Alright ya rabid music hounds, this is your big chance to either show your age or, your passion for music.

The authoress of the thread "Just a Little Music" can't get enough of the past and suggested we just bury it here. We have some truly interesting characters on OPP that have a plethora of songs from their life that we'd all like to hear.

Songs from WWII
Korea
Vietnam Era
Holidays
Happy Days
Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days
Days Well Spent
Days You Just Spent Well
Days Gone By
Days You Can't Recall but, Everyone Won't Let You Forget
Incarceration Days (Oddly, I seem to know most of those  )
Songs of Faith
Country Songs
Songs About Drunken Country Artists Without Faith

You know, America's Jukebox?

Whatever blows your hair back or, your wig straight off.

Ladies I have made myself the official “Ten Cents a Dance” Man.

Cash in those pop bottles, steal change from your daddy's pockets and, let's light this candle!

Don't let the uniforms scare ya, these fellas are real gentlemen.

Also magazines will be furnished upon request for just a nickel more.

Now I know it's Sunday but, please let's get...

Swing music, also known as swing jazz or simply swing, is a form of jazz music that developed in the early 1930s and became a distinctive style by 1935 in the United States. Swing uses a strong rhythm section of double bass and drums as the anchor for a lead section of brass instruments such as trumpets and trombones, woodwinds including saxophones and clarinets, and sometimes stringed instruments such as violin and guitar, medium to fast tempos, and a "lilting" swing time rhythm. Swing bands usually featured soloists who would improvise on the melody over the arrangement. The danceable swing style of bandleaders such as Benny Goodman and Count Basie was the dominant form of American popular music from 1935 to 1945.
