When he said to Peter: If you want to catch fish cast your net on the right side of the boat. They did and filled the boat. Thus I have always wondered why it is that Conservatives have always been called the "right," and Democrats the "left."

By chance stumbled upon this verse in the Bible. "The heart of the wise inclines to the right, but the heart of the fool inclines to the left." Ecclesiastes 10:2. Thus sayeth the Lord. Amen

We are all AmerICANS, we are. We all care. We just see different solutions. I see neither side as meaning purposely to do harm. Therein perhaps lies part of the problem -- perception of intent?

Your first observation though...guessing you might never have lived on a farm. I have owned both goats and sheep. Goats are definitely more independent and stubborn. While they can be herded, it is a far more difficult to do. Sheep? They have a tendency, particularly when alarmed and in a panic, even if it means they end up en masse going off a cliff, do so, all of one resolve, together.

If you are referring to the old belief that left-hand people were the smartest ones, then you are crowing to a defunct belief because this was proven to be an old wife's tale. As defunct as the Democrat Party will be on November 7, 2014.

While caring is nice, when people refuse to see the t***h even though the evidence continues to pile higher and higher, there comes a point that you have to realize that some people are going to choose evil. When being right is more important than doing right, yes, one can say that the people have become evil. Just my two cents from my NTBHO (never to be humble, opinion).

Carolyn, I wasn't contradicting the Lord. I was merely stating my observations of the creatures mentioned. I'm not sure what preceded the statement by Christ of sheep to the right and goats to the left. Since you are far more of a Biblical scholar than I am, if you will just steer me to the scripture you referenced, I shall read it so I might have a better understanding. I would NEVER disrespect "the Father, Son, or Holy Ghost." I grew up in a Southern Baptist household.

'Tis amazing. Politicians run on a platform that government doesn't work...and then have to prove themselves right by assuring that it doesn't.

What's even more amazing is that people v**e for those who have to make sure it can't work or they'll lose their credibility with the people who elected them.

People should probably understand that when governments don't work...a nation ultimately collapses. Dysfunction has a price.
