Houston Chronicle Un-endorses Cruz

Things in the nation's capital would look far different if Texas' former Republican Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison were still in office, says the Houston Chronicle, which endorsed Ted Cruz in last November’s e******n.

With Cruz and fellow tea party lawmakers spearheading efforts to dismantle Obamacare that shut down the federal government, Cruz’s hometown paper now regrets that decision, noting that its endorsement came “with many reservations and at least one specific recommendation — that he follow Hutchison's example in his conduct as a senator."

"We miss her extraordinary understanding of the importance of reaching across the aisle when necessary," the paper said.

"Obviously, [Cruz] has not done so," the editorial continued. "Cruz has been part of the problem in specific situations where Hutchison would have been part of the solution."

When I was young The GOP had men like Taft, Goldwater, Buckley.Men that could do things Build things. And run things. Now, not so much. It must be nice to be 100% right 100% of the time and never let facts get in the way. And if you don't agree call names.I would like to think I'm an
engineer. And we do what works. We live in the real world.
All I'm saying is whats going on is not working for the country. I think Obama set a trap and it worked.
And I just found out Ron Paul was a Demo. Who Know?

Now I may be a old man, pushing 80, retired with my wife in the little shack we own west of Phoenix.
But this is not the first rodeo I was ever in. A few years ago a bunch of us hard-headed types thought
the Govt. was spending too much money and sticking their nose in places it shouldn't be. We thought
Ron Paul might end some of the worst of it. So began the Tea Party.

It got so big so fast that the pro's had to jump in, and with a lot of help from some big money out of Texas, they turned a Grassroots thing Into AstroTurf. The next mid-term went to The GOP, and we won the House with a lot of help from the Ron Paul people. The big money boys had their way, and the libertarian types got thrown out of the movement they'd founded. So, if you have enough money you can buy anything. [RIGHT] Harry Reid was on his way out, we were going to win the Senate, and the weak pres. was as good as gone. Then here came the Teabaggers, the biggest nutcases in the GOP, who ran a Wackobird in NV. Reid Won. Then they ran some Rape-is-a-gift-from-God nuts, and lost the Senate and some of the safe seats in the House. This is smart?

A few days before the pres. e******n I was over in Phoenix, and stopped in to see what the GOP brains were up to. They were all sitting around patting each other on the back, talking about how big the landslide for Romney was going to be. Well, while they were stopping 6 or 8 brown people from v****g, the Dem's were busing in hundreds to v**e. Who won that one, I wonder?

Just when did Conservative become short for rich spoiled brat and i***t? At one time the GOP was the party of small business, professionals, and the middle class. Now it's the 1% top and the insane. If you don't win, well drum your little heels on the floor and momma will buy it for you.You don't want to hear anything you don't agree with. You wouldn't let Ron Paul talk or any one who tells the t***h, and now you think you'll get your way by ruining the US's credit? I have but one thing to say: LOTS OF LUCK, LEMMINGS.

Subject: DONATION! (Maybe a worthy cause,?!?)

DONATION!

A driver was stuck in a traffic jam on the highway outside Washington, D.C. Nothing was moving. Suddenly a man knocked on the window.

The driver rolled down the window and asked, “What’s going on?”

“Terrorists have kidnapped the entire U.S. Congress, and they’re asking for a $100 million dollar ransom. Otherwise, they’re going to douse them all in gasoline and set them on fire. We’re going from car to car, collecting donations.”

“How much is everyone giving, on an average?” the driver asked.

The man replied, “Roughly a gallon.”

How about this?

Congressional Reform Act of 2013

1. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer v**e themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/1/13. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.

Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

If you want to know what's going on, just follow the money.
For the last week or so I have received over 200 emails wanting money,
from both the left and right. The left wants $3 to $10 to stop the shutdown,
The right wants $25 to $250 to stop Obama. And Cruz want's $1000 to
protect me from Healthcare. At my age it might be a bad idea to live any longer.
What BS! The shutdown will go on as long as both sides are making money.
Money is the GOD. none of them care what's best for the country,
as long as they're rich when we all go under
