Why would you say that ? Until a person breaks their historic pattern, there is no reason to believe they will. Trump has never backed down or given a sign that he will resign. For a person to break their behavior pattern, there either has to be a breakdown of spirit or some upside for them. Trump has weathered tremendous attacks and has always struck back harder the more he is attacked. Do you have privileged information those of us in the peanut gallery do not ?

Now I totally disagree with you on Trump's liability, but for argument's sake lets us go with your assumption. If he has criminal liability if he resigns, what would make him do that ? If he is liable, the incentive is to stay in office for as long as possible. But, but, but, what if Democrats offer him a deal to go and not be prosecuted ? First Democrats wouldn't do it, second it wouldn't stand up.

So again, I ask what is your logic ? People do what is in their perceived best interests, usually. Guilty or not, how does it benefit Trump to resign ? You make no sense.

I agree with you. The Founders set up an adversarial government. They knew that ambitious men would get into government and in the end the only chek on them was the greed and jealousy of other ambitious men.

Lets us be clear in our discussions. Your side, and they are your side, likes to pretend that House Impeachment is a criminal action. Trump is Impeached in the House that it is the equivalent of being found guilty in a court of law and he is going to jail. That is, as you know, a complete lie. House Impeachment is purely political, not criminal. It only says that one political party is trying to get rid of the head of another political party by non e******n means.

Trump has not been convicted or even charged in a criminal court. When the Democrats Impeach President Trump for his Ukrainian phone call, they will say it is a violation of campaign finance law, but Trump has not been convicted of that in a court of law. Whereas, when House Republicans Impeached Bill Clinton for perjury about the Lewinsky Affair, Bill Clinton had already been convicted in a court of law on that.

To make it clear that if you report abuses of power you will be made to pay for betraying the president or this administration. This has a chilling effect on anyone seeing things they know are wrong that would be considering filing a report...a report that is supposed to be protected by laws that are meant to keep vindictive retaliation from happening.

Knowing who filed this report serves no purpose, it doesn't change the nature of anything currently being looked at. Harassing this person isn't going to make this go away, there won't be a "see, he h**ed Trump so everything is null and void" moment.

In reality, the fact is that the DOJ should be looking at who is trying to out the whistleblower, they are guaranteed anonymity for a reason.
