Before I listen to Etta...anything by Sam Cooke has to be considered. He was an exemplary prelude to the MoTown sound, IMO.

Neither Ray Charles or Sam Cooke ever did a bad song, as far as I'm concerned. They were two of the greatest...EVER.

I wish I knew how to cut copy and paste I would contribute to this. I still listen to Robin Trower Humble Pie Savoy Brown, Stevie Ray Vaughn Herbie Hancock, Johnnie Winter, Greatfull Dead, and someone you may not have heard of John 5 I enjoy all music some songs are ageless. I was born listening to Pat Boone and Elvis. After we got TV I watched Rosemary Cloony and Dinah Shore. The beatles came and went music turned into Rock to acid rock to country rock to Blues rock. I like it all

Eclectic, you are, Tom :!: My top 5 bands...although I swear no absolute allegiance to any.

Beatles/Eagles/Blood, Sweat & Tears/Credence Clearwater Revival/The Doors

I, also, do not know how to 'cut & paste'.
