just buy a pineapple, cut the top off about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick and plant it in a 10 inch flower pot keep the tray full of water and in 18 short months you should have a pineapple when you eat that one save the top and repeat

I do that. Right now I have one that has been growing for almost a year. I also plant avocado seeds and they grow nicely for me.....they do not bloom nor give me any fruits, but the trees are beautiful. I have done the same with other seeds....we always have seeds and I plant them. Wow, I thought I was by myself in this unusual hobby.

The actual mistake was Cabelas charging it... they misunderstood that this tax was supposed to be on the manufacturer so there would be no way we could find out... simple as that. And, since a fishing rod isn't a medical device, it appears the actual amount is 10% not 2.3%.

I can see that you still do not understand. I wonder, how much disposable income do you have? Are you living paycheck to paycheck or dependent on the government for your existence. If so, then perhaps you should start paying attention to people who are wealthy, they know thing that you are refusing to comprehend.

That is because this tax that Cabela's applied was a mistake. Go to http://www.factcheck.org/2013/09/cabelas-medical-tax-mistake/

The true mistake was it appearing on the receipt. It should have been an increase in the cost of merchandize and therefore obscured from public view. Those who are obligated to pay the tax are passing on their shortfalls to distribution points, those business ordinarily pass on the cost to the customer. This is just simple bus 101. You know, I am always surprised when people do not realize this and take it into consideration when they think they are getting something for nothing. Medical care is not free, taxes on everything is paying for it. Free gifts from your cable provider is not free, they are passing the cost on to existing customers. Frequent flyer miles are not free, all those folks that fly pay for those miles in increased air fares. Nothing is free!!!!

At some point intelligent b****s and other minorities will realize how they've been manipulated by people as low as Harry Reid.

He and others have been on autopilot for years! The moment they do not get what they want, it is the race issue. Thanks for the post, it was interesting.

What is a Judaphile, a follower of Judas? I'm serious, I don't know. It isn't in my dictionary.

When I wrote my reply, very early in the morning, I just gave you what I though that he intended. But, as you and I know, he is not direct in his responses. So, his remark has troubled me until I had a moment and thought about it. Whereas he claims love for Juda, is it love for the people as in biblical times, modern times, or the proposed WH times. You see, in bible times the area of Jerusalem was owned and occupied by a tribe from the 12 tribes. The same that produced King David. In modern times, this area is primarily occupied by the PA. The proposed peace plan of the WH: "The US position under Kerry includes creating an Arab capital in Jerusalem, as well as massive Israeli withdrawals from Judea and Samaria. Herzog last December expressed his support of that exact position. During his meeting with Kerry last weekend, he urged Kerry to ignore the right and push through the plans." See http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/178235#.UxoNw5vn_IU

Therefore, I have thought about this and his prior posts, I believe him to say that he supports the PA and the proposed peace agreement outlined by Obama and Kerry. Of course I do not know what is in his mind, I can only draw on past performances, his open hostility to me, and current events.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Thanks. I was hoping that you were not reacting to the words I spoke to my friend. But, it was in Greek and it was not polite of me, and most people do not speak Greek so I figured I should error on the side of over explaining than have anyone think I was rude.

I did not say anything bad to my friend. What I said in Greek: I bet that you also called her doll! This was one of the first expressions I learned. Yes, you are right on the line of David.
I see that my friend has weighed in to call you a bad name. I want to say ,one day what I think of him!

Fraud
Cognitive dissonance and critical thinking

Good luck changing that....

Interesting that you label these discussion points as myths. I would enjoy reading your opinions on each.

I believe that there are people that take advantage of the system or safety nets, but I do not think that everyone receiving assistance are frauds. But, any system will have a number of dishonest people.

I do not understand the "poor non tax paying retiree." Are you trying to say that people who are retired do not pay taxes? Some retirees are perhaps are under the poverty level. I can assure you that although I am retired; I pay taxes each year. Probably more in taxes than most people earn in income each year.

When you group people together you will have various opinions and many will not agree with one another. This happens most often when you have a diversity of participants. That is to be expected and respected. That said, there is NEVER an acceptable excuse for being uncivil. The se******n of words need to be examined. For example is there a better way of telling someone that you disagree other than calling them a name and telling them they are stupid. For some this will be offensive, but I do not intend to be cruel. When you call people names, you are actually showing your lack of values and exceptionally poor training by your parents. It also shows your position in your community and lack of education.

Your point about critical thinking is well taken and I wholeheartedly agree. It is highly subjective.

Many times the tax is not part of the receipt. It is added on as a cost of the product, therefore hidden.

Correct!

Anytime there is a tax or extra charge to a manufacturing company, that cost is always passed on to the customer. If they did not, then they would not be in business for very long. We would have to be very foolish not to pass it on, and when they manage to raise the minimum wage, look for that to also be passed along. We can deny that it happens, which is like a kid holding their hands over their eyes and pretending that no one can see them.
