Sure. I'll take a crack at playing devil's advocate. But before I do, full disclosure. I don't believe in gun control. Never have. Never will.

Placing armed guards in schools won't help. Columbine proved that assertion to be false. It also gives a false sense of security. Anyone who wants to shoot people will find a way to do it. If the guards are parked at the front door, the shooter simply opens fire in the parking lot...or football field...or at the bus. And when the kids set foot off school property, all bets are off. They're sitting ducks at the mall...movie theater...convenience store...wherever.

The other flaw in this argument is the assumption these armed guards will operate at peak efficiency at all times. Face it. They won't. What you will create is a standing federal army of low paid rent-a-cops with little to no training wandering halls full of cranky teenagers. One example: Someone sets off a cherry bomb in the men's room toilet. Sounds just like a gun shot. What do these guards do? Open fire?

My point is that school shootings will continue to happen whether you pass new gun restriction laws or place armed guards in schools. It doesn't matter. It's our society and culture. It's 300 million weapons already in circulation. It's crazy people getting guns and opening fire. It's our reality.

Yes, but most on the forum will not beleive it and pound on you for you post. You are correct, both in the number of vacation days and h**e for the black, democratic president...
As far as his vacations in Hawaii are concerned, if we elected someone from that state for the presidency, would traveling to his/her estate on Air Force 1 be any less of an expense to the American People.

The President only flies on Air Force 1 for security reasons so taking a commercial flight and paying for it out of pocket is an unreasonable expectation, in my honest opinion. Let's face it, you people are going to h**e Barack Obama because he is a Democrat in the White House. The fact that he is black only adds the icing to the cake.

The insurance companies need to be removed from the equation. President Obama was wrong to have included them in his misguided attempt at national health care. I v**ed for him and agree with him on many things but not this one. I have been suspicious that his attempts to reform our for-profit health system were bogus. If he was sincere you would have heard very loud and very public protestations by the insurance companies, hospitals, and the AMA. Like in a Sherlock Holmes story, they were the dogs that didn't bark. Probably because they were thrown a big juicy steak! In spite of what many of you folks think, Mr. Obama is not very left of center. Like all the other presidents before him, he told fibs. That's what all politicians do. This is not news to most of us.

Many of us would gladly support someone further left in the next e******n. Governor Dean and Senator Warren come to mind. I'm a realist though, I know the $$$$ interests would never let that happen.

SEC. 1302. ESSENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS REQUIREMENTS.
(a) ESSENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS PACKAGE.—In this title, the term ‘‘essential health benefits package’’ means, with respect to any health plan, coverage that—
(1) provides for the essential health benefits defined by the Secretary under subsection (b);
(2) limits cost-sharing for such coverage in accordance with
subsection (c); and
(3) subject to subsection (e), provides either the bronze, silver, gold, or platinum level of coverage described in subsection (d).
(b) ESSENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS.—
(1) IN GENERAL.—Subject to paragraph (2), the Secretary shall define the essential health benefits, except that such benefits shall include at least the following general categories and the items and services covered within the categories:
(A) Ambulatory patient services.
(B) Emergency services.
(C) Hospitalization.
(D) Maternity and newborn care.
(E) Mental health and substance use disorder services, including behavioral health treatment.
(F) Prescription drugs.
(G) Rehabilitative and habilitative services and devices.
(H) Laboratory services.
(I) Preventive and wellness services and chronic disease management.
(J) Pediatric services, including oral and vision care.

And for those who like to say that Obama has violated carrying out the PPACA law, note subpara (a)(1), which says "...defined by the Secretary ...." Similar wording is found throughout the PPACA that gives the Secretary of Health and Human Services (Kathleen Sebelius) - and therefore her boss, President Obama - authority to make certain changes to provisions of the PPACA.

One can either believe all the biased crap out there, or one can take a few minutes to look up the information. This took me all of about 3 minutes to find.

How??? If he is what 53 now??? That is about thirty years after school,,,, 25 at most unless he was a slow student,,, we will give him 23 tops,,, and yet he is a multi millionaire,,, the numbers you give don't add up,,, or something untoward is afoot,,,, I guess, if his records weren't sealed we might actually know who is leading this country, but apparently that is NOT our "right" on the right,,, only the "right" of the left.... that is unfair, and when you do that sort of chicanery,, (If you don't believe in God) then KARMA seems to send it back to you,, and it appears to be turning,,, so if you are now "winning" or benefitting and enjoying the fruits of this "ruse" I sure hope you are big enough to suck up the converse of the "cosmic payback" when the pendulum swings, cause it always swings,,,,
