This is where the PADDLE falls into place. When a student can not, or will not follow protocol, their bottom should be warmed by a "Corporal punishment" device.(See above).

Yep. I agree there should be discipline in schools but you can't have teachers as the people doing it. Go right back into the home. When I began school there were rules both at home and school. Discipline at home and the requirement children go to school to learn and abide by school rules and punishment at home for failures. What parent does this today? Some to be sure. But in the main schools are babysitting orgs and brainwashing establishments.
Can't you just see the lawyers grinning with a backlog of a couple thousand lawsuits against the school system and teachers for administering corporal punishment?

How about a definition of what a school is for?
Sports, good times, proms, opportunity to show off the latest hair and clothing styles, providing jobs for teachers?

Maybe to prepare oneself to be a productive member of society? Nah! can't do that 'cause it might inhibit freedom to be a dummy for the rest of their lives.

We have 'progressed' so far that the relationship between eating and effort is lost. A hungry cold belly can inspire all sorts of inventiveness that is missing when every need is met without any personal input.

Here’s the sign that the school posted in their halls and soon went v***l on the Internet:

Dear parents

We would like to remind you that magic words such as hello, please, you’re welcome, I’m sorry, and thank you, all begin to be learned at home
It’s also at home that children learn to be honest, to be on time, diligent, show friends their sympathy, as well as show utmost respect for their elders and all teachers.
Home is where they learn to be clean, not talk with their mouths full, and how/where to properly dispose of garbage.
Home is also where they learn to be organized, to take good care of their belongings, and that it’s not ok to touch others.
Here at school, on the other hand, we teach language, math, history, geography, physics, sciences, and physical education. We only reinforce the education that children receive at home from their parents.

Indeed. Too bad it will not be understood or heeded if in fact, even read. Poor parenting is in the main, a major part of the problem and reading a notice posted at school isn't going to fix it.
This sort of thing can only be dealt with ( at this stage of the game by 24/7 indoctrination on TV and the movies of the 'real' life in America. Get rid of the crap and replace it with 'wholesome' matter. Schools will have to follow. Who will do it?
Don't know maybe a better definition of what 'smut' is in broadcasting and the required adherence to the provisions of the license to broadcast will help.

I find absolutely nothing in your post to which I do not agree. Just one little note.
I am working on 83 years old. I began 1 st grade in 1939 and graduated from high school in 1951, just in time for the Korea War. I enlisted in the Navy rather than wait to be drafted.
Before I began school, I could read and write(print) and knew the multiplication tables and could stand and recite them without slouching or leaning against anything. We had prayer in school, we recited the pledge and actually studied. Emphasis on spelling, grammar, history and the like. Bad marks on report cards were dealt with. I don't remember any big deal re a good report card because after all that was why you were sent to school.
Just imagine my outlook on where our country is and appears to be going. I won't write all the kids off but there are several who could stand a bit of improvement in all areas such as dress, language, ambition, honesty, religion and patriotism.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks for the info re sanctuary federal funds, what happens then? Are we deporting them? Or are we going to have 20-30 million homeless? Will they go home? I guess we wait and see.
I agree with 'no free anything' to i******s. I would be an advocate of arresting the officials that turn their heads and ignoring illegal behavior. A couple convictions of shielding criminals might make some of the others reconsider. There is really no excuse. Why have laws if some are able to pick the ones they will follow or enforce.
I guess I missed the part in the Constitution about choosing which law is ok by me. I do recall the oath each one swears to enforce when taking office.

I can't argue with the points made so let's go back a step. Why are there 'good' people and 'bad' people?
May we suggest wherever the influence is stronger. I know of people who have gone through divorce where the mother exerted the strongest influence over a child or children. Dad's influence was negated for wh**ever reason and the child/children adopted mom's way of doing business to what determined the kids attitude, character, etc. I hasten to add the reverse between wife and husband certainly happens. I am merely discussing two cases that went the way I mentioned.

You cannot force people to be religious nor force people to be patriotic but we can influence behavior to instill these qualities. We might infer people who don't share these qualities were not subjected to the influence that brings the qualities out.
I really feel sorry for people that were not taught by their parents/guardians to develop a work ethic, be honest, and so many other traits most of us enjoy.
Our pioneer forebears passed on down to the next generation what was in vogue at the time and hoped it would take care of them. The succeeding generation did likewise. Somewhere it began to break down until we have what we have today.
I'm sure there are many reasons for this. Entropy in engineering is a premise that you never get back from a system all of what you put into it. So some of the 'goodness' will be lost each generation same as crafts and sk**ls.
How do we go back? Can't even guess a working solution. We should be thinking about it a bit.
Hope this is not too long/boring to try to make a point. Try to instill behavioral traits in your children that you would like your next neighbor to have.

What you are missing is the previous administrations justice department ignoring i*********n l*ws. Remember when
Arizona tried to pass legislation mimicking federal i*********n l*ws and the justice department came down hard. The Obama DOJ just looked the other way on i*****l i*********n. It was said that the border agents were more or less baby sitters as their hands were tied.

Of course you are correct. Also it is coming out that maybe more than a few were accepting bribes/drugs to look the other way.
I guess I am bummed about having laws that are not enforced regardless of of the origin of the law, fed, county, city, wh**ever.

Got a thought. Go git 'em Donald.

Not me. I am a retired old geeze who remained employed for 43 years. I after my USN time I worked for a utility in power plants for just over 32 years with only one sick day. I wasn't really sick the day I called in sick, got inhibited and never did it again. No brag, just fact.

Don't quite understand some of what I read. People creating and condoning sanctuary cities/counties/colleges ignore the fact those in the country without a visa or overstaying it are violating the laws of immigration. True or false?
Assuming true is the answer, why aren't those who fail to enforce the law not guilty of violating first their oath and also condoning the breaking of the law. Why aren't they accessories? And as such subject to penalties as well. Aren't they harboring illegal persons? Concealing or hiding other lawbreakers is a crime like giving even a suspected criminal refuge, a car to escape and lying to cover any part of it up.
Can anyone imagine the Gov of Texas having the sheriff of the sanctuary county arrested and put in a cell with a few i******s?
Please tell me what I am missing here.

"I cannot for the life of me understand, who are the people that area watching what is on TV today. Does anyone know the answer to that question?"
Let's try this:
Saturday am, kids watching, push cereals, junk food, toys and other stuff kids will raise Cain to get.

Weekend pms and evenings, men watching, push beer, cars, trucks and other sports programs

Afternoons for ladies stuck at home, soap operas, nail polish, bras, hair products, easy fix foods, laundry products.
It is obvious to me. Companies (sponsors) are not spending advertising bucks for nothing. They are targeting the people who are most likely to buy the product they are pushing.
Another case of brain washing for about 24/7

I was taken aback when my daughter was in grade school, character seemed to be a lesson. I was then appalled wondering why? My child's character is my responsibility, not the schools. Sadly, I had not the wherewithall to home school her.

Indeed her character is a parent responsibility but reading your response, I doubt your daughter's character is going to be a problem for either you or her. Cheers!!

There are plenty of i***ts out there. I knew a guy, 10 years younger than me, he thought we dropped the A bomb right after Pearl harbor.
Ya just can't legislate stupidity. Though it would be nice.......

Yep there are lots of i***ts and only slightly in partial defense of some of the i***ts. Had we had a nuke, very likely Pearl would not have occurred. Also the process of building a nuke is very complicated and time consuming so not knowing that or anything about a nuke weapon, the average person would never realize what the "Manhattan Project" was all about. I would love to see the cost of building the nuke compared to the rest of the bucks spent on WWII. I would guess about one half.
Just recall the fundamental particle, the neutron was first discovered in 1932. Only 13 years before the first detonation ( in New Mexico) of a nuke. Another 13 years got us the first commercial nuke power plant (Shippingport, PA, 1958.
I mention neutrons in the unlikely event persons might not know, nukes operate by the rapid fissioning of a fuel by neutrons.

Not to brag, but I scored 30 out of 30. However, in my defense, I do have 3 degrees in American History.

My dad was in the Marines during WW2. He seldom spoke about his exploits until he was on his deathbed. Initially, my dad was one of Adm. Halsey's Personal Marine Detachment, 1st Marine Division ("Just a fancy name for Halsey's body guards," my dad claimed). He held that honor for a while; even managing to "liberate" some of Halsey's silver dinnerware (which I now have) before being t***sferred to a rifle company. He was among the first ashore on Okinawa. He and one of his squad-mates were sharing an outer perimeter foxhole during one of the Japanese many attacks. My dad said he emptied his M1 several times and was just about out of ammo when the Japanese soldiers finally reached their fox hole. My dad was shot in the knee. His squad-mate was shot twice and then bayoneted.

My dad shot and k**led the Japanese soldier who'd k**led his squad-mate, plus two more that were attacking their, specific, hole, including the one who'd bayoneted his squad-mate, before he was out of ammo. Oddly, at that point, their Japanese retreated back to their lines, allowing the Marine to gather-up their dead and wounded. My dad was evacuated back to a field hospital for surgery to remove the bullet in his leg. Six weeks later, he was allowed to return to his squad and finished out the battle. For this and subsequent actions, he was awarded the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star Medal, and the Silver Star Medal.

His older brother was a Sherman tank commander with Patton's armies; beginning with Patton in North Africa; going with him to Sicily; then, with his 3rd Army in France. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and ended the war crossing the Rhine River and hooking-up with Russians west of Berlin.

As for myself, in a nut-shell, I joined the Navy in 1970. Went to Pensacola NAS and graduated a Naval Flight Officer. January 1973, found me stationed aboard the USS Midway as an F-4 Phantom NFO/RIO (back seat rider), attached to VF-161. On our 3rd mission, we were shot down by a SAM. My "stick" (pilot) was vaporized as the missile took out the front of our aircraft, just as his seat cleared the canopy rails. (Ejection sequence of an F-4 Phantom was that the back seat ejected 1.5 seconds before the front seat to avoid the 2 aviators from smashing into each other.). Pete was a married man with 2 small kids and a drop-dead, built like a 2 story brick outhouse, beautiful wife. I was unmarried with no kids.

I splashed just a couple of hundred yards from the North Vietnam shore. Immediately, NVA soldiers were on the beach and I was taking fire. In just a few minutes, a Rescue chopper was overhead. Someone tossed me an M16 and I emptied it firing back toward shore. Then, a gunship arrived and took care of the enemy on the shore while I was hauled aboard the Rescue chopper. I left the Navy in September of 1973, being unable to pass the medical physical to return to flying.

Some Liberal twit was talking the other day about how the evil US dropped the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and k**led all those civilians. I mentioned not only Bataan, but also the Rape of Nanking. All I got was a deer in the headlights look of complete confusion. WTF do they teach these days? It isn't history.

How about how wonderful Socialism/C*******m is and how corrupt Capitalism is? Oh yeah don't t forget how mankind is ruining the planet.
Can't get over reading an ad taken out by a real brain when she blasted a h****r for taking a deer for meat. "Why can't you get meat at the store like everybody else?"Just think of all those chickens and steers that k**l themselves, butcher themselves, wrap themselves, attach those cute little UPC stickers and jump into the refrigerated display cases. Amazing, I guess.
Not a real surprise though as I was writing the above, I recalled hearing a sailor on my boat totally at a loss as to whom the US was fighting in WWII. And this about 6 years after WWII was over.
