I didn't say it was an atheist. There you go jumping to conclusions again. Ask first or be stupid later...

What it boils down to is that we have a God given right to protect ourselves against those who want to do us harm.

If people like JohnCo are so wimpish that they don't want to protect himself and his family, he has that right but has no right to tell other law abiding citizens that they don't have the God given right to protect themselves.

THERE it is !!! I expected that Pulpit Wisdom would enter the discussion. It generally does.

Most of the RW Religiosos are creationists, young earthers, some are even flat earthers. But most are definitely illogical, irrational science deniers and anti-intellectuals. Oh, and also P A R A N O I D.

Gee Lar, I dunno if you're really a graduate doctor, but you certainly are being led with a ring in your nose by the Right Wing - - you're clearly a Doctor of Disinformation. Tsk tsk.

You can do just a little simple searching to find plenty of free, reliable information about logic and critical thinking.

I hope you can reach beyond what seems to be your two personal philosophies:

1) your mind is already made up, so no one can confuse you with facts

2) you are of the "don't try to teach an old dog new tricks" school.

1. Imagine there's no government at all.

2. Everybody can try to say wh**ever they want, and they can also try to shoot whomever they want.

3. Some people behave well, and some behave badly.

4. The bad ones do a lot of bad things. The good ones try to suppress the bad ones, but find they just have to k**l them off. Or try to.

"Funny" peculiar you should bring up that hypothetical...

That's how I see Ayn Rand/Atlas Shrugged, John Galt/Dagney Taggart and Libertarianism carried out to its logical consequences - - and why it's so dangerous.

(Special mention - - Mitt Romney named his son Taggart - - any particular influence, much ??? )

(1) the overwhelming number of dismissals or rejections by such a great number of courts.

You're quite right John. The last count I heard was 61 filings.

60 were either rejected, dismissed or had no standing. I believe one was an insignificant partial victory, but not any other parts of it...

It's not like the movies or TV. Folks don't actually have to have "their day in court" to have their data known. Briefs are filed and the prominent info is on the desks and before the eyes of the law clerks and the judges. It's how the judicial process works.

So far Biden has been more autocratic then Trump. With over 60 E.O.s.in his first month in office. Most with a negative effect on America.

You do realize that executive orders are numbered and published in the Federal Register, don't you ??? Last I read, Biden's EOs on Feb 8 were 29. So, please re-check your source for exaggerating their numbers.

If you don't like it, why don't you "Get Lost !"? And take your "crap" and "rats ass" with you.

Ya kno John, what's really inexplicable, and somewhat frightening at the same time, is how hostile and combative these radical folks are. Anything that is contrary to their beliefs seems to render it impossible for them to have a conversation with anyone without resorting to threats or violent suggestions. Unfortunately, these are the same type of folks who responded to djt's call to arms. They feed him and he feeds off of them. They are marionettes/puppets of each other.

The Oscar is just too Notable to pass up...

I don't understand Oscars "notability" ??? djt has voluntarily "resigned" from SAG-AFTRA when he was up for a v**e to be involuntarily removed. Of course the comment in his letter was typical trumpanian: "they did nothing FOR ME" - - and that's all he's ever cared about. HIM HIM HIM !!!

HE is an A-1 narcissistic sociopath - - please wake up !!! He doesn't believe in anything. He only said he believed in what you say you believe in so that he'd get your v**e. He just wants to win for his own reasons, not yours.

So the sadness is that you and your fellow radicals even believe the way you do, and the sickness is that he capitalized on that - - you guys can't even see that he's using you !!!

At least your friend got to live to a nice age. (...snipped...)

JohnCo wrote:
You're too quick for "fight and die". That should be a much longer step from "Think what you like, you're wrong and we're right".

I had a friend who was a die-hard Trump supporter. He posted a picture of himself with some Trump paraphernalia, maybe a MAGA hat on, and he said he would die for our president (which was Trump at that time).

He was a very hospitable friend, and had a nice home and a very respectable job, which he had worked hard for. He was a very accomplished and capable person.

When I visited him, he said that he liked to watch TV with his gun handy, so that when he would see people on the TV wearing a head scarf he could pretend to shoot them. I did not like that at all (I've had at least one friend who was Muslim and covered her head as so many of them do); but I did not say anything about it (though I probably should have); I hoped to be a good guest.

He died of C****-**. I speculate that, being a Trump supporter, he may have shared Trump's disdain for "masks" or other precautions about C****-**. So I think maybe he really did die for Trump, that is, die because of his unthinking support for Trump which led to his ignorance about C****-**. That's just me speculating though; he might have caught C****-** for some other reason even if he was sensible about it.

I'm pretty sure he would have had more sense than to actually murder Nancy Pelosi or hang Mike Pence, but I suppose he might have been proud to help contribute to the general mayhem at the Capitol building if he could have been there on J*** 6. I bet he would have brought his gun along, but maybe unloaded. Enough to cause traumatic experiences, but not to cause death by _his_ bullet.

I wouldn't say any of this to his family, who, so far as I know, are decent and peaceful people.

In my opinion, his excessive allegiance to Trump was unnecessary and harmful to himself. In most other ways he was a fine person.
You're too quick for "fight and die". T... (show quote)

So first of all JohnCo, in re-reading your comment, you don't mention your friend's age - - and yet our pal "larry" makes an assimption and believes that he "got to live to a nice age". This is the problem the right-wing often has with comprehension, even doctors it seems: one of their favorite exercise is jumping to conclusions !!!

I'm sorry for your friend dying from c***d, JohnCo, but this is my speculation. "IF" your friend had shown up at trumple's Capitol Hill i**********n, and "IF" he had taken his gun, it likely would have been loaded. The majority of gun enthusiasts believe that you don't point a gun at someone unless you have the ability to use it - - and they'd call that self-defense.

The only beliefs to be upheld are what the Founders wrote and created in the Declarations, Bill of Rights, Constitution and the tenets and ethos that make our Social Compact which you’re in direct violations of !

Take a walk off the cliff !

Like so many others of your ilk, you see "OUR" (NOT just YOUR) Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Federalist Papers, etc etc, as 240-year-old manifestos.

So sorry for you and yours, but my kind just don't see it that way - - we think that the Founding FATHERS set those up to be living documents - - subject to changing times. AND they built those mechanisms of change into the documents which, for some reason, you choose to ignore.

That's why many of us call ourselves Progressives, and conversely think of all of you as Regressive - - and when you spout that kind of ancient, backward bull pucky, it continues to be really difficult to view you any other way.

And speaking of cliffs - - we think it's your kind and the people you v**e for who are pushing our country over the cliff (and that's "US" trying to pull it back)...
