When it comes to discussing race, progressives have little tolerance for intolerance–past or present. We throw labels around as easily as the Pharisees threw stones at adulterous women. How dare someone not have OUR enlightened view on the world! How dare they not have been born with the innate view of justice, righteousness, and soul that we have!

So when Paula Deen’s transcript was leaked to the press last week, the script was already in place. The media would report that she used the “N” word–everybody would gasp–then the outrage would begin. She would be crucified by the New York Times, Facebook pundits, and of course, her fellow chefs. She would be tried by the court of public opinion who would judge her entire life’s work and character by the use of the “N” word in a private conversation. R****T! we would yell. She would cry. Her business would be destroyed and progressives would declare victory.

Yet, here is the reality: Deen told the t***h about her past. Knowing everything: her empire, her contracts, and sponsorships were at stake–she told the t***h. She was more honest under oath than at least 3 US Presidents, several dozen Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, and Non-Denominational preachers and countless business leaders. Unlike the Pope, Joe Paterno, or Donald Trump, she acknowledged she hadn’t always gotten it right but that she and her company was committed to doing it better and were doing better.

Let’s get this straight. I am not condoning anyone calling me or anyone who looks like me by any racial slur. But neither am I going to k**l someone’s career because they admit that they have in anger, fear, or IN THE PAST have used one. Here it is in a nutshell–Paula Deen has used the N word. She has either told or listened to racial jokes. She has probably said stuff and joked about stuff that went over the line. So here is the dilemma my oh so righteous progressive friends–any one who hasn’t–please step right up and throw the first stone. But before you reach down to pick it up, you better check YouTube; your best friend’s IPHONE; your high school squeeze’s slam book; or your grandma’s video tapes before you do.

Progressives Christians love to talk about grace except when they have to extend it to someone who has offended their political reality. The grace that we proclaim that washes us clean and entitled us to a new life is for everybody as long as they have not offended our politics. A cursory look at the progressive schizophrenic (and hypocritical) view of who deserves grace bears this out. Anthony Weiner shows his weiner to someone other than his wife–Grace abounds. My beloved Bill Clinton gets a handy j in the oval office–Grace abounds. Barney Frank shacks up with a male prostitute–Grace Abounds. President Obama–doesn’t close Gitmo; listens to our conversations; and uses drones to k**l civilians–Grace Abounds. A woman uses the N word AND admits it knowing that a great portion of her clientele is African American (I’d say Paula probably has used it more than that)–our verdict: Off with her head, her show, and her ham.

I purchased a burger at Burger King for $1.58. The counter girl took my $2 and I was digging for my change when I pulled 8 cents from my pocket and gave it to her. She stood there, holding the nickel and 3 pennies, while looking at the screen on her register. I sensed her discomfort and tried to tell her to just give me two quarters, but she hailed the manager for help. While he tried to explain the t***saction to her, she stood there and cried.. Why do I tell you this? Because of the evolution in teaching math since the 1960s:

He does this so he can make a profit of $20. What do you think of this way of making a living? Topic for class participation after answering the question: How did the birds and squirrels feel as the logger cut down their homes? (There are no wrong answers, and if you feel like crying, it's ok).

Who can predict the future? You know throughout history people have been born into horrendous conditions, and not only lived but became , inventors, philosophers, artists, brain surgeons, you get the drift. Then there are those born into wealth and privilege who become drunks, thieves , murders, and progressive politicians, sorry I couldn't resist that one. I don't know about everyone, but for me there have been periods in my life of intense pain, regret and occasionally despair , so what should the litmus test be for life?! How dare anyone assume they have the right to deprive another person of their life because they might not meet a subjective standard of happiness or usefulness

You're splitting hairs. And. By. Come on. I did in fact discuss Reducing the birth rate during the course of the various comments.

I didn't make any proposals about other nations or even our own. I generalized about the situation. I'm here to discuss our problems, but you can't expect me or likely anyone on OPP to have the authority to actually do the things needed. Merely speaking my piece. But hey, if you have some way of dealing with overpopulation, of actually doing something about it, I bet we'd all love to hear it.

Until we change our attitudes, and yeah, we really do need to change them, then all forms of birth control including a******n does help stem the tide. I totally agree that a******n is a bad thing, I just see overpopulation that results in the extinctions and pollution as a worse thing. If we would only reduce our population and limit our birth rate thereafter, the word "a******n" might cease to be in the dictionary.

Dear I was a military wife for 30 years, I know what it is to travel and be a part of the military. I lived in Spain for 3 yrs and Japan for 4 half years, California for 3 yrs, and Gulport, Miss for 2 yrs then back to Penscola. I am not a prude, I am not standing over anyone. I will keep you in my prayers because you seem to have a great judgement of me. There is only one that can judge, and I guess you haven't met him yet.
It was far from glamorous in all the travel, and yet he went to the Indiana Ocean and I had to deal with my two boys by myself, but I had great support by others in the military. I am sorry of the parts of the body you lost, but today the new creation of equipement to help those that lost legs, to walk and even to run again, and to have arms again. If you are feeling that you are left behind because you haven't been fitted for a leg, then you need to get to the VA and start your process all over again. You have the strength to pull yourself forward. I will keep you in prayer, God bless have a great weekend. jackki

Obscenity is in the eye of the beholder. My father taught me not to be a prude. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor who considered war and violence to be obscene, not bodily functions.

Where would I place Bo? He is a thoughtful person who actually gives a DAMN about people who live in difficult circumstances or live with oppression. On the scale of humanity, he is many, many light years beyond you!

I know a woman who two months ago was exposed to a heavy dose of Black Mold in a kitchen sink. This woman was given no protective items to use in the cleaning, nor for-warned of the issue.
One month later, this woman was sent out of town into squaler conditions of human blood, human/animal excriments, and made to stay for 6 days, an extended stay without choice, without protective items to use, nor for-warned of conditions.
Since those times, this woman has been waking up with dried blood around her nostrils, red-blood from sneezing fits, swollen watery eyes, rashes, bad fatigue, respiratory issues.

For this person: I am asking and calling on the Body of Christ (his believers) to pray for intervention and judgment as this woman has been denied w/c for any treatment as her employer denies the issues.
