Lordy, it was "their' money being held for wrong doing, which they continued to do in their sponsoring of terror and violence. To think it would not be put to that use is nothing more than sheer idiocy.
Giving Iran that money was nothing more than a bribe to get them to sign on to the Iran Nuclear deal, which I don't actually think they ever did. But that is all it was and Iran laughed all the way to the airport to collect the American cash in unmarked bills!
