another look and while your are at it take a look at the nature of his subsequent tax increases.
