Because it has nothing to do with the lies Trump tells or whether Cohen was telling the t***h or lying when he testified on Trumps's lies. That is what makes it deflection. Now if this discussion was on the Stormy Daniels' lawsuit against Trump, then it would be on topic and relevant, otherwise off topic and irrelevant. Try leaving your emotions out, try arguing based on facts and perhaps if you succeed in keeping your emotions in check, you will see that Stormy Daniels, while admittedly, was involved in the incident that triggered the chain of events that led to the crimes being committed, has absolutely no place in this discussion, hence DEFLECTION!

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) said that Congress wants to investigate Trump for various financial crimes, including fraud against the US government.
Sen. Blumenthal said on MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber:

They are made necessary by the Ways and Means Committee wanting — and protect the public against the kind of tax fraud that was revealed very dramatically in the in the Cohen hearings. Inflating the value s of properties to insurance companies or banks. That’s against the law…It’s fraud.

That’s fraud against those insurance companies. It’s bank fraud. It could be fraud against the government. Also, deflating the values for tax purposes, that’s tax fraud. But also I think what strikes me about the Cohen testimony is the kind of Pandora’s box it opened. Not only in terms of witnesses but also potential
crimes.

Rachel Maddow gave a crystal clear example from the Cohen testimony of how Trump committed bank fraud. Those who claimed that there was nothing new in the Cohen hearing missed a treasure trove of new information. The takeaway from the Cohen testimony is that Trump’s financial crimes are more comprehensive than anyone could imagine. Trump is and was engaged in a wide variety of fraud.

Trump c***ted banks. Trump c***ted insurance companies. Trump c***ted the United States government. Congress will be investigating it all. The most interesting potential investigation will be into whether Trump conspired to defraud the United States. Trump would have c***ted the United States if he lied to the government to get any asset, contract, assistance, subsidy, or loan.

Donald Trump never wanted his tax returns released because they will reveal the extent of his fraud.
Congress is going to get his tax returns, and the conman’s great con will finally be exposed.

Who gets to decide whats "reasonable"? Politicians? The same ones who can't run this country are going to decide what a reasonable check is? The ones who put self and party ahead of country? That won't work.

Who decides who is unhinged? What doctor? A psychiatrist? Psychiatrists and psychologists as a group are unhinged themselves. Everyone on this planet can qualify as being unhinged at one time or another. Are you advocating snitching on your neighbor? How will that work if someone gets p.o.'d and decides you are unhinged? Its your word against his. Then when they find that system isn't working all that great they'll come up with even MORE guidelines and even longer waits.

Are we to end up like the movie Minority Report? Deny someone a right just in case they may commit a crime because some bureaucrat deemed them unsuitable?

There are tracking systems in existence we could take advantage of. So when someone is called in for a check everything comes up. If they have a criminal history, drug abuse, run ins with the law it will all be there. There is no need for yet more bureaucracy.

At the time I was on RW hunting sites posting v**e records, and gun bills were receiving solid democratic support. Meanwhile sensible gun bills were rejected by the right. or they got GOP support but they denied that they had supported a bill. I proved on a few bills was that republicans were v****g for bills and then going home and stumping with representations that these were "dem" gun bills that they opposed when they hadn't.

The right needs to talk about what is sensible and support it, or the fear of everything is going to create a backlash that goes far farther than the sensible places in the middle.

I have noticed lil kevy advancing his never ending 'straw man' articles supporting his belief in a******n anytime, anywhere. Myself, being pro life, I have reluctantly begun to rethink my position in light of what's happening in NY & VA by the i***tic Governors of those states advocating aborting a fetus right up to the time of birth. I fear this could become the norm in other lib bastions like CA, WA, OR, MA, NM, among others. Maybe we should allow a******n 'on demand' by these women, (often, ignorant s**ts not smart enough to use precautions) with one caveat and that being they will be permanently sterilized thus preventing these heart wrenching decisions for them, from ever happening to them again. An 11-year-old Argentinian girl who was denied an a******n received a caesarean section this week, sparking a new debate about the country’s strict a******n laws.
The BBC reports that the child, who was raped by her grandmother’s 65-year-old partner, had requested an a******n. Confusion over the girl’s legal guardianship caused the a delay until her 23rd week of pregnancy, at which point doctors argued it was too risky to carry out the procedure.
The girl’s mother had approved an a******n, but since the child lives with her grandmother, the mother’s consent was deemed insufficient. The grandmother’s approval was also considered inadequate since her legal guardianship was terminated over her relations with the rapist.

Several doctors reportedly refused to perform the procedure due to personal beliefs. The baby was born alive, but doctors said its chances of survival are poor, according to the BBC.
Local media reported that the girl was clear about her desire to end the pregnancy. “I want this thing the old man put inside me taken out,” she told officials.
That the girl was forced to deliver the baby via c-section has caused uproar among human rights activists.
“When this 11-year-old rape victim entered the hospital requesting a legal a******n, the authorities’ number one duty should have been protecting her life and health. Instead, they put up obstacle after obstacle with the sole aim of denying the girl her rights,” Erika Guevara-Rosas, Americas director at Amnesty International, said in a statement.
While a******n is illegal in Argentina, a 1921 law allows the procedure in cases of rape or where a women’s health is in danger.
In August 2018, the Argentine Senate v**ed against legalizing a******n in the first 14 weeks of life.
