Some time ago, I came across a 19th century 8th grade final exam for graduation to HS.
As I recall it was a school in Texas.
I have no doubt that a college grad today would have serious difficulty passing that one.

I've seen the 19th century 8th grade exams. You would be hard pressed today to find a College graduate
that could pass any of those. Damn shame, because that is really the root of today's problems.
There are still countries where the opposite is true. Here in Ukraine for example, the school kids are wizards
in math, science, ect. But then they go to school dressed properly, have rigid standards to maintain ,
and they do not have the so called "right" to decide that they will do otherwise.
The U.S. education system is in fact the biggest reason that the country is going downhill at such
an astonishing rate.
