At the urging of a fellow OPP...er, I'm reposting a comment I made on another thread. There's a LOT going on in Israel and elsewhere in the Mideast. Too much to put in one post.

This is what I've been watching coupled with a few questions I asked of Payne but he got put on the Ignore List before he could answer . Anyone else with any thoughts?

Quote:
I hear the Saudis and Egyptians are pretty worried about Iran...worried enough to make an agreement with you-know-who. We all understand once the danger of Iran is over it will be back to business as usual in regard to you-know-who. Where does this put the Palestinians in their list of priorities? Trump, I also believe (correct me if I'm wrong) has met with King Abdullah. Maybe it's that they have been in contact. Regardless, Trump has this fella named Greenblatt working for him who seems to know how to leverage these guys. They just had a big powwow between Israeli and other business leaders and reps of the Palestinians...all this within the last few weeks, and I also hear that Abbas has already said he would agree to a face to face with Netanyahu under US mediation. Any thoughts? Are you aware that all this and more is going on now?

My own opinion is that the Arab League is about to pressure the Palestinians to accept a temporary agreement (with the unspoken caveat, of course, that once the greater danger is over it's back to business as usual with you-know-who).

There is a struggle between Sunni and Shia Islam, and geographically speaking, if you look at the map, Jordan, the Gulf States and Israel (which happens to have the best military in the region) are a buffer between those two competing ideologies. Iran itself is the one that will provide the pressure tip the balance and bring about this agreement I keep telling you is coming.

Mike,

I have blocked Payne so he will be unable to respond to your comments on this thread. I encourage you to make a thread with this information, as I believe it is very important. I also think you would get more participation and input if this was a thread instead of being buried in a thread intended to discuss Trolls on OPP.

Sorry for the inconvenience and I hope you understand.

Amazing - You seem to be confusing land with people.
People v**e, not counties.

I'm not sure why this matters. You do know, do you not, that the e*******l college, keeps the population centers from dominating the nation? That's it's purpose. It's on purpose. New York may have a lot of v**ers, but what's good for New York may not actually benefit anyone else. It's good that New York is not able to control the rest of the nation by virtue of their population. If that were allowed to happen it would be useless for the rest of us to v**e. Surely you see the wisdom in that.

Sorry Mr. B, but your analogy is flawed.
The crowd at any game is an observer, not a participant.
The v**ers going to the polls are participants whose very casting of v**es is supposed to lead to an outcome.

A more apt comparison might be if the team with the most points was declared the loser because of an arcane rule set by the governing body of the NFL.

The winner of the most games in the World Series is the champion, even if the loser actually scored more points. Does that make sense?

Be great to see trump go after the rightwingnut media buffons, like jones, fat limbah, and of course, the remaining fools at fox.

Such great entertainment.

This may hard to believe, but some who identify as Republicans are purists. That isn't the case with the majority of us who v**ed for Trump...and I agree, the reaction is funny. They're under the illusion that Trump has to do things a certain way and in a certain time frame. Establishment types, both parties, are afraid a Trump administration will expose how corrupt and ineffective (except in padding their own pockets) they've become.

Yep! It's a comedy, but we're watching what Trump's right hand is doing while the media and the Establishment are focused on his left.

So it turns out Alex Jones was only kidding.

That time the radio host and ringmaster of the “Infowars” website said the government brought Ebola into the country to terrorize us? That time he said a Beyonce video was created to start a new civil war, that time he wished gang rape on Jennifer Lopez, those times he suggested the Oklahoma City bombing, the Sept. 11 attacks and the bombing of the Boston Marathon were “false f**g” operations by the government against the people?

It was all an act. His lawyer says he was just playing a character. You see, he’s a “performance artist.”

That claim, reported Sunday by the Austin American-Statesman, came in an Austin courtroom as Jones’ ex-wife, Kelly, seeks custody of their three children on the not-unreasonable grounds that a man who spews spittle for a living is not someone you want raising your kids. She says Jones is “not a stable person.”

But lawyer Randall Wilhite argued that judging Jones by his on-air persona would be like judging Jack Nicholson by his performance as The Joker in “Batman.” In other words, like the Oscar-winning actor, Jones is just pretending to be a madman.

You have to wonder how Edgar Welch feels about that. He’s the North Carolina man who shot up a pizzeria in Washington, D.C., last year because he believed a tale spread by Jones and others that it was the headquarters of a child molestation ring run by Hillary Clinton. He faces the possibility of many years in prison when he is sentenced in June.

You have to wonder how Leonard Pozner feels about it, too. He’s been getting death threats and has been challenged to prove that his son Noah ever existed, all because Jones and others claimed the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, in which Noah and 25 others were k**led, was a h**x. He faces the rest of his life without his child.

Finally, you have to wonder how Donald Trump feels about it. The so-called president has professed admiration for Jones and has built his worldview, such as it is, around a Jones-like belief that a tangled skein of conspiracies explains virtually everything in life that refutes, frustrates or embarrasses him. We face four years of him steering the ship of state.

As regards the lawyer’s claim, there are two possible conclusions. One: he’s telling the t***h and Jones never believed the garbage he vomited. Or two: Jones is trying to h**x the court.

Not that it matters which is true. Either way, Jones has hurt people and ruined lives. Either way, he has helped damage the country.

We now live in the United States of Confusion, a nation of alternative realities and alternative facts where reasoned and informed political debate is all but impossible because too many of us prize ideology above factuality. A coterie of media charlatans eagerly caters to that intellectual flaccidity and Jones was loud among them, so there is a certain satisfaction in seeing him revealed as a hypocrite and fraud.

But the feeling is fleeting. After all, given the gullibility of his followers, there is no reason to believe this will be the end of him — or what he represents.

Jones fills a need. Frightened people seek easy ways to comprehend the big, bad world. Alternative facts and realities are among the easiest. And never mind the damage that is done, the ignorance that is fostered, the pain that is caused.

Meantime the rest of us — dare we still say, “most” of us? — muddle through actual reality using actual facts to confront the big, bad world. It is not easy.

Hey friend! I guess you made it home OK.

Alex Jones is funny and a definite nut, but the discerning ear can glean information from him that is actually useful...you just have to install a good filter.

You should read Tragedy and Hope if you haven't. 1400 pages. When I was in Dutch Harbor, weather being generally s**tty and all, I ordered the book from Amazon and read it, wanting to find out for myself what the thinking was behind the pushers (good word!) of this world government. The funny part is how the book came into being. Quigley is a starry-eyed true believer and an insider who figured that if they just told people what their goals were, the people would see the superiority of their purpose and go along with it. Needless to say, the g*******t progressives didn't exactly see it that way, and for years after its publication he ran into...problems trying to get the book into people's hands.

This, to all the deniers, who think this is a bunch of crap.

Find out who Quigley was.

Read Tragedy and Hope.
