The problem is that this is stupid one-ups-man-ship between men with nuclear weapons being the focus. The problem is Trump has stupidly removed us from the position of being considered upright, fair and just to one of distrust, opinion and stupidity. We no longer can claim we have the right to dictate our will upon other nations. Trump has proven that a deal with the US means nothing, just like his word means nothing.

There is nothing we can say anymore that will have any weight in persuading N. Korea to give up its aspirations for becoming a nuclear power. Indeed we will now probably see many more smaller nations choose to pursue the same.

I agree that n. Korea will "probably" not start a nuclear war because their goal was to be treated as an equal on the world stage. And with Trump's insane bullying upon them they soon will be as saner countries realize N. Korea's nuclear ability is no longer a possibility but a reality. Why force N. Korea to "prove" itself by using them? The sanctions will be dropped, N. Korea won this round.

BUT N. Korea isn't the problem, Trump is! Only a really stupid fool would refuse to see that Trump is actually itching to prove "his" strength. I m not a self proclaimed expert, nor do I probably qualify as a "scholar", but I strongly believe these labels are quite useless if you can't think thing through or have a closed mind. Sadly most people seem to make their so-called decisions on a purely emotional level ignoring the reality around them. If you are so desperate to only accept things that support your position, whether it be political, religious, science or theory, then you probably should reconsider what you believe in.

I try to seriously challenge the claims of those who are in contradiction with what I understand, and truly cannot respect those who cannot explain how they reached their conclusions. All to often I find that even the most persistent, loudest, vehement or dismissive have made their claims based on an emotional decision, or worse are just echoing or parroting something they were told, overheard or read without actually weighing any options. Most of these people love the "debate", usually putting people down in the process, but actually just don't like to think things through on their own. Much like the so-called conservative evangelicals who promote the GOP's garbage because their pastor or priest told them what to believe; they don't bother with the effort to question, verify or consider what they are being told.

To avoid future surprises I am a white Christian fairly liberal progressive, although I may be considered contradictory to this claim at times (there are few absolutes in life with the exception of God).
