It isn't ridiculous. The owner of the gun was the aggressor, pulled out a gun and went after a man he had been arguing with with intent to k**l him. The intended victim managed to get the gun away from the aggressor and shoot
him before the attacker could regain the advantage and re-attack him. A clear case of self-defense.

Why would you say something that is absolutely incorrect? Until shortly before the civil war private individuals were allowed to have any type of weapon that existed, including cannons, Gatling guns and even fully outfitted warships.

No it doesn't. The result is the same even if the winning candidate loses every v**e in the other 24 states.

You have accused a number of people of not understanding your post; you need to include yourself among them. Your point was that under the scenario you proposed, a candidate could win the e******n with only 52,000,026 v**es. You then state that the result would be the same EVEN if this winning candidate loses every other v**e in the other 24 states. Actually, according to your scenario, the ONLY way this candidate could win with only 52,000,026 v**es would be if he DID NOT receive one single v**e in any of the other 24 states. As an example, if your candidate received merely one million v**es in each of the other 24 states he would win 76,000,026 v**es without winning any e*******l v**es in any of those 24 states. Even if the candidate won only one v**e among ALL the other 24 states he would still win with more than 52,000,026 v**es (in fact he would now receive 52,000,027 v**es). My point was that, since the ONLY way your candidate wins with only 52,000,026 v**es is if he does not win a single v**e in any of the other 24 states, your 52,000,026 v**es scenario is impossible.

When the Founders set up the e*******l college scheme for electing the president, it seemed like a good idea. But the way it functions now contains a fatal problem.

To show the principle involved I am going to use very approximate numbers. Those who can't handle simple arithmetic, and those who don't understand what "very approximate" means, need read no further.

Let's assume there are 200 million v**ers distributed among 50 states, so each state has 4 million v**ers. We also assume each state uses the "winner take all" method. To win the e******n a candidate then needs to win 26 states. In each state he needs 2M plus 1 v**es. So altogether he needs to win 52,000,026 v**es, which just over a quarter of the total v**es. In this way a demagogue with a solid base of less than a third of the e*****rate can become president.

Biden CALLED ON TRUMP (!) to join him in asking Congress to pass wide-ranging border security legislation negotiated by a team of Democratic and Republican senators, which the House GOP REJECTED AT TRUMP'S URGING (!)

β€œInstead of playing politics with the issue, why don’t we just get together and get it done?” Biden said from Brownsville, in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley

In his remarks at the Brownsville Border Patrol Station, Biden said officials desperately need more resources to secure the border. The legislation k**led by House Republicans included funding to hire additional border patrol agents and buy additional security inspection technology and equipment.

WHY THEY COME:
β€œYou have the United States in a moment of relative domestic stability with more job openings than workers,” Isacson said. β€œThroughout the region, you have economies that haven’t crawled out of the crater C***D left. You have repressive governments, c*****e c****e and gangs running rampant. You also have a broken U.S. asylum system where you can claim fear and be here for four or five years.”

IMMIGRANTS DOUBLED UNDER TRUMP TOO - UNTIL HE WAS ABLE TO INVOKE HEALTH LAW TO STOP IT
"The number of migrants arriving at the U.S. border dipped in the first year of the Trump administration before climbing again in 2018 and more than doubling in 2019. The C****-** p******c, when travel was restricted across the western hemisphere, depressed migration in 2020 and apprehensions at the U.S. border plummeted."

C***D HELPED TRUMP. END OF P******C RULES, JOB OPENINGS IN US STARTED THE CURRENT SURGE
...as the p******c waned and regional economies remained in distress, people began heading to the U.S. border in record numbers.

...AND THIS is why CONGRESS needs to PASS A BILL!!
U.S. District Judge David Alan Ezra on Thursday preliminarily prevented Texas from enforcing a law that would make it a state crime to cross the Texas-Mexico border. In his order granting an injunction, Ezra said β€œstates may not exercise immigration enforcement power except as authorized by the federal government.”
β€œSurges in immigration do not constitute an β€˜invasion’ within the meaning of the Constitution, nor is Texas engaging in war by enforcing SB4,” Ezra said in the order.
READ THE CONSTITUTION! KNOW WHAT IT SAYS!
β€œTo allow Texas to permanently supersede federal directives on the basis of an invasion would amount to nullification of federal law and authority – a notion that is antithetical to the Constitution and has been unequivocally rejected by federal courts since the Civil War,” he said.

The bill you quote would normalize 5,000 i******s a day. HR2 is a bill in the House of Representatives that would shut the border down the day it is passed; Biden and the democrat Senate are sitting on it. Have you heard much about the excellent bill HR2? I didn't think so.

I did not claim you don't know the definition of a Republican, I stated you don't have a clue what it is to be a Republican. This is because you live your life as a far left progressive and view everything though that lens, just as I view the world as a conservative who every day thanks God for the privilege of having been born in the most exceptional country in the world, the ONLY country whose people dictate the rights the government has, not the other way around.

I agree. President Biden is so fragile and mentally unstable, special unprecedented rules must be in place in any debate he partakes in. I especially like the one where highly partisan far left progressive "fact checkers" insert their version of reality into the debate in real time.

Yesterday on either CNN, to MSNBC, a commentator said that Justice Alito, and Justice Thomas would like to bring a case to court in which they would like to judge the constitutionality of birth control. I don't know if this is true or not, but it is the extreme position of some pro life believers.
Has anybody heard anything about this?

You have no worries. Is there a constitutional right to birth control? No, there is not. If the Supreme Court makes that rational ruling will that make birth control illegal? No, it will not. There are millions of things for which there is no constitutional right and which are freely and legally available. The Supreme Court can only rule on such a case if someone brings a case before SCOTUS that wrongfully claims there is a constitutional right to birth control (or root beer or chewing gum or working on crossword puzzles). SCOTUS then has a constitutional responsibility to examine the constitution to see if that right exits in it and then rule yay or nay.

I was awakened to the t***h about religions when I was about 35 years old and Chairman of the School Board and member of the Church Board of one of the largest Lutheran churches in Michigan. In these positions, I found out the true nature of religions. The school shoved religion onto brainwashed children and failed to teach them much of known science when it conflicted with their religious teachings. And the only interest the church board ever had was raising money, especially enough to keep the diocese running. Yep. To hell with the poor. Yes, I have read the bible cover to cover more than once, and when I took a hard look at what it actually says, it supported my growing belief that religions were nothing but s**ms.

And over the last few years, it has become obvious that religions have become h**e groups. I watched them in Kansas City in the 1990’s holding up signs that said "K**l the Gays." And signs held up by the same people that said β€œJoin the Baptist Church….” Now, religions are into pushing for book banning, abuse of L***Q people, causing the deaths of more pregnant women because of their protracted fight to ban a******ns nationwide, denial of basic human rights for gays, t***s people, atheists, and same sex marriages. Last I heard, failure to be able to obtain an a******n is responsible for a 6 percent increase in deaths of pregnant women in states where a******n has been banned. And religious wars continue in Nigeria where Christians are k*****g Moslems and vice-versa. And the fact is that the Christian religion has been murdering or supporting the murder of over 12 million people over the last 2,000 years. Not just the crusades either. Christians used the charge of β€œblasphemy” to have their personal enemies k**led, including burning at a stake. Then the Spanish Inquisition and the Salem witch trials. Then on to Africa and South America where they murdered native people who refused to accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior. And Martin Luther, a Christian who founded the Lutheran Church, encouraged Hitler to murder 6 million Jews. Nice guy. Really followed the supposed love they neighbor requirement of his bible.

In any case, certain members of this forum have become downright h**eful, vicious, and profane in their comments to me because I have challenged their beliefs in Christianity. So, I decided to state my opinions and conclusions as an article so the h**ers can have one spot to curse me and will not have to go looking all over. Here goes.

There is exactly not one verifiable piece of evidence that anything in the Bible is true. Not one. There is exactly not one single piece of valid evidence that any gods have ever existed. Not just the Christian god. This includes any of the other 2,000+ gods invented by 4,000 religions of mankind throughout history. If we get rid of Christianity, undoubtedly, some other sect will pop up. There is exactly no provable reason to believe that any religion is anything but a s**m created for the purpose of controlling others and taking their wealth. That is exactly what religions do. Some will actually help the poor now and then in an effort to demonstrate their belief in their book, but the end result is always recruit more members for their bankrolls. The real reason churches act benevolent is to attract more members to join the flock for fleecing. And they make a major effort to conduct both Sunday schools and secular schools for one purpose. That purpose is the brainwashing of children into believers for the rest of their lives in order to maintain and grow the flock over time for the purposes of controlling them and taking their money.

Christianity uses the carrot and stick approach to controlling others and fleecing them. The carrot is the false promise of heaven and the stick is the phony threat of hell. Interestingly enough, in order to keep that control going for as long as possible and covering virtually everyone in the church, you can sin all you want, and as long as you repent and believe in Jesus Christ before you die, you get to go to heaven anyway. Handy that little β€œget out of jail free” card, right? After all, all they really want is your money, and if they throw people out for not doing what they say, they would lose too much money. Longest running s**m around.

Anyway, the good news is that year by year, more and more people are figuring out that religions are a s**m. A study made a few years ago found that about 40 percent of Americans claimed they are not religious. Studies also found that the more educated and the more intelligent Americans are the ones who figured out that Christianity is a s**m. Yes, a well backed, well deigned s**m, but a s**m, period. And yes, Christianity has seriously become a h**e group. Comments on my comments elsewhere prove that. I have been vilified, cursed, called every name they can think of, and explicitly told that they h**e gays, same sex marriage, t***s people, and others not following their decrees. Yes, they propose eliminating the freedoms others have while they continue oppressing anyone they disagree with and are continuing to make major efforts to prohibit a******n nationwide. Not to mention the recent growth of Christian Nationalists, a strong reminder of Hitler’s minions. Then the religious nuts in Alabama went off the rails to declare Invitro fertilized frozen cells at fertilization clinics as babies and established legal penalties for the loss of a single cell. So, the clinics are shutting down due to the threat from this absurd law. Just more stupidity that demonstrates the validity of the claim that Christianity is all about control of others. Next, they will have adults and kids jailed for masturbation. And seriously, my claim of their fleecing of their flocks is further supported by the meme below about Joel Osteen, a TV preacher in Houston, Texas.
I was awakened to the t***h about religions when I... (show quote)

I believe you are confusing the actions of some individuals who claim to follow a religion (like, for example, yourself) with the religion itself.
