You have to be paranoid to think that a bureaucrat would deny protection for an ambassador paid for by another department.
The fact is that Stevens didn't want to appear to be armed to the hilt and frightened by the m*****as he was bargaining with for arms. He was presenting himself as a harmless buyer of goods.
From all the emails released by the CIA, the talking points were written by the CIA as a cover story. The question is: why do Republicans want to blow a CIA cover story? To make political hay with the lives of our agents in the field? Isnt this close to treason? Why do you h**e America?
