Too many conservatives rant about the evils of government, yet seem to forget that every police department, fire department, road services, the military, schools, parks, highways are all part of socialism. Everyone who pays taxes pays for these services, and everyone has the right to use them.
Each of us has priorities, so I support the above, plus healthcare, SS and other social services, and I care less about taxes, gun rights, military interventions, space exploration. I am undecided on the proper way to handle immigration reform, and would gladly support restrictions on all immigration for a period of years.
I support unions, higher wages and most EPA regulations regarding working place safety, and most regarding the environment.
I am opposed to unregulated banking, out-sourcing, trade treaties like Nafta, Cafta, etc.
Most posters complain about about liberals giving everything away, but fail to see corporate welfare and business tax abatements as give-aways. I oppose both of those concepts.
