My estimation it is real good news. Perhaps it is not too late to put the gene back into the bottle. According to what I heard on the news today, no not Fox, the case seems to be a 4th Amendment breach of rights.

Based on a 1979 ruling which gave the right to tap telephones as they then existed. The opinion is based on the idea that phone usage has changed and is now so much a part of life and commerce that the past ruling should not apply..

I think it is amusing and ironic that while Bush jr. started the NSA phone surveillance, he also appointed Judge Leon to the bench...

Sure. I'll take a crack at playing devil's advocate. But before I do, full disclosure. I don't believe in gun control. Never have. Never will.

Placing armed guards in schools won't help. Columbine proved that assertion to be false. It also gives a false sense of security. Anyone who wants to shoot people will find a way to do it. If the guards are parked at the front door, the shooter simply opens fire in the parking lot...or football field...or at the bus. And when the kids set foot off school property, all bets are off. They're sitting ducks at the mall...movie theater...convenience store...wherever.

The other flaw in this argument is the assumption these armed guards will operate at peak efficiency at all times. Face it. They won't. What you will create is a standing federal army of low paid rent-a-cops with little to no training wandering halls full of cranky teenagers. One example: Someone sets off a cherry bomb in the men's room toilet. Sounds just like a gun shot. What do these guards do? Open fire?

My point is that school shootings will continue to happen whether you pass new gun restriction laws or place armed guards in schools. It doesn't matter. It's our society and culture. It's 300 million weapons already in circulation. It's crazy people getting guns and opening fire. It's our reality.

This information came from the Washington Times:

"President Obama, in his first four years has taken 131 days, dividing his time between Hawaii, Martha’s Vineyard and, of course, Camp David, the official get away of U.S. presidents. At this rate, he could hit 262 days by the end of his eighth year."

Yes, but most on the forum will not beleive it and pound on you for you post. You are correct, both in the number of vacation days and h**e for the black, democratic president...
As far as his vacations in Hawaii are concerned, if we elected someone from that state for the presidency, would traveling to his/her estate on Air Force 1 be any less of an expense to the American People.

The President only flies on Air Force 1 for security reasons so taking a commercial flight and paying for it out of pocket is an unreasonable expectation, in my honest opinion. Let's face it, you people are going to h**e Barack Obama because he is a Democrat in the White House. The fact that he is black only adds the icing to the cake.

The insurance companies need to be removed from the equation. President Obama was wrong to have included them in his misguided attempt at national health care. I v**ed for him and agree with him on many things but not this one. I have been suspicious that his attempts to reform our for-profit health system were bogus. If he was sincere you would have heard very loud and very public protestations by the insurance companies, hospitals, and the AMA. Like in a Sherlock Holmes story, they were the dogs that didn't bark. Probably because they were thrown a big juicy steak! In spite of what many of you folks think, Mr. Obama is not very left of center. Like all the other presidents before him, he told fibs. That's what all politicians do. This is not news to most of us.

Many of us would gladly support someone further left in the next e******n. Governor Dean and Senator Warren come to mind. I'm a realist though, I know the $$$$ interests would never let that happen.

Pretty much agree with you. But if we could remove the insurance companies, we would have a single payer system..That idea sends many people up a wall....Yes money will have its say...

No color problem, but the gun industry having their way..Do you think all the yelling over gun rights is only a political position? The guy who owns a guns store in our tiny town loves the commotion, he has never made so much money, sold more firearms then ever, and his suppliers are hopping up and down over the backlog of orders..What I am saying is mach is about money..that is always the reason.... You need to be one of the few people left in the world who still believes that Obama didn't lie regarding cancellations - one of the few left who doesn't realize that this law caused the cancellation of virtually every policy that existed, and that that was one of the key requirements for the law to accomplish what it intended.

Dave, the insurance companies are the one that changed/canceled the policies. They saw a chance to further gouge the customers and jumped on it..Was nothing they had to do...

Then what are these?

SEC. 1302. ESSENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS REQUIREMENTS.
(a) ESSENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS PACKAGE.—In this title, the term ‘‘essential health benefits package’’ means, with respect to any health plan, coverage that—
(1) provides for the essential health benefits defined by the Secretary under subsection (b);
(2) limits cost-sharing for such coverage in accordance with
subsection (c); and
(3) subject to subsection (e), provides either the bronze, silver, gold, or platinum level of coverage described in subsection (d).
(b) ESSENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS.—
(1) IN GENERAL.—Subject to paragraph (2), the Secretary shall define the essential health benefits, except that such benefits shall include at least the following general categories and the items and services covered within the categories:
(A) Ambulatory patient services.
(B) Emergency services.
(C) Hospitalization.
(D) Maternity and newborn care.
(E) Mental health and substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment.
(F) Prescription drugs.
(G) Rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices.
(H) Laboratory services.
(I) Preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management.
(J) Pediatric services, including oral and vision care.

And for those who like to say that Obama has violated carrying out the PPACA law, note subpara (a)(1), which says "...defined by the Secretary ...." Similar wording is found throughout the PPACA that gives the Secretary of Health and Human Services (Kathleen Sebelius) - and therefore her boss, President Obama - authority to make certain changes to provisions of the PPACA.

One can either believe all the biased crap out there, or one can take a few minutes to look up the information. This took me all of about 3 minutes to find.

Good post Mr. school..Yes seen this before, this years ice sheet is 50% larger then last years lowest ever recorded, So this years ice cover is only the 6th lowest ever recorded...This may give us a better ice cover next year, if the wind patterns remain the same..More Good news..Some down the page is not a fan of Al Gore, but what gore said, as quoted in the article is “Some of the models suggest that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap, during some of the summer months, could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years,” Gore said in 2008.

Easy to think so...I think about that and in my opinion is so involved no one could manage to pull it all off. Far more items then could be covered without a staff of thousands...I am much more likely to go with the banking conspiracy...

This is from a different sourc, but the same information.

Claims #1, 2 and 4, college records. Obama’s college records are not “sealed” by a court order, as this graphic would have you believe. It would be illegal under federal law (the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974) for Occidental, Columbia or Harvard Law School to give any former student’s records to reporters or members of the public without that person’s specific, written permission. Obama hasn’t released them, but neither have other p**********l candidates released their college records. George W. Bush’s grades at Yale eventually became public, but only because somebody leaked them to the New Yorker magazine. Bush himself refused to release them, according to a 1999 profile in the Washington Post.

Fact check-----Obamas sealed records......Much more in the page if you wish to look it over..
