I don't know how we force him out of office since the people of Nevada elected him, but we certainly can move him back to Minority Floor Leader in November at the e******n. Of course, his lies and pure crap can still be spoken on the floor of the Senate just like McConnell's are today. However, he won't be deciding which bills can be considered on the floor and will be sent to the proper committees for consideration.

I think you are right that many CEOs pay needs to be adjusted. However, while I can't state that no CEO gets $240MM, I doubt you will find that virtually no CEO gets paid that amount. There are some in the larger companies that draw $20MM or more - which is (IMHO) too much. Personally, I am a CEO of a public company, but my pay is far less than that (not even 200K!). My long term, loyal employees are paid well and only a few of the very new people are at the low end of the scale - though at this time we are starting them about $1/hr over minimum wage.

As to health care... as an employer I wasn't keen on it, but Hawaii has a fairly good law... for any individual that works in excess of 19 hours per week, you are required to provide basic medical coverage. Everyone has a net so to speak.

I have to disagree with the accusation against Republicans pushing for business to pay its executives extremely well and stiff the low end employees. Republicans support an economy where businesses are encouraged to flourish. Business in general is to use available resources efficiently to provide a product or service. That product or service has to be available at a price the consumer is willing to pay. This necessitates keeping production costs in check.

As a laborer, you are essentially in business for yourself... you offer your services for a fee. If your fee is too high, you will have difficulty in finding buyers. The more sk**ls you can offer a company, the better chances you will have of attaining a better wage. The number of people at the minimum wage level is a very small percent of the working population. It isn't intended to be a "living wage"... it is an entry level pay floor intended for the truly unsk**led worker.

I would rather see a two-tiered system... a minimum wage slightly above where it is now - intended for teens and others who are not relying on the job for full support. And a Living Wage that is intended for adults who are supporting themselves. This living wage would need to be set at an amount above the poverty level.

Yes, the Republican Party, from Abe Lincoln to Teddy Roosevelt, stood for progressive politics where the rights of the oppressed were more important the rights of those who wanted the darkies to be back in their place and the return to the unfettered capitalism of the late 19th Century.

Today, the parties have switched places, although the Democrats actually give only lip service, for the most part, rather than true support. Both are part of the corporate plutocracy that rules the nation today.

Based on a presumption, how could selling a wedding cake to two women or men cause "substantially burden[ing]" a person's exercise of religion. Did it stop them from going to church? Did it cause them to sin? I don't see it.
