For Brian Devon to be castigating anyone for a post, that he(Brian ) deems ignorant shows him for what he is. Isn't this forum supposed to be about sharing ideas, rather than throwing insults around. If one doesn't tend to agree with a post there are civilized ways to express those disagreements.
Brian may think he's showing his intellect by throwing around well articulated and grammatically correct sentences of insults. I would suggest he put his talents to better use.

I for one take exception to your comment that Mike Tyson is a rapist. Just because a jury convicted him doesn't make it so. Tyson had the misfortune of having that accusation cast on him shortly after a jury had let a real rapist, with the Kennedy name behind him, off scott free.
If one recalls, Ted Kennedy himself went (if I remember correctly the trial was held in Florida) to testify on behalf of his nephew. At the time, and the timing, of the Tyson trial my gut feeling was that Mike would pay the price for the mistake society made in letting Kennedy Smith off the hook.
If I could have found any takers, I would have bet the farm that Tyson would be found guilty. And, as far as I was concerned, there wasn't a safer bet: turns out it was!

I need an editor. let me start over. "We've never met, all I know about you I've gleaned from this forum." That, and perceptive intuition.
Your reasoning, (Gluecon) if I recollect correctly, is because I referred to you as "Ole Glaucon" I must know you from somewhere, or be friends, something anyway, otherwise how would I know to call you (Ole.)
The answer is simple, you indicated your age in one of your posts to this forum, unless, of course, I confused someone elses post with yours. Your age is sixty-two. If that isn't correct please accept my humble apology for taking liberties with your age.

Beings everyone is offering their interpretation of what the message is, or isn't, allow me to ask--does anyone really know what their talking about?
And, I think not, the foundation of religion is nothing more than the creative imagination of we humans. One of you has mentioned something regarding two thousand years ago, which I'm assuming is in reference to Christ. Recently, I reread about the discovery of the young pharaoh, King Tut: could have been another pharaoh. Anyway, the timeline of that article was three thousand years ago. Does that mean that all those souls before Christ were lost?
All these deep thought out theories about god are meaningless, only god knows what god is about. How do I know this? Well, actually I don't, and neither does anyone else know anything for sure. However, that doesn't preclude me from believing in a wondrous god, creator of all things.
If one is truly in the spirit of god, its probably by god's choice and has nothing to do with how morally righteous one is, or has been. It's all about faith, and the ability to look about and see the wonders. And be thankful!
Yes, I know, it doesn't have to be pointed out that, I have just did what I have railed against: one's own spin.

Allow me to butt in here for a moment. I was raised in the church, I attended every church function that was available, until I became old enough to rebel against my mother's wishes that I attend them.
I am the product of my mothers desire to indoctrinate my sister and me with all things revolving around fantasy, Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, you name it. And, I bought into it hook line and sinker. I considered my mother to be so virtuous, and honest, to ever doubt that these creatures of fantasy existed.
Now, You're probably thinking that this is evolving towards religion as fantasy. Well, yes, and no, That there is a god (the term god will suffice for this discussion) is not fantasy. The trappings that all mankind has attached is fantasy.
Is there life after death? I hope so! I've had personal experiences that I associate with god, or at least the spiritual world. Can I explain them? Absolutely not, and this is where faith enters, I believe and that's all that matters.
There are those that say there is no place for reason in religion it's all, or nothing, faith based. I disagree, for it is reason that I base my belief and faith on.
It baffles me that anyone can profess to be an atheist, when all one has to do is look around. I realize that a lot can happen in millions of years, but does evolution really explain the tremendous diversity that exists on this planet earth. And, there are probably things yet to be discovered, not of this universe, that will leave us in awe of the new-found wonders.
I find it amazing that there are those who would disavow a belief in god, and yet have no doubt whatsoever that all these galactic discoveries that, no one has actually seen, not even the scientists that profess there exists. It's based totally on theory and mathematical calculations.
However, each to his own reason, and each to his own faith. In conclusion, we humans are just part of the overall scheme of things, no more important in god's eyes than anything else that has been created, its just mankinds grandiose idea about himself that causes this delusion.
And, like the unseen planets, we should have faith that god is there. What the plan is, we'll just have to wait and see!

Yes, that's true, but those elected are mere puppets, and the puppet masters aren't you and me. Look how many rings one has to kiss before even being allowed on a b****t.
By the time anyone is elected, to public office, they owe so many favors, or are told from the get-go that, either play ball or find a new line of work.

Well, I came up blank, but of course, I figured I would. I should probably write this stuff down when I see something of interest. But, you can rest assured, I am not telling you an unt***h.
Whether the study had all the facts, I have no idea! However, if there is something that doesn't square, I would rather think it an honest mistake in their research than a deliberate attempt to mislead. And besides, you surely don't think your v**e trumps what, The Oracle of Omaha,or Bill Gates might prefer do you?

I realize you don't like to have your insignificance pointed out, but it is what it is, and if you like I'll attempt to discover the organisation that promoted the study. I just saw it a few days ago.

I h**e to inform you 79, but it was reported that you, and the rest of us, have little to say about what takes place. It was reported by some group ( and don't ask me which) that did an in depth study, and the conclusion is that it's a small group of influential, and wealthy, that call the shots and "we the people" most often come in second when there is conflicting interests. But then, some of us had that fact figured out long ago!
What has to be noted is that anytime you think your side is in the drivers seat, and things are going the way you perceive to be the correct way---it's merely a coincidence!

First thing to consider about ole Glaucon is that he loves to hear himself ramble on, or, in the case of OPP. see his handy work in print. If OPP. didn't offer a format for what he considers his above average brilliance, then he would find some other format. I would bet he bombards his local newspapers with letters to the editor, or what ever format the paper might offer that allows their readers to comment.
In any case he's not genuine, and as one MWDEGUTIS has pointed out, he could have an ulterior motive. However, I don't think he's really that smart, to be able to conduct a truly scientific project. What really drives ole Glaucon is an over inflated delusional ego, plus a high degree of narcissism.

Makes sense to me! But then isn't that the way it is everywhere? The trick is to become one of the rich elitists. Or,marry one.
