No the Democrats don't have the same problem. The difference is, if they don't have the evidence to convict, they create it. Forged documents, illegal FISA warrants to spy, 51 Intel agents signing off on a lie, denial of the border crises and so on.........................

"Have the same problem..." = appearing to operate outside of legal boundaries, such as not having the evidence to convict.

No matter how many times they are asked for substantiating evidence, they won't have any.

Like you say, someone told them; they liked what they heard; it became "fact."

Do the democrats have the same problem, seems like they have been trying VERY HARD to convict Trump of something, anything, but still nothing being convincingly presented, unless of course it's to a bunch of true believers sitting in a grand jury box.

GREAT IDEA!!!!! Does that also mean that nobody has to pay into the retirement system since our all-wise, totally dev**ed to the public good politicians concluded they didn't have to put in a dime themselves?

Kahuna, you should read more... over 2100 demonstrators arrested.. in campuses all over the country..

ANd in Minnesota the demonstrators have been dispersed , an agreement was reached by both sides, the camp removed, by the demonstrators.. and the University of MN, has returned to final week and graduation for the class of 24...

Such single minded reporting only deepens the world dreadful opinion of the trump troops..

Of course all of this was carried out under the exclusive direction and insistence of Slo' Joe's administration and fully supported by state officials, correct? Public indignation and disgust with the behavior of our "elite educated" youth acting like a bunch of 5-year olds throwing a temper tantrum had absolutely nothing to do with it.

So you agree that it is a Ponzi scheme. The hole thing needs an overhaul. Those that are on it should be safe and their benefits continued. Those that are close should have their benefits too. Those that are a couple of decades out need to have the system modified to an investment system that actually grows their payments, and has more to payback than they put in.

Of course it is a Ponzi scheme, are you not taking money from "new investors" (young workers) to pay off "earlier investors" (retired workers)? It works great until you don't have enough "new investors" to pay off an ever growing population of "earlier investors".

I don't believe that the system will ever work as it is envisioned. Seeking higher returns means taking on more risk which is totally unacceptable to many people. Seek less risk and returns will be lower, again unacceptable to many people. Give people a choice of what ratio of returns to risk they are willing to accept and the administration of the system becomes much more complex and there will always be a group that sees the situation as grossly unfair to them. On top of that there is the high level of dedication and efficiency that our government bureaucrats have displayed over several decades.

Congress has to repay the trust fund all that it has taken. No foreign aide until it is payed back. Then the system must be over hauled. Those of us on the system MUST be the last on the system. It is obviously a Ponzi scheme. And you can't keep raising the age of retirement. No the money that you pay in MUST be put in your account with a real interest rate that will be paid back to you! If you die before collecting it all the remainder will go into a pot for those that have not earned it. The fraud has to be taken out, more oversight at the local offices. It cannot be operated at the DC level. Hell, they have sent multiple checks to the same address and not questioned it. SSI and the IRS both need to be overhauled. Congress is the responsible party it is on them. Unfortunately they don't care, they are only concerned with lining their own pockets.

Congress (or maybe I should say the treasury) is paying back all of the money it took from SS. Current estimates are that it will be fully paid back sometime around 2033 or 2034, then what? As for multiple payments, I can see the problem when you have to write out what, 2,000,000 checks a day, not hard for things to slip through. No need to keep raising the retirement age, as soon as it gets within a year or two of the average life expectancy things will quickly improve for the SSA, SS recipents, not so much .

Although I do agree with your points in principle, the amount of money spent on most of these types of projects ($ millions to $ 100's of millions, often over 10 years) is all but insignificant compared to the $ trillions the government overshoots it's revenues by on a annual basis. Even your source, Grants Plus, states that they only secured $150 million for their clients. Taking the $1.2 trillion at face value, does that include "big science" projects like the James Webb telescope, the human genome protect, NOAA c*****e c****e studies, etc.?

Thatā€™s what I meant. The DOD is just an example.

No problem, just that I get the impression that a lot of individuals firmly believe that 100% of all government fraud, waste and incompetence is exclusive to the DoD.

It's simple but costly to politicians whose main interest is themselves. Reduce the size and scope of government across the board. More accountability for every department. The DOD could have billions cut without affecting readiness. There are more clerks, staff, and "gophers" in the Military than fighting soldiers. Way to many contract overruns with no consequences. No Inspector Generals watching over the departments.
Almost forgot. Cut congressional staffs by 2/3's.

Why limit it to just the DoD? I'd suspect that EVERY department in the federal stable has an overabundance of useless personnel, and for some departments it's 100%.
